THE DEATH OF THE RIGHTEOUS.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL   DATE:  SATURDAY 1ST DECEMBER 2018. THEME: THE DEATH OF THE RIGHTEOUS.  MEMORISE: Who can count the dust of Jacob, and the number of the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his! Numbers 23:10 READ:   Revelation 14:9-13 9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: 11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. 12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and th

LESSON FROM A LEPER

DAILY    MANNA SATURDAY 1ST DECEMBER, 2018 LESSON FROM A LEPER TEXT: LUKE 17:12-19 KEY VERSE: "And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God" (LUKE 17:15).       An African adage says, if you express profound gratitude for a favour received, there is a certainty that you would take home more blessing. In other words, if prudently handled, one blessing could pave way for more favours.    From the Scripture reading, a leper who had a life-transforming meeting with our Lord Jesus Christ perfectly understood this principle of acknowledging a good deed in order to get more. Rejected by society, he and nine other lepers could not get help and acceptance elsewhere but in Jesus. There was neither Elisha nor Moses around to heal them. But Jesus, who is greater than both Moses and Elisha, was available.       Although Jesus asked them to show themselves to the priests to fulfil the Mosaic demand in Leviticus 13:2-6, the Lord

The Broken Home

The Broken Home Billy Graham's Daily Devotion Dec 01, 2018 “There is sin in their homes, and they are polluted to the depths of their souls. But I will call upon the Lord to save me—and he will.” –Psalm 55:15,16 (TLB) The broken home has become the number one social problem of America, and could ultimately lead to the destruction of our civilization. Since the basic unit of any society is the home, when the home begins to break, the society is on the way to disintegration. It is a threat to the American way of life. It does not make screaming headlines; but, like termites, it is eating away at the heart and core of the American structure. It is high time that our so-called experts on marriage, the family, and the home turn to the Bible. We have read newspaper columns and listened to counselors on the radio; psychiatrists have had a land-office business. In it all, the One who performed the first marriage in the Garden of Eden and instituted the union between man and

The Tangibility Of The Power Of God

Health Food – December 1 By Rhema Team, Dec 1, 2018 The Tangibility Of The Power Of God My And the whole multitude sought to touch him  [Jesus] : for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.  — LUKE 6:19 There is a parallel between electricity in the natural realm and the anointing, or power of God, in the spiritual realm. There are spiritual laws that govern the power of God, just as there are natural laws that govern the operation of electricity. The Lord Jesus Christ and the apostle Paul revealed and applied the laws of the Spirit of God and the power of God. The power of God is a tangible substance. It is a heavenly materiality. The word “tangible” means  capable of being touched  and  perceptible to the touch . It has to be tangible, because Jesus knew immediately when that power went out of him into the woman with the issue of blood (Mark 5:30). If it weren’t tangible, how would He have known? Not only was He aware of the outflow, the woman with the issue of blo

El Shaddai

Faith Food – December 1 By Rhema Team, Dec 1, 2018 El Shaddai And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I AM THE ALMIGHTY GOD; walk before me, and be thou perfect.  — GENESIS 17:1 The original Hebrew of this Old Testament verse reads that God said, “I am El Shaddai.” God was revealed to Israel by seven covenant names, one of which was El Shaddai — which literally means “the God who is more than enough,” or “the All-Sufficient One.” It will help your faith to think of God as “the One who is more than enough!” Throughout the Old Testament, God revealed Himself as El Shaddai — the God who is more than enough. For example, as God was bringing the children of Israel out of Egyptian bondage, Pharaoh’s soldiers went after them to recapture them and make them slaves again. On one side of the children of Israel was the wilderness; on the other side, mountains. The Red Sea lay before them. They seemingly were boxed in, but they looked t

Day and Night of Jesus on Earth

Saturday 1 st December, 2018 Words of Life Daily Devotional Day and Night of Jesus on Earth Memory Verse: - Luke 21:37 And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives. 38 And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him. Bible Reading: - Luke 21: 1 – 37 Message Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; the chief shepherd of our souls; the power and wisdom of God and the only way that leads to the father is worthy of our emulation if we want to see God on the last day for he is the way, the truth and the life, no man gets to father without him. God said we should behold him: Mt 12:18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles. Paul the apostle said we should look unto him: Heb 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our

SEASONED WITH SALT?

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL DATE: FRIDAY 30TH NOVEMBER 2018 MEMORISE: Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man. Colossians 4:6 READ: Ephesians 4:29 29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. MESSAGE As seen in today's memory verse, the Holy Spirit demands that our speech be seasoned with salt. When cooking, it does not matter how many delicious ingredients you have in the soup, if you don't add salt, your food may taste bland. In the same way, no matter how holy or filled with the Holy Spirit you claim to be, if your speech is not seasoned with salt, you are distasteful to God and man. In fact, all your claims are lies, because Luke 6:45 says: “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth th

GOD STILL ANSWERS PRAYERS

DAILY   MANNA FRIDAY 30TH NOVEMBER, 2018 GOD  STILL  ANSWERS  PRAYERS TEXT: GENESIS 25:12-26 KEY VERSE: "And Isaac intreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren: and the LORD was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived" (GENESIS 25:21).        In his book "Shaping History Through Prayer And Fasting", Derek Prince tells how his prayer and fasting changed the course of war in favour of the Allied Forces during the Second World War. He also told how he and his Jewish wife stood in for Israel in 1948 when the Syrians wanted to overrun them as they returned home to become a sovereign nation once again.    In our text, we see the generations of Ishmael, Abraham’s son from Hagar and his twelve princes, as God had promised Abraham. Also, we see Isaac intercede for his wife who had been barren for years and God’s answer by giving them twin children struggling in their mother’s womb.    God did not promise His children a trouble-free life, but ass

His Presence

His Presence Billy Graham's Daily Devotion Nov 30, 2018 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings . . .  –Philippians 3:10 W.C. Burns of India wrote, "Oh to have a martyr's heart, if not a martyr's crown." Popularity and adulation are far more dangerous for the Christian than persecution. It is easy, when all goes smoothly, to lose our sense of balance and our perspective. The important thing is to walk with Christ, to live for Christ, and to have one consuming passion—to please Him. Then, whatever happens, we know that He has permitted it in order to teach us some priceless lesson and to perfect us for His service. He will enrich our circumstances, be they pleasant or disagreeable, by the fact of His presence with us. What does living for Christ look like? Read: Choosing the Path of Holiness. Mercy and Grace of God

Friday 30 th November, 2018 Words of Life Daily Devotional Mercy and Grace of God Memory Verse: - Ex 33:19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. Bible Reading: - Ex 33: 1 – 23 Message Mercy of God comes upon a repentant sinner who had determined to confess and forsake all his sins at the point of its actualization. For the scripture says in: Pr 28:13 that he that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. If you need the pardon and mercy of God, do not think all is well when you have a secret sins to confess and restitutions to make; make haste to carry them out so shall thou have the mercy of God. Gal 6:16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God. As long as you continue in the will of

Midnight Praise

Faith Food – November 29 By Rhema Team, Nov 29, 2018 Midnight Praise And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.  — ACTS 16:25 Singing, praising, and thanksgiving all go together. Paul and Silas had been beaten with many stripes, cast into prison, and their feet put in stocks. But at midnight they prayed and sang praises to God — aloud. The other prisoners heard them! Most people in similar circumstances would have griped and complained. If they had been like some modern Christians, Silas would have said, “Paul, are you still there?” And Paul would have answered, “Where else would I be?” Silas would have complained, “I’ll tell you, my poor back is hurting so bad. I don’t understand why God let this happen to us. He knows we’ve tried to serve Him and do our best!” That kind of praying would have gotten Paul and Silas further in — instead of out! God didn’t have them thrown in jail; the devil did. But there’s truth and instruc

Satan at Work

Satan at Work Billy Graham's Daily Devotion Nov 29, 2018 In whom we have redemption . . . the forgiveness of sins. –Ephesians 1:7 Satan is at work in our world. The Bible is my authority. He exists and he has control over thousands of young people, whose hearts have never been captured by Jesus Christ. He has hundreds of agents writing pornographic literature and producing sex movies to pollute young minds. He has intellectuals in high positions teaching a hedonistic and permissive philosophy. Daily I come in contact with mixed-up people who are caught in the anguish of their own unpreparedness, intellectuals who have been seduced by false science, and rich men who are held in the grip of insecurity. They have no commitment to any goal. They lack an anchor for their real selves. And I long to take every one of them by the hand and lead them into the presence of the One who said, "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.&quo

Pattern Your Life After Christ

Thursday 29 th November, 2018 Words of Life Daily Devotional Pattern Your Life After Christ Memory Verse: - Col 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. Bible Reading: - Col 2:1 – 23 Message There are philosophy and vain deceit of the world, tradition of men and rudiments of the world that are not profitable and not godly and as a child of God you must abstain from them. You must not be ruled or guided by tradition of men because man must not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord. Worldly amusement, rudiments and worldliness in general is enmity against God and whosoever holds unto them becomes God’s enemy. Worldly fashion of wearing strange apparels that do not cover ones nakedness is not of God, but of the world; God says let your moderation be known unto all men for God is at hand; your dressing must not be too fla

EMPOWERED FOR IMPACT

DAILY    MANNA WEDNESDAY 28TH NOVEMBER, 2018   EMPOWERED  FOR  IMPACT 📜TEXT: ISAIAH 22:15-25 🔑📖KEY VERSE: "And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open" (ISAIAH 22:22).    David the anointed king of Israel was enthroned by the almighty God to impact the life, economy and military capability of the nation of Israel in his own time. In like manner, God lifted up His servant Eliakim, the son of Hilkiah and appointed him over the house of Judah to bring peace and succour to His afflicted people while captivity and anguish remained the lot of the enemy nations which had troubled God’s people.    It is noteworthy from our text that Eliakim was not a military leader in Israel but an administrator in the government of Hezekiah, king of Judah (2 Kings 18:18; Isaiah 36:3); yet God used him to give Judah and Jerusalem the needed respite. God has also empowered us through the Spirit

The Sufficiency of God

The Sufficiency of God Billy Graham's Daily Devotion Nov 28, 2018 I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.  –John 10:10 In God's economy, you must go down into the valley of grief before you can scale the heights of spiritual glory. You must become tired and weary of living alone before you seek and find the fellowship of Christ. You must come to the end of "self" before you can begin to live. The happiest day of my life was when I realized that my own ability, my own goodness, and my own morality were insufficient in the sight of God. I am not exaggerating when I say that my mourning was turned to joy, and my sighing into singing. Happy are they that mourn for the inadequacy of self, for they shall be comforted with the sufficiency of God.  Looking for comfort? Listen to this 60 second audio message. PRAYER FOR THE DAY Almighty God, You have given me real life through Jesus Christ. My soul praises You.

Be Filled

Faith Food – November 27 By Rhema Team, Nov 27, 2018 Be Filled  Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. — COLOSSIANS 3:16,17 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.  — 1 THESSALONIANS 5:18 Notice how yesterday’s scripture and today’s scripture are very similar. A song in the heart and the giving of thanks simply go hand-in-hand. And if you are filled with the Holy Spirit, you will experience this praise and this thanksgiving. If you don’t, then you’re simply not filled with the Spirit. Be filled! ( See  John 7:37-39, 14:16,17; Acts 1:4,5, 2:4, 8:14-17, 10:44-46, 19:1-3,6.) Then you’ll have a spirit of praise and a spirit of thanksgiving. Confession:  I let the word o

Live And Declare The Works Of The Lord

So after he was healed, this admiral couldn’t go back to being an officer. He appeared before Congress. I was impressed by the speech that he made. He told them about his healing and then he said, “Since being out of the hospital and reading the Bible daily, I’ve found that God has promised us at least seventy or eighty years, and I’m not even half that old. I could get a pension and sit down the rest of my life. But I want you gentlemen to know that I’m going to live my life out. I’m going to live for God first and my country second. Serving my country is all I’ve ever been trained for, and I want to serve my country. But I’m going to serve God first.” By a unanim

A wise Soul winner

Wednesday 28 th November, 2018 Words of Life Daily Devotional A wise Soul winner Memory Verse: - Pr 11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise. Bible Reading: - Luke 20: 1 – 47 Message A person is wise if he applies the acquired knowledge rightly; hence wisdom is the right application of knowledge and the scripture says he that winneth soul over to the Lord is wise. Jesus has the gift of words of knowledge and wisdom operating in his life because he was anointed without measure. In our text today the chief priests, scribes and elders came upon Jesus while the was somewhere teaching and preaching the gospel to the people demanding to know the authority he has to do all the good things he was doing. They voiced out and show their true figure of jealousy and envy when they could no longer contain it. By coming together and asking him the same question shows their oneness in evil and we must be wiser than them by being of the mi

You can if you follow Paul’s admonition in Ephesians 5:18-20, “. . .  be filled with the Spirit  . . . .” And just after giving this admonition to these Pentecostal people, Paul gives some ways to keep filled with the Spirit: “ Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord. ” An overflowing heart will be your testimony! Listen To Your Spirit

Health Food – November 26 By Rhema Team, Nov 26, 2018 Listen To Your Spirit The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly.  — PROVERBS 20:27 This young admiral who was dying of liver cancer then said to the Lord, “I know the doctor said that ninety percent of my liver is already eaten up with cancer and that I’m operating on ten percent of it. I know the doctor said that I’ll be dead in ten days. I’m not afraid to die now. But I just can’t believe that it is Your will for me to die at my age and leave my wife and two children. I can’t believe that. I know that You can do anything. I know that if I had a headache, You could heal a headache. I’m sure You have that much power. But it would be just as easy for You to heal cancer of the liver as it would be to heal a headache. I’m going to ask You to heal me, and believe that You’ll do it.” Scriptures began to come back to him that he learned as a child in Sunday school. He began to quote th

Corrupt not thyself

Tuesday 27 th November, 2018 Words of Life Daily Devotional Corrupt not thyself Memory Verse: - Ex 32:7 And the Lord said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves: Bible Reading: - Ex 32: 1 – 35 Message How one can corrupt himself or herself was hereby revealed in today word of God and one of it is making and worshipping the work of our hands; it is idolatry which our forefather did and reaped the displeasure of God. Its consequence is grievous and devastating for twenty three thousand men died as a result of this rebellion in the wilderness. When you value the work of your hand and business above the precepts and commandments of God it is idolatry and it is a dangerous way to tread, be warned. When you are suppose to be in the church at your duty post of serving people of God, but you prefer selling and buying at that particular time, it is self indulgence and self corruption which God is n

Realities of Life

Realities of Life Billy Graham's Daily Devotion Nov 27, 2018 Casting down imaginations . . . and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. –2 Corinthians 10:5 Thousands of people have made plans to escape from the realities of life. A new word has come into common usage the last few years. That word is "escapism." The dictionary defines it as "a retreat from reality into an imaginary world." The escape of imagination. Solomon spoke of the unregenerate heart as one which is inclined to excessive fantasy. The dream world Satan promotes always ends with disillusionment. Thousands of people live in an unreal dream world, while shirking their responsibilities toward their families and toward God. The Bible teaches that with Christ in your heart, you can face the realities of life. Even though they are hard, the grace of God will give you greater joy and pleasure than any dream world to which you try to escape.  Looking for joy

BEFORE THE GATE SHUTS

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL DATE: TUESDAY 27TH NOVEMBER 2018 THEME: BEFORE THE GATE SHUTS MEMORISE: For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. Romans 9:15 READ: Ecclesiastes 8:11-13 11 Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. 12 Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him: 13 But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God. MESSAGE One observable fact about human beings is that anytime they engage in wrong deeds that deserve to be punished and the punishment does not occur, they will assume that they can press forward with their evil deeds without any consequences. In other words, impunity reigns where j

DON'T JUMP THE PRECIPICE

DAILY     MANNA TUESDAY 27TH NOVEMBER, 2018 DON'T  JUMP  THE  PRECIPICE TEXT: MARK 10:1-12 KEY VERSE: "And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her" (MARK 10:11).     The divorce dilemma is a growing social scourge that must be carefully avoided by everyone. The pangs and pains trailing failed marriages make it imperative for all sections of the social strata to understand the root of this plague and identify effective ways of preventing its occurrence. Jesus, the great Teacher and Lord of all, has the panacea to this social problem.   His recommendation is, "What therefore God hath joined together, let no man put asunder" (Mark 10:9). Marital relationship between two male and female adults, with parental consent, conducted based on any religious or cultural belief, are binding and indissoluble by scriptural standards.     Divorce dilemma is such a precipice that no person should contemplate

Deuteronomy 29:29 READ: Daniel 2:25-28 25 Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said thus unto him, I have found a man of the captives of Judah, that will make known unto the king the interpretation. 26 The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, Art thou able to make known unto me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof? 27 Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, show unto the king; 28 But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days.   Thy drea

NEVER AN UNBELIEVER!

DAILY    MANNA MONDAY 26TH NOVEMBER, 2018   NEVER  AN  UNBELIEVER! TEXT: GENESIS 24:1-9 KEY VERSE: "And I will make thee swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell" (GENESIS 24:3).     Getting hooked in marriage to a wrong partner is the worst pitfall any serious-minded individual can ever encounter in life. Abraham, the patriarch and father of Isaac did not want to put-at-risk the life and destiny of his son and lineage by marrying any of the daughters of Canaan.    The problems of unequal yoke in marriage, business, spiritual and secular endeavours are better imagined than experienced.    Believers must be wary of who they want to partner with in short and long-standing relationships. The scriptural injunction which serves as a guide for Christian pilgrims in this matter today is: "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers…" (1 C

Enjoy Life

Enjoy Life Billy Graham's Daily Devotion Nov 26, 2018 Now you are happy with the inexpressible joy that comes from heaven itself. –1 Peter 1:8 (TLB) Christians are to enjoy life and enjoy one another. When children see no joy in their home, no joy in your Christianity, they will not be attracted by it. When they see you excited about going to a ball game, or watching television, and then dragging around to do spiritual things, they will soon get the idea that Christianity does not mean much to you. Your attitude will rub off. My wife says that the best way to get a child to eat his food is to see his parents enjoying theirs. Our children will not be attracted to Christ if we make Him seem dull.  Does turning to Jesus mean giving up all the fun things in life? Read Billy Graham's answer. PRAYER FOR THE DAY May I live so close to You, Jesus, that those around me will see Your joy.

Whose Son Is He?

Whose Son Is He? Billy Graham's Daily Devotion Nov 25, 2018 To us there is but one God, the Father . . . and one Lord Jesus Christ . . .  –1 Corinthians 8:6 Ultimately, in one way or another, or at one time or another, we shall be faced with this question: What think ye of Christ? Whose Son is He? If Jesus Christ is not who He claimed to be, He is a deceiver, or an egomaniac. We must answer this question with both belief and action. We must not only believe something about Jesus, but we must do something about Him. We must accept Him, or reject Him. Jesus made clear who He was, and why He came into the world. He asked His disciples, "Whom do men say that I, the Son of man, am?" They told Him of a variety of designations on the human level. Then Jesus turned to them and asked, "But whom say ye that I am?" Whereupon Peter replied with his historic affirmation, "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God" (Matthew 16:13-16). This is th

He stated, “All of these facts are true, and we endorse this article to show what faith and prayer will do.” One of the youngest officers ever in the United States Navy—an admiral— got cancer. Ninety percent of his liver was gone. He was functioning on ten percent of his liver when the cancer was discovered. They put him in the “terminal ward” at the hospital. Everyone who was placed there was given up to die. The doctors said that he would be dead in ten days. The young officer shared, “The fear in that death ward was so much in manifestation that it seemed you could cut it with a knife. The very atmosphere was filled with fear. I was too! But as I lay there in th
