Day and Night of Jesus on Earth
Memory Verse: - Luke 21:37 And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives. 38 And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him.
Bible Reading: - Luke 21: 1 – 37
Message
Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; the chief shepherd of our souls; the power and wisdom of God and the only way that leads to the father is worthy of our emulation if we want to see God on the last day for he is the way, the truth and the life, no man gets to father without him.
God said we should behold him:
Mt 12:18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.
Paul the apostle said we should look unto him:
Heb 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Jesus himself said with all affirmation and assurance that we should learn of him:
Mt 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
During the day he will be in the temple teaching the word of God and in the night he retires to the mountain of Olives to report the day to the father and renews his strength for the next day, no time for frivolities.
He urged us to watch and pray if we want to escape the tribulation that is looming upon all nations; upon the earth as a whole and to stand before the son of man
Just like him, while we go about our daily secular work, we must do it in him, watching over all our actions in line with his words and pray always in our heart in all holiness and righteousness redeeming the time for we know that our adversaries are not resting.
Pray, watch, and hold forth the word of life to those around us and pray for their salvation which is our main duty of remaining here as Christ’s ambassadors as we go about our daily labour in our chosen careers.
God help us to hold onto his banner, preaching him everywhere we go and when temptation surfaces, we should immediately receive grace to say no in Jesus name.
Confession of the Day
I will pray, watch and preach the word by His special grace in season and out of season.
Prayer Points
God help me to be like you; print thine own image deep on my heart; empowers me to be prayerful, faithful and dutiful as you are in Jesus name [Amen]
