Mountain And Valleys

Faith Food – August 1 By Rhema Team, Aug 1, 2019 Mountain And Valleys Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ  . . . . — 2 CORINTHIANS 2:14 I hear people talk about being in the valley, and then on the mountain, and then back in the valley again. To tell the truth about it, I don’t know what they’re talking about. I’ve been saved since 1933, and I’ve never been anywhere but on the mountaintop! You don’t have to get down in the valley. People talk about their “valley experiences.” I’ve never had any valley experiences. Oh, yes, there have been tests and trials — but I was on top of the mountain, shouting my way through it all, living above it. Praise God! You see, those who say they’re in the valleys are looking at life from the natural standpoint — from the physical.  They are trying to get a spiritual answer from the physical  — and you just can’...

We Have Power—Faith Activates The Power!

Health Food- August 1 By Rhema Team, Aug 1, 2019 We Have Power—Faith Activates The Power! And when he [Jesus] had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.  . — MATTHEW 10:1 In Matthew chapter 17, we read that Jesus took Peter, James, and John to what became known as the Mount of Transfiguration, where Jesus was transfigured before them. The only disciples on the mountain with Jesus were Peter, James, and John. During this experience, the other nine disciples were at the foot of the mountain, where a man brought his son for them to minister to the boy, but they failed. Let’s pick up with verse 14. MATTHEW 17:14–16 14 And when they [Jesus, Peter, James, and John] were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying, 15 Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttim...

Internal Strife

Internal Strife Billy Graham's Daily Devotion Aug 01, 2019 Pride goes before destruction and haughtiness before a fall. –Proverbs 16:18 (TLB) David, king of ancient Israel, found himself in the midst of a confused national situation. His kingdom was torn by internal strife. Slave hated master; master hated slave. People blamed the government, and government blamed the people. David looked about him and saw that every man thought himself perfect. Each individual placed blame upon other individuals. David knew that if sinful pride continued to increase, his nation would collapse spiritually. He knew that economic depression, moral disintegration, or military defeat inevitably follow spiritual decline. So David turned to God, and it was revealed to him by the Spirit of God that the spiritual tide of his nation could rise no higher than the spiritual level of his own heart. So he fell on his knees in utter humility and prayed, "Search me, O God, and know my heart; ...

FAITH: ANTIDOTE FOR FEAR.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL DATE: THURSDAY 1ST AUGUST 2019 THEME: FAITH: ANTIDOTE FOR FEAR. MEMORISE: But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6 READ: James 1:5-8 5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. MESSAGE Fear is an unpleasant emotion that is usually triggered by a perceived or real threat of danger, pain or harm. It manifests as a general feeling of anxiety over the likelihood of a negative occurrence that may never become reality. It is indeed a paralyzing force that often leads to self-dou...

FED FROM HEAVEN

DAILY MANNA THURSDAY 1ST AUGUST, 2019 FED FROM HEAVEN TEXT: EXODUS 16:32-36 KEY VERSE: “And the children of Israel did eat manna forty years until they came to a land inhabited…” (EXODUS 16:35a). Sometime in May 2018, pictures circulated in the social media showing multitudes of fish instead of rain, falling from the sky on the streets of a particular Asian city. Men were seen busy gathering heaps of fish into containers. Though no explanation was given for such strange occurrence, someone said he believed it was a form of “manna” from God for that city. Moses, as directed by God, had instructed Aaron the high priest to take a pot and fill it with manna to be kept for a memorial so that future generations of the children of Israel would be able to see the manna with which God fed them for forty years in the wilderness. God's sovereign power was clearly displayed so that the children of Israel would not be in doubt as to the great power of Jehovah. Besides the variou...

Disallowed, But Chosen Stones

Thursday 1 st August 2019 The Word of Life Daily Devotional Disallowed, But Chosen Stones Memory verse: - 1Peter2:4,5 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.   Bible Reading: - 1Peter 2: 1 – 25 Message Jesus Christ, the saviour of the whole world is the chief corner stone and the Living stone rejected of men because of their ignorance in godly spiritual matters. Herod did not want him to live because he was referred to as a king of Jews; he tried to disallow his existence and as a result killed many children because of him. He was preserved by God who knows where to hide his own far beyond the reach of the wicked and that because he was a chosen living stone of God and chief corner stone of the spiritual house of God. As Christ is the Living and Chief corner s...

FAITH, OBEDIENCE & MIRACLES.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL DATE: WEDNESDAY 31ST JULY 2019 THEME: FAITH, OBEDIENCE & MIRACLES. MEMORISE: His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. John 2:5 READ: John 2:1-11 1And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: 2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. 3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. 4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. 5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. 6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. 7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. 8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. 9 When the ruler of the ...

WICKED OPPRESSORS

DAILY MANNA WEDNESDAY 31ST JULY, 2019 WICKED OPPRESSORS TEXT: PSALM 73:1-28 KEY VERSE: “How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors”(PSALM 73:19). Having power and authority over others often reveals the true state of a man's heart. Tyranny is fed and sustained by having an edge over others in some areas of life. The text reveals the actions and attitudes of the wicked rich who pride themselves in their wealth. They would taunt and oppress the poor; they blaspheme God and would say “...How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the Most High?” (Psalm 73:11). What these wicked oppressors do not know is that the most high God is wise in heart. He has predetermined the judgment and the end of such individuals. The psalmist was almost carried away by the apparent success and stress-free lifestyle of the ungodly who prospered in their own worldly ways. Today, many are destitute of the fear and grace of God in different s...

And It Came to Pass

Wednesday 31 st July 2019 The Word of Life Daily Devotional And It Came to Pass Memory verse: - Acts 21:1      And it came to pass, that after we were gotten from them, and had launched, we came with a straight course unto Coos, and the day following unto Rhodes, and from thence unto Patara: Bible Reading: - Acts 21: 1 – 40 Message The ministry of Paul to the Jews and gentiles was foretold by the Lord when he called him in Acts 9:15 – 16         But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake. He has all the while being ministering to the gentiles and now in chapter 20 decided to go to Jerusalem to minister to the Jews – Children of Israel and there were prophecies concerning the danger that awaited him there. Since the first part of the L...

The Dominant One

Faith Food – July 30 By Rhema Team, Jul 30, 2019 The Dominant One . . . Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.  — GALATIANS 5:16 I learned early in my Christian life to let my spirit, my inward man, dominate my outward man. So even as a teenage boy standing alone without the fellowship of other teenagers who believed like I did, I didn’t have the problems some do. If there was anyone in my Sunday school class who was saved besides me, I didn’t know it. They would cuss, drink, attend worldly dances, and they were all mixed up with one another in sexual activities. They’d say to me, “Why don’t you do those things?” First, my conscience wouldn’t allow me to do those things. Also, I’d reply to them, “I’m a new creature.” And they would ask, “What’s a new creature?” (That pretty well proved they weren’t new creatures!) You don’t need to be pre...

Unbelief Will Keep You From The Blessings Of God

Health Food – July 30 By Rhema Team, Jul 30, 2019 Unbelief Will Keep You From The Blessings Of God And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. And he marvelled because of their unbelief. . . .  — MARK 6:5 Let’s look at a city that was robbed of God’s best. According to Mark 6:5, when Jesus left the city of Nazareth, He left people languishing on beds of sickness and disease. These were people who could have been healed and should have been healed. It was the will of God to heal them. Now many people say, “God is all powerful and if He wanted to heal them, He could have.” Well, wasn’t Jesus God in the flesh? Yes! Jesus said, “He that has seen Me has seen the Father. If you want to see God working, look at Me” (John 14:9). Yet Jesus didn’t heal these people. Why? It was because of their unbelief. The unbelief of that city robbed them of the blessings of G...

A Covenant with Eyes

A Covenant with Eyes Billy Graham's Daily Devotion Jul 30, 2019 Keep thyself pure. –1 Timothy 5:22 Someone has said, "You cannot help the first look, but the second is sin." Jesus indicated that you can engage in immorality by a look. The Bible places the "lust of the eye" right along with other major sins. Listen: "For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world." Peter spoke of having "eyes full of adultery." No wonder Job said, "I have made a covenant with my eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?" Your eyes see only what your soul allows them to see.  What's the difference between love and lust? PRAYER FOR THE DAY May my eyes be on You, Lord Jesus, for I need Your purity and love to fill my heart and mind.

QUALIFIED FOR CLASSIFIED INFORMATION.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL DATE: TUESDAY 30TH JULY 2019 THEME: QUALIFIED FOR CLASSIFIED INFORMATION. MEMORISE: And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do; Genesis 18:17 READ: Acts 27:21-24 21 But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss. 22 And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but of the ship. 23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, 24 Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. MESSAGE Some information is deemed classified meaning that it is top-secret. The Almighty God has a lot of such information at His disposal. Thankfully, He releases classified information to His elect from time to time. As seen in today’s memor...

THE DAY OF HIS WRATH

DAILY MANNA TUESDAY 30TH JULY, 2019 THE DAY OF HIS WRATH TEXT: REVELATION 16:13-21 KEY VERSE: “And there were voices, and thunders, and lightenings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great” (REVELATION 16:18). In addition to the biblical warnings of catastrophes that would herald the end time, natural disasters amongst others are part of the signs prevalent today. There are for instance reports of floods that sweep away entire communities, causing scores of deaths in major cities worldwide. We also have news of earthquakes, drought and forest fires that destroy lives and properties. Then on Sunday June 4, 2018, Elvocan de Fuego in Guatemala erupted violently killing at least 62 persons with many missing. It was a horrifying sight as human beings were being dug up - some dead, others severely wounded and few lucky ones partly or completely submerged in earth rubbles. It was a day of pain and sor...

Commend Yourself to God and His Word

Tuesday 30 th July 2019 The Word of Life Daily Devotional Commend Yourself to God and His Word Memory verse: - And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified. [Acts 20 :32] Bible Reading: - Acts 20:1 – 38 Message God is Jehovah – Elshaddai who is more than able to keep those that commit themselves unto him and his word. David said thy word has I kept in heart that I might not sin against you. If you have the word in you it becomes rhema [spoken word] that is potent enough to wade off your spiritual enemies like demons and devil their master. The Bible itself is logos [written word] which will do you no good if kept under your pillow or on dinning table without having it in you. This is one of the reasons why devil and his cohorts try as much as possible to hinder you from reading, meditating, memorizing and internalizing the word; there is nothing ...

Tender

Faith Food – July 29 By Rhema Team, Jul 29, 2019 Tender Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron.  — 1 TIMOTHY 4:2 Keep a tender conscience — don’t violate it — because it is your conscience, the voice of your spirit, that relates to your mind what the spirit of God is saying to you down inside. If you don’t keep a tender conscience, spiritual things will not be clear to you. During the mid-’30s, I pastored a country church and usually spent Sunday nights in the home of a dear old gentleman who was about eighty-nine years old. He and I didn’t get up as early as the rest of his family on this farm, so we had breakfast together about 8 o’clock. He’d have one of those old-fashioned coffee pots sitting on the woodstove with the coffee just boiling in it. I’ve seen him pour that boiling coffee into a mug, hold it up to his mouth, and drink the whole cup of boiling coffee in one g...

Don’t Believe The Devil’s Lies

Health Food – July 29 By Rhema Team, Jul 29, 2019 Don’t Believe The Devil’s Lies . . . When he [the devil] speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.  — JOHN 8:44 After the woman died, this Assembly of God pastor said to me, “When the doctors performed an autopsy on her, they couldn’t find any trace of cancer in any way, shape, or form in her body. Her liver was just as perfect as anyone else’s liver. They couldn’t find a trace of cancer. They don’t know why she died.” I know why she died. She began to doubt. She let the devil in and began to believe that she had cancer. She began to believe his lies. The doctors said, “We can’t find any reason why she died.” A miracle began in her life, yet she was robbed of the best that God had for her, because of doubt. I think if Jesus had been there to talk to her personally, He would have said, “O thou of little...

Faith Pleases God

Faith Pleases God Billy Graham's Daily Devotion Jul 29, 2019 You can never please God without faith, without depending on him. Anyone who wants to come to God must believe that there is a God and that he rewards those who sincerely look for him. –Hebrews 11:6 (TLB) Faith pleases God more than anything else. The Christian life is dependent upon faith. We stand on faith; we live on faith. Faith is loved and honored by God more than any other single thing. The Bible teaches that faith is the only approach that we have to God. No man has sins forgiven, no man goes to heaven, no man has assurance of peace and happiness, until he has faith in Jesus Christ. You may be saying, "God, I believe you are a great person, but I do not believe your Word; I do not believe what you say." In order to please God, you must believe Him. Perhaps your faith is small and weak. It does not matter how big your faith is, but rather, where your faith is. Is it in Christ, the Son of G...

DON’T BE A CARNAL CHRISTIAN.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL DATE: MONDAY 29TH JULY 2019 THEME: DON’T BE A CARNAL CHRISTIAN. MEMORISE: For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? 1 Corinthians 3:3 READ: Philippians 4:4-9 4 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. 5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. 6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and...

WRONG MARRIAGES!

DAILY MANNA MONDAY 29TH JULY, 2019 WRONG MARRIAGES! TEXT: EZRA 10:9-11 KEY VERSE: “And Ezra the priest stood up, and said unto them, Ye have transgressed, and have taken strange wives, to increase the trespass of Israel” (EZRA 10:10). Nothing punctures and deflates society and its civilizations more drastically than wrong attitude towards women and faulty marriages. The collapse of the Roman Empire as a result of flagrant abuse of womanhood and marriage quickly comes to mind. History had it that Roman artists and painters debased their women folk and indeed society by painting women and parts of their body on all imaginable objects. The consequences of those action were too far reaching for that society. Their supremacy as a world power then could not be sustained because of moral lapses. In our text, Ezra the priest knew that the nobles and the commoners in Israel were deeply involved in violating divine injunctions on marriage for Israelites. He knew vividly the severe ...

Hope in the Lord

Monday 29 th July 2019 The Word of Life Daily Devotional Hope in the Lord Memory verse: - Psalms 39:7 And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee. Bible Reading: - Psalms 39: 1 – 13 Message Hope is the virtuous desire for future good. The most important thing is to end well for scripture says the end of a thing is better than the beginning thereof; we are strangers and pilgrims in this world of sin and wickedness whose customs and deeds contradict that of God. To end well is to make it to heaven [the place of abode of the saints] where God dwells eternally. But if you have not thought of this and seek the Lord sincerely for the means of getting there, then you are of all men most miserable for the Bible says “ If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable ” [1Cor 15:19] The Psalmist penned it down in verse six of today’s text that “Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches...

CHRIST’S AMBASSADOR INDEED?

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL DATE: SUNDAY 28TH JULY 2019 THEME: CHRIST’S AMBASSADOR INDEED? MEMORISE: Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: 2 Corinthians 3:2 READ: Acts 4:13-16 13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. 14 And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. 15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves, 16 Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it. MESSAGE Who is an ambassador? An ambassador is simply an official who lives in a foreign country as the representative of his or her own country. Two things are striking in this definition. The first is that a...
