ENCOURAGE YOURSELF
MEMORY VERSE: - 1Sa 30:6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.
BIBLE READING: - 1Sam 30: 1 – 31
MESSAGE
While passing through this world of sin on our journey to heaven, there will be trials, temptations, tribulations, lack of one thing or the other and time of distress and adversity; but he that endures to the end shall be saved.
To be able to endure to the end, you need to learn how to encourage yourself, because crying, mourning and slowing down your fervency in the service of God will not help you. But you are to be filled with the spirit of God that comforts and encourages believers to move on.
You must know who you believe; you must be well persuaded; your Christian conviction must be sound and sure, for there in your strength lies. David in today’s reading encouraged himself when there was nobody to encourage him, he sought the Lord in prayer, received guidance from above and pursued the enemies. He came back victoriously with his family members taken captive by the enemy.
This was written down for our admonition; consider Hannah at Shiloh – she wept before the Lord in heartfelt prayers to God and her situation was reversed; she silenced those that were making mockery of her barrenness and got Samuel from God. Her situation would have remained that way if she had not sought the face of God in prayers; Job was another person that was tried sorely – all his possessions and children perished in a day and he was stricken with sore boils from the crown of his head to the toe of his feet with words of discouragement from his wife that “curse God and die.”  But he encouraged himself in the Lord and confessed that though he slays me I will serve him.
Jesus our savior saw all that he will went through before going to the cross and he overcome it all on his kneel in the garden of Gethsemane.
Have you seen what they did, how they prayed and how they overcome and how faithful God was to them? God is not a respect of persons, tarry before him like Hannah, Job, Joshua against Ai and our Lord Jesus to mention but a few and he will come to your aid. He is a loving father, caring father, compassionate father, he will not forsake his own that cry to him day and night. Encourage yourself in the battles of life making those problems your stepping stone to victory; it is well with your soul in Jesus name.
Confession of the Day
Whatever happens to me, I have known the way of salvation and I will not turn back come what may till I reach my home.
Prayer Points

Lord, let your words in me rise like a flood against every discouragement in my life; keep me moving forward till I see you in glory.

May 3 SUPPLYING OUR NEEDS But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. — PHILIPPIANS 4:19 It is God’s will that our needs be met. All of them! Philippians 4:19 includes all of your needs (all means all!), whether spiritual, physical, material, or financial. Believe that! Lest someone think that God is not concerned about our financial needs, this verse is set in a context which discusses material and financial affairs. Read it and you will see that the Philippians had taken up an offering of money and goods to send to other Christians. Paul was telling them, “Because you have given to others and have helped them, my God shall supply all your need.” So Paul was talking about material and financial matters.
