FEBRUARY 1, 2018 Words of Life Daily Devotional HATRED OF COMPARISON MEMORY VERSE: - Mal 1:3 And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness. BIBLE READING: - Mal 1: 1- 5 MESSAGE We have been commanded in the bible that we should not hate anyone without a cause; for he that hateth his brother without a cause is a murderer [1Jn3: 15]. Hence we should not hate anyone at all whatever happens; love and hate not, abstain from all appearance of evil. God said he hates Esau because he was a profane person [someone who desecrates holy things; who counts as an unholy thing his birthright ordained by God]. God is saying he has more love for Jacob and less love for Esau. Jacob listened to his parents; sought after God and even laid altar for God at Bethel, but Esau went into unequal yoke in marriage with revengeful spirit against Jacob his brother.
