Speak Righteousness

Tuesday 1 st October 2019 The Word of Life Daily Devotional Speak Righteousness Memory verse: -Psalms52:3 Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah. Bible Passage: - Psalms 52 Message Christ our Lord and saviour is the truth and the life, whosoever abideth in him lies not to his neighbour, he speaks the whole truth from the inward part because the old man in his depraved nature is crucified at the cross with Christ; he is now Christlike; he is not the one living again, but Christ liveth on the inside of him; old things are passed away and he is now a new man. He who claims to be a Christian and lies at ease (which is the very nature of the devil) has not seen Christ neither known him. Mankind lost his power of dominion and authority in the garden of Eden when he succumbed to the lies of the devil who beguiled Eve. So, if you tell lies easily then you are under the control of the devil who is the father of all liars. Ye are

Our Greatest Need

Our Greatest Need Billy Graham's Daily Devotion Sep 30, 2019 I stretch forth my hands unto thee; my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land... –Psalm 143:6 Not long ago I visited the dean of a great American university. We looked out the window of his office and watched hundreds of students walking to their classes. I asked the dean, "What is the greatest problem at this university?" He thought a moment and answered, "Emptiness." So many people today are bored, lonely, searching for something. You can see it in their faces. One girl home from college told her wealthy father, "Father, I want something but I don't know what it is." That's true of many people; we want something to meet the deepest problems of our lives, but we haven't found it. David said, "I have found it. I shall not want." The Apostle Paul expressed it, "I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content." You don't have to giv

Ability

Faith Food – September 29 By Rhema Team, Sep 29, 2019 Ability . . . For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.  — 2 CORINTHIANS 6:16 Few Christians seem to be conscious of the fact that God lives in them. They couldn’t be and still talk the way they do. What do I mean? When a need arises in their life, some Christians are quick to say, “No, I can’t do that.” Why? Because they’re trusting in themselves, or the flesh, to put them over. They know they don’t have the ability in themselves to do it. But if we are conscious that God is in us, then we know He has the ability to do  anything . So we can stop saying, “I can’t,” and we can begin saying with confidence, “I  can  — because I’m trusting God! I  can  — because God is in me! I  can  — because greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world!” No matter what you face — and you may be facing seemingly impossibl

What Is Confession?

Health Food – September 29 By Rhema Team, Sep 29, 2019 What Is Confession? That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  — ROMANS 10:9 What is confession? First, it’s  affirming something that we believe . Second, it’s  testifying to something that we know . And third, it’s  witnessing for a truth that we’ve embraced . What are we to confess? Well, our confession should center around five things: (1) What God in Christ has wrought for us in His great plan of redemption; (2) what God through the Word and the Holy Spirit has wrought in us in the New Birth and the baptism in the Holy Ghost; (3) what we are to God the Father in Christ Jesus; (4) what Jesus is doing for us now at the right hand of the Father in His present-day ministry; and (5) what the Word of God will do through our lips. Now you cannot confess or witness about things you do not know about. It’s what you pers

THE PRINCIPLES OF GIVING

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL DATE: MONDAY 30TH SEPTEMBER 2019 THEME: THE PRINCIPLES OF GIVING MEMORISE: As it is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack. 2 Corinthians 8:15 READ: 2 Corinthians 8:9-15 8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. 8:10 And herein I give my advice: for this is expedient for you, who have begun before, not only to do, but also to be forward a year ago. 8:11 Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have. 8:12 For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not. 8:13 For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened: 8:14 But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that the

STRENGTH IN TENDERNESS

DAILY MANNA DEVOTIONAL MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 30 2019 STRENGTH IN TENDERNESS TEXT: MARK 11:27-33. KEY VERSE: "The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? answer me" (MARK 11:30)._ Often, we think of strength as the opposite of gentleness, softness and tenderness, which may not always be true. This is reinforced by an amazing discovery by the British fighter pilots during the First World War. They found out that thick layers of silk stopped low velocity shrapnel better than steel. With this the discovery, they wound the silk around their heads and then wore leather horse riding helmets on top of the silk. Even though scientists are grappling with this discovery, they are not in doubt that sometimes soft, gentle, tender silk can prove far stronger than cold hard steel. Likewise, Jesus taught us the same principle in relationship. He showed us that gentleness, a heart that is soft toward others and tenderness, are in fact qualities of great strength. The Pharisees

The Defender of the Righteous

Monday September 30, 2019 Word of Life Daily Devotional The Defender of the Righteous Memory verse: - Ps 5:11 But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. Bible Reading: - Psalms 5: 1 – 12 Message One of the Old Testament saints that had cordial relationship with God was David and God himself testifies of him that ‘he was a man after my own heart’. God even though He is high and lifted up far above heavens hears prayers and it is the right thing to do for believers to cry unto him everyday – morning and evening. Let that fellowship be cordial and sweet by taking away iniquity far away from thy tabernacle – from your life because God hates leasing and all forms of sins that constitute barriers to answering prayers. God hates workers of iniquity and that which is to be known of God is clearly written in all his creatures, God loves us all but he hates si

Unlearn Wrong Confession

Sunday 29 th September, 2019 The Word of Life Daily Devotional Unlearn Wrong Confession Memory verse: - Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. (Proverb 18:21) Bible Reading: - Numbers 13 and 14 Message This world was created by the spoken words of God that let this or that be and it was established; it was so. You and I were also created by the word that “let us create man in our own image” and it was done. If the word in God’s mouth was so powerful, so are the words of men created by God and now recreated, reborn or renewed by Christ from the bondage of sin. If you are born again, you ought to unlearn wrong confessions and begin to confess what God says about every challenge that comes your way. It is not a sin or a lie for the weak to say I am strong and for the sick to say I am well; I am whole; and for the needy to say I am blessed for he has given us all that pertain to life and to godliness through the

HEAVEN'S TESTIMONIAL

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL DATE:  SATURDAY 28TH SEPTEMBER 2019 THEME: HEAVEN'S TESTIMONIAL MEMORISE: For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. 2 Peter  1:17 READ: Numbers  12:4-10 12:4 And the LORD spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out.  12:5 And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth.  12:6 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.  12:7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.  12:8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold:

ARE YOU WISE?

DAILY MANNA DEVOTIONAL SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 28 2019 ARE YOU WISE? TEXT: DANIEL 12:5-13. KEY VERSE: "Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall go wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand" (DANIEL 12:10)._ The passage for our consideration marks the climax of eschatological events as divinely revealed to Daniel. Precisely, it is a compact and prophetic announcement of the resurrection of the dead and the great tribulation with a comforting assurance to Daniel that he shall be among the redeemed at the end. However, our key verse echoes explicitly the attitudes and lot of the wise (the righteous) and the wicked (the sinner and backslider). The wise shall hear, understand, believe and be saved (purified and made white). But the wicked shall remain adamant in his wickedness. Therefore, the great and eternally relevant question is: are you wise? The wise is everyone who hears, believes and accepts the go

The Beginning of Jesus

The Beginning of Jesus Billy Graham's Daily Devotion Sep 28, 2019 Before Abraham was, I am. –John 8:58 Jesus did not begin in Bethlehem. The Bible says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." Jesus said that He existed before the foundation of the world. He was there when the moon and stars were flung out into space from the Father's flaming fingertips. He was there when God created this planet. He has always existed. He is "from everlasting to everlasting."  What makes Jesus different from other religious leaders? Learn more. PRAYER FOR THE DAY You, Lord Jesus, who have always existed, came down from heaven in love and saved me from the depths of my sin. In humble adoration I praise You, my Savior and Lord.

The Greater One Within

Faith Food – September 28 By Rhema Team, Sep 28, 2019 The Greater One Within Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.  — 1 JOHN 4:4 It should be common practice for you to say in every crisis of life: “ I am a victor. I am more than a conqueror. The Creator dwells in me. The Greater One lives in me. He can put me over. The Greater One will make me a success. I can’t fail. ” That’s not bragging on you; it’s bragging on the Greater One who is in you. And it will put Him to work for you! If you’re a born-again, Spirit-filled believer, you have in you, ready for your use, everything you will ever need to put you over. The divine potential of all the power that there is, indwells you! If you will believe the Bible and begin to confess what it says, the Greater One will rise up in you and give illumination to your mind, direction to your spirit, health to your body, and help in every aspect of lif

The Importance Of Your Words

Health Food – September 28 By Rhema Team, Sep 28, 2019 The Importance Of Your Words Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.  — PROVERBS 18:21 In 1951, I was holding a meeting in a town in Texas. We had day and night teaching services. Between the services, I would walk up and down the aisles of the church, praying and reading my Bible. One day, I was reading the Book of Mark as I was on my knees near the altar. I got tired, so I sat down on the floor and finished reading the Book of Mark. Now I wasn’t even thinking about Mark 11:23. I was thinking about the sixteenth chapter of Mark, where Jesus said, “Go into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature.” Then I got tired of sitting, so I just lay down on my back. As I was lying there on my back with my hands under my head, staring at the ceiling, I came to the place my mind got quiet. Then I heard these words on the inside of me: “Did you notice in Mark 11:23

Your Sin will Find You Out

Saturday 28 th September 2019 The Word of Life Daily Devotional Your Sin will Find You Out Memory verse: - Num32: 23 But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out. Bible Reading: - Number 32:1 – 42 Message The phrase “ your sin will find you out” was the reply of Moses to the tribe of Gad and Benjamin who decided to settled down on the other side of Jordan with promise not to settle down until other tribes have got their resting place. Are you one of the spiritual Israelites bought and washed by the blood of the lamb? Then you need to abide in the doctrine of Christ and jettison all other false teachings and practices that are not of Christ. Avoid with passionate hatred what you did not see in Christ for he is enough for us and it is in him alone that we are complete, otherwise your sin of wrong worship shall find you out. Look at Christ whom the father said we should hearken to and do all you see him do; al

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit Billy Graham's Daily Devotion Sep 27, 2019 Your body is the home of the Holy Spirit . . . –1 Corinthians 6:19 (TLB) Who is the Holy Spirit? He is God, just as God the Father and God the Son are also God. We speak of them as the Trinity. You ask me to explain the Trinity. Our minds can but dimly grasp these great spiritual facts, because we are finite and God is infinite. It may help to remember that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit have all existed from eternity. The work of creation was given to the Son and we are told that, "All things were made by Him and without Him was not anything made that was made." But when you read the second verse of the first chapter of Genesis, you will find that the Holy Spirit was also there, moving upon the face of His creation. In time, the Son of God came into the world as a man, to redeem the world which He had created. After His death on the cross, and His resurrection, He went back t

THE SEPARATION DAY

DAILY MANNA FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 27 2019 THE SEPARATION DAY TEXT:MATTHEW 13:24-43. KEY VERSE "And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth" (MATTHEW 13:42) A Nigerian adage states that ,"Everyday is for the thief, but one day for the owner." This is the day for the thief's eventual apprehension to face the wrath of the owner of the stolen articles. In His response to his disciples' curiosity, Christ delved into a faultless exposition on the composition of the Church compromising the wise and the wicked, with particular reference to the doom, destruction and damnation awaiting recalcitrant sinners and backsliders. He pointedly and prophetically explained the eternal separation of the righteous from the wicked into heaven and hell respectively at the final judgement day. Burning, wailing, pain and gnashing of teeth await adamant sinners and backsliders, while the righteous shall rejoice and shine forth as the sun

RAISING YOUR CHILDREN

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL DATE: FRIDAY 27TH SEPTEMBER 2019 THEME: RAISING YOUR CHILDREN MEMORISE: And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children. Isaiah 54:13 READ: 1 Samuel 2:27-33 2:27 And there came a man of God unto Eli, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Did I plainly appear unto the house of thy father, when they were in Egypt in Pharaoh's house? 2:28 And did I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to offer upon mine altar, to burn incense, to wear an ephod before me? and did I give unto the house of thy father all the offerings made by fire of the children of Israel? 2:29 Wherefore kick ye at my sacrifice and at mine offering, which I have commanded in my habitation; and honourest thy sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the chiefest of all the offerings of Israel my people? 2:30 Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, sho

Having Both of Them

Friday 27 th September, 2019 The Word of Life Daily Devotional Having Both of Them Memory verse: - 2John 1:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. Bible Reading: - 2 John 1:1 – 13 Message How wonderful and marvelous would it be to have both the father and the son abiding with you. Cast your mind back to the rewarding and profitable presence of God with Joseph at home and abroad; remember how God commanded Isaac to dwell in the land and he had abundant harvest even than the people of the land in time of famine; behold his mightiness in the life of Jabez who He made to be more honourable than his brethren; his presence with Daniel made the ferocious and hungry lions powerless and rendered the consuming fire harmless for the three Hebrew children to mention but a few. He is as potent and powerful today as of yesterday, he has not for a second changed

Receiving The Holy Spirit

Faith Food – September 26 By Rhema Team, Sep 26, 2019 Receiving The Holy Spirit And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost  . . . . — ACTS 2:4 . . . They sent unto them Peter and John: Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost.  — ACTS 8:14,15 . . . Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed?  . . . — ACTS 19:2 In New Testament times, it was the exception for believers not to have received the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, with the supernatural sign and initial evidence of speaking in tongues. The Epistles were written to believers who knew Jesus as Savior and who had been filled with the Holy Spirit. Thank God, the Holy Spirit is in us too. But too often people who have been born again and then filled with the Spirit just think of themselves as having received a blessing or some kind of experience — and they miss entirely what the Word of God teaches!  A Divine Personality actually comes to live in us! God Himself in th

Get Thrilled About The Truth

Health Food – September 26 By Rhema Team, Sep 26, 2019 Get Thrilled About The Truth Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.  — ISAIAH 41:10 On the last Sunday night of the meeting, eleven days after I last saw this Presbyterian woman, I was sitting on the platform with the pastor. I saw her walk in with a young man by her side. The pastor whispered to me, “That’s her son.” As the pastor was making an announcement, this woman jumped up and said, “I can’t wait! I’ve got to testify!” She ran down the aisle and said to me, “This is my son, Brother Hagin. Remember, I was telling you about him just eleven days ago? We’ve taken him in our private jet to one healing meeting after another. But when you read and quoted Isaiah 41:10 several days ago, I began to realize my authority. I began to realize that God is with me and there’s no use in me bein

WISDOM & DEATH

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL DATE: THURSDAY 26TH SEPTEMBER 2019 THEME: WISDOM & DEATH MEMORISE: For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. Proverbs 1:32 READ: Proverbs 8:32-36 8:32 Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways. 8:33 Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. 8:34 Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. 8:35 For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD. 8:36 But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death. MESSAGE Rejecting wisdom is a pathway that leads to death. Any human endeavour that is not founded on wisdom will sooner or later die a natural death. This is the reason why the Bible says in Proverbs 4:7: "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding." Why does

COMPROMISED FOUNDATION

DAILY MANNA THURSDAY 26TH SEPTEMBER, 2019 COMPROMISED FOUNDATION TEXT: JEREMIAH 11:1-14 KEY VERSE: “They are turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, which refuse to hear my words; and they went after other gods to serve them: the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers” (JEREMIAH 11:10). Foundations are critical to the structural integrity and longevity of any building. A compromised foundation portends grave danger and calamity. “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” (Psalm 11:3). The most critical foundation one should build his life upon is the word of God. Its reliability is sure and it helps the believer to constantly maintain stability in his walk with God. Our passage reveals the controversy God had with the men of Judah and Jerusalem. This stems from the fact that the children of Judah wanted the fulfilment of God’s promises but lacked the will to do what He commanded them. H

ENCOURAGE YOURSELF

Thursday 26 th September, 2019 Words of Life Daily Devotional ENCOURAGE YOURSELF MEMORY VERSE: - 1Sa 30:6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God. BIBLE READING: - 1Sam 30: 1 – 31 MESSAGE While passing through this world of sin on our journey to heaven, there will be trials, temptations, tribulations, lack of one thing or the other and time of distress and adversity; but he that endures to the end shall be saved. To be able to endure to the end, you need to learn how to encourage yourself, because crying, mourning and slowing down your fervency in the service of God will not help you. But you are to be filled with the spirit of God that comforts and encourages believers to move on. You must know who you believe; you must be well persuaded; your Christian conviction must be sound and sure, for the

Symptoms of Guilt

Symptoms of Guilt Billy Graham's Daily Devotion Sep 25, 2019 Cleanse me from this guilt. Let me be pure again. –Psalm 51:2 (TLB) Guilt is a prominent word among psychoanalysts, psychiatrists, and ministers too. The dictionary calls guilt "the act or state of having done a wrong or committed an offense." The symptoms of guilt are many, but the root cause is one. We have broken the moral law of the universe as expressed in the Ten Commandments and the Sermon on the Mount. So we have a sense of guilt. This guilt causes a variety of psychological problems such as insecurity, tension, hunger for approval, struggles for recognition. A sense of guilt, some psychiatrists point out, is as necessary as a sense of pain. We need both in order to keep us from getting hurt.  Listen: Billy Graham in 60 seconds on sin and guilt. PRAYER FOR THE DAY Your Holy Spirit touches my heart and makes me conscious of my guilt. Forgive me, Lord.

CONSIDER YOUR END

DAILY MANNA WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 25 2019 CONSIDER YOUR END TEXT: ECCLESIASTES 11:7-10. KEY VERSE* "Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgement" (ECCLESIASTES 11:9) Youthful days are quite impressionistic. Youths are witty, adventurous and daring but unfortunately one of the greatest albatross of man is his failure to think or plan for the future. In fact, he who fails to prepare for his future is the greatest fool. A story was told of a king who gave his clown a walking stick in honour of his being the best clown, the greatest fool. This stick was only to be given to a greater fool by the clown. One day, the king was dying and the clown came to visit. He asked the king what preparation he had made for going to heaven and the king answered, "None." He quietly gave his wa
