the Righteous

Bible Reading: - Psalms 5: 1 – 12
Message
One of the
Old Testament saints that had cordial relationship with God was David and God
himself testifies of him that ‘he was a man after my own heart’. God even
though He is high and lifted up far above heavens hears prayers and it is the
right thing to do for believers to cry unto him everyday – morning and evening.
Let that
fellowship be cordial and sweet by taking away iniquity far away from thy
tabernacle – from your life because God hates leasing and all forms of sins
that constitute barriers to answering prayers. God hates workers of iniquity
and that which is to be known of God is clearly written in all his creatures,
God loves us all but he hates sin. And this is what makes the difference
between those that fear God and those that fear him not. Those that fear God
will say like Joseph “how shall do this great wickedness and sin against God”
because he knows that all things are naked and open before God whom we have to
do. And God that seeth in secret shall take them from the dungeon of prison to
the palace and make them prime ministers of the land.
He is
still the defender of the righteous, he has not changed; if he delivers Daniel
from the lion’s den, he can still do more for his people today; you remember
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the fiery furnace; He came in at the right
time to deliver them as the defender of the righteous.
He knows
that the time of departure of Peter was not yet and he came down to set him free
from the prison where Herod kept him; Paul and Silas were delivered by him. It
pays to be righteous because the Lord will be there to fight for you.
Saul with
thousands of soldier pursued David for years, but God did not allow him to hurt
him until he eventually perished. They can throw their spiritual arrows at you
and do all sort of evil against you, but one thing is certain, they cannot
prevail against you. The Lord did not say they won’t fight you, they will but
he said they will not prevail against you.
Jer 1:19 And they shall
fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with
thee, saith the Lord, to deliver thee.
Jer 20:11 But the Lord is
with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and
they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not
prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten.
You are
righteous in Christ Jesus, because immediately you accepted him as your
personal Lord and saviour; you have his righteousness inputted upon you and
when God sees you in Christ, he sees you in righteousness and will fight your
battles for you. He is the defender of the righteous; he has not change I say
he will defend you and will not tarry; he will not suffer you to be put to
shame.
Confession
of the Day: -
The Lord is my defender; I will not fear what man shall do unto me because they
will stumble and fall that seek my downfall; for the Lord will discomfit them.
Prayer
Points: -Heavenly
father, help me to maintain cordial fellowship with you diligently; let not sin
of whatever degree have dominion over me; deliver me from haters of my soul in
Jesus name. [Amen]
