DISCHARGED AND ACQUITTED

DAILY    MANNA MONDAY  1ST OCTOBER,  2018    DISCHARGED  AND  ACQUITTED TEXT: ROMANS 3:9-24 KEY VERSE: "Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus" (ROMANS 3:24).     A young man once presented himself for water baptism; he was asked whether he had found the Saviour. His reply was: "I didn’t find Him; He found me." What a quintessence of our justification and redemption through our Lord, Jesus Christ. As lost sheep, we wandered away from Him into sin but He patiently, perseveringly and lovingly sought for and found us out of our lost condition. What great love He has bestowed upon us!     We were like criminals brought before the almighty Judge and vehemently accused by Satan, the accuser of the brethren and our prosecutor who will have us condemned for all eternity. But the Judge, in His graciousness, used His royal prerogative to discharge and acquit us. In doing this, all our records of offences are wiped out from the

WATCH YOUR NUTRITION

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL   DATE:  MONDAY 1ST OCTOBER 2018 WATCH YOUR NUTRITION . MEMORISE: Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. Colossian 2:8 READ:     2 Peter 2:1-3 1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. MESSAGE As a Christian living in these end times, we have to be very careful of the source and nature of what we allow into our minds. In today’s bible reading, the Holy Spirit warns us to be wary

Our Defeated Foe

Our Defeated Foe Billy Graham's Daily Devotion Oct 01, 2018 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword . . . –Hebrews 4:12 How do we overcome the devil in everyday life? First, we need to recognize that the devil is a defeated foe. The Son of God came to undo the work of the devil. The crucifixion of Christ, which looked like a mighty victory for Satan, turned out to be a great triumph for God, because it was on the cross that Jesus took your sins and my sins. God laid our sins on Christ, so that when our Lord bowed His head and said, "It is finished," He was referring to the plan of redemption and salvation. Then . . . we are to resist the devil. If we resist him, Scripture says, he will flee from us. Jesus overcame the devil not by argument but simply by quoting Scripture. That is why it is so important to learn and memorize Scripture passages.  Are you struggling with temptation? Read this story about how to defeat

You Have Rights and Privileges

Health Food Devotional You Have Rights and Privileges September 30, 2018 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Cor. 5:17) So many people may know the Lord Jesus as their personal Savior and yet not know a thing in the world about their rights and privileges in Him. They don't know who they are in Christ, because you'll still hear them saying, "I'm so weak and unworthy." No, they're not!  If your spirit has been born again, you've become a new man in Christ Jesus (2 Cor. 5:17). And God doesn't make any unworthy creatures. You're a new creature in Christ Jesus. You have the life and nature of God in you.  Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4). You are the righteousness of God in Christ (2 Cor. 5:21).  You have been redeemed from the hand of the enemy. Colossians 1:13 says, "Who hath delivered us from the power of darknes

Helper

Faith Food Devotional Helper September 30, 2018 "And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever" (John 14:16 AMP). It is sad to realize that some Christians ignore the Holy Spirit who is indwelling within them. I believe they mistakenly think He will come in, take control of their lives, and make them do whatever needs to be done automatically with no effort on their part - but He won't. Demons do that. They are the ones that make people do things which the people don't want to do. Demons drive, force, and control people. The Holy Spirit, on the other hand, is a Gentleman. He will never force you to do anything against your will. In the Scriptures we see that the Holy Spirit leads, guides, prompts, and urges. He may give you a gentle "push," but He will never force you to act. Some complain, "Why doesn't God do this or

Prince of Peace and Good will

Monday 1 st October, 2018 Words of Life Daily Devotional Prince of Peace and Good will Memory Verse: - Luke 2:14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. Bible Reading: - Luke 2: 1 – 52 Message The arrival of Jesus Christ the prince of peace into this world of sin was announced by angels and heavenly hosts saying “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men” The plan of God was that peace should reign in the world if and only if the world welcomes and accepts the Prince of peace into their individual lives; but unfortunately he was rejected, maltreated and crucified in accordance to the fore knowledge of God that he should shed the blood for the remission of their sins; and was raised from the death for our justification. He is alive today; he saves and delivers from animosity, clamor, hatred, malice, anger and all vices that negate peaceful coexistence. You cannot know true peace with yourself, with God and you

Our Greatest Need

Our Greatest Need Billy Graham's Daily Devotion Sep 30, 2018 I stretch forth my hands unto thee; my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land... –Psalm 143:6 Not long ago I visited the dean of a great American university. We looked out the window of his office and watched hundreds of students walking to their classes. I asked the dean, "What is the greatest problem at this university?" He thought a moment and answered, "Emptiness." So many people today are bored, lonely, searching for something. You can see it in their faces. One girl home from college told her wealthy father, "Father, I want something but I don't know what it is." That's true of many people; we want something to meet the deepest problems of our lives, but we haven't found it. David said, "I have found it. I shall not want." The Apostle Paul expressed it, "I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content." You don't have to giv

MEMORISE: And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. Matthew 14:23 READ: Matthew 5:14-16 14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Acts 13:1-2 1Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. 2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them. WEALTHY  PAUPERS

DAILY    MANNA SUNDAY 30TH  SEPTEMBER, 2018      WEALTHY  PAUPERS TEXT: MATTHEW 19:23-30 KEY VERSE: "Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven" (MATTHEW 19:23).     The New York Times of March 15, 1931 carried the obituary of Ella Wendel who died at the age of 78. She was unmarried and left a family fortune of more than $100,000,000. She was the youngest of the Wendel family of six sisters and one brother, John, who was the eldest. John was able to influence his sisters not to marry and they all lived in the same house like paupers. By the time she died, Ella Wendel had only one dress which she made herself and she used it for 25 years. She died a wealthy woman, but her family’s compulsion to hold on to their possessions made her live like a poor person. The Wendels provide a classic example of how not to handle wealth.     In our passage for meditation today, Jesus gave His disciples true pe

What Is Confession?

Health Food Devotional What Is Confession? September 29, 2018 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Rom. 10:9) What is confession? First, it's affirming something that we believe. Second, it's testifying to something that we know. And third, it's witnessing for a truth that we've embraced.  What are we to confess? Well, our confession should center around five things:  What God in Christ has wrought for us in His great plan of redemption.  What God through the Word and the Holy Spirit has wrought in us in the New Birth and the baptism in the Holy Ghost.  What we are to God the Father in Christ Jesus.  What Jesus is doing for us now at the right hand of the Father in His present-day ministry.  What the Word of God will do through our lips. Now you cannot confess or witness about things you do not know about. It's what you personally know

Ability

Faith Food Devotional Ability September 29, 2018 "…For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people" (2 Cor. 6:16). Few Christians seem to be conscious of the fact that God lives in them. They couldn't be and still talk the way they do. What do I mean? When a need arises in their life, some Christians are quick to say, "No, I can't do that." Why? Because they're trusting in themselves, or the flesh, to put them over. They know they don't have the ability in themselves to do it. But if we are conscious that God is in us, then we know He has the ability to do anything. So we can stop saying, "I can't," and we can begin saying with confidence, "I can - because I'm trusting God! I can - because God is in me! I can - because greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world!" No matter what you face, and you may b

The Blood of the Lamb

Sunday 30 th September, 2018 Words of Life Daily Devotional The Blood of the Lamb Memory Verse: - Ex 12:13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt. Bible Reading: - Ex 12: 1 – 51 Message The deliverance of Israelites from Egyptian’s bondage was a great one wrought by a great God by His mighty hand exactly four hundred and thirty years after their servitude. It was a great deliverance because they were preserved on the night of destruction of the first born of Egyptians by the token of the blood of a spotless lamb on their door posts and the lintel of their houses. The destroyer pass over them and the plague was not upon them because of the blood of the lamb. They were preserved, protected and set free from bondage by reason of the blood of the lamb. The greatest miracle of salvation, deliverance from sins a

Do Not Compromise

Do Not Compromise Billy Graham's Daily Devotion Sep 29, 2018 Out of his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you the mighty inner strengthening of his Holy Spirit. –Ephesians 3:16 (TLB) Horace Pitkin, the son of a wealthy merchant, was converted and went to China as a missionary. He wrote to his friends in America, saying, "It will be but a short time till we know definitely whether we can serve Him better above or here." Shortly afterward, a mob stormed the gate of the compound where Pitkin defended the women and children. He was beheaded and his head was offered at the shrine of a heathen god, while his body was thrown into a pit with the bodies of nine Chinese Christians. Sherwood Eddy, writing about him, said, "Pitkin won more men by his death than he ever could have won by his life." Christ needs people today who are made of martyr stuff! Dare to take a strong, uncompromising stand for Him.  In this message, Billy Graham says the Ameri

DIVINE  DIET  FOR  THE  DISCOURAGED

DAILY    MANNA SATURDAY 29TH SEPTEMBER, 2018 DIVINE  DIET  FOR  THE  DISCOURAGED TEXT: 1 KINGS 19:1-8 KEY VERSE: "And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee" (1 KINGS 19:7).    William Ward once described discouragement as "dissatisfaction with the past, distaste for the present and distrust of the future. It is ingratitude for the blessings of yesterday, indifference to the opportunities of today and insecurity regarding strength for tomorrow. It is unawareness of the presence of beauty, unconcern for the needs of fellowman and unbelief in the promises of old. It is impatience with time, immaturity of thought and impoliteness to God."    Such was the experience of Elijah in today’s text. God used him to bring down fire from heaven on the sacrifice on mount Carmel. People rallied round him to destroy the false prophets of Baal. Now, a threatening message from Queen J

SELFISHLY PROSPEROUS?

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL   DATE:  SATURDAY 29TH SEPTEMBER 2018 SELFISHLY PROSPEROUS? MEMORISE: He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse. Proverb 28:27 READ:    Luke 16:19-26 19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: 20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, 21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in t

The Importance of Your Words

Health Food Devotional The Importance of Your Words September 28, 2018 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. (Prov. 18:21) In 1951, I was holding a meeting in a town in Texas. We had day and night teaching services. Between the services, I would walk up and down the aisles of the church, praying and reading my Bible.  One day, I was reading the Book of Mark as I was on my knees near the altar. I got tired, so I sat down on the floor and finished reading the Book of Mark. Now I wasn't even thinking about Mark 11:23.  I was thinking about the sixteenth chapter of Mark, where Jesus said, "Go into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature." Then I got tired of sitting, so I just lay down on my back.  As I was lying there on my back with my hands under my head, staring at the ceiling, I came to the place my mind got quiet. Then I heard these words on the inside of me: "Did you notice in Mark

The Greater One Within

Faith Food Devotional The Greater One Within September 28, 2018 "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world" (1 John 4:4). It should be common practice for you to say in every crisis of life: "I am a victor. I am more than a conqueror. The Creator dwells in me. The Greater One lives in me. He can put me over. The Greater One will make me a success. I can't fail." That's not bragging on you; it's bragging on the Greater One who is in you. And it will put Him to work for you! If you're a born-again, Spirit-filled believer, you have in you, ready for your use, everything you will ever need to put you over. The divine potential of all the power that there is, indwells you! If you will believe the Bible and begin to confess what it says, the Greater One will rise up in you and give illumination to your mind, direction to your spirit, health to your body, and help in ever

A Chaste Virgin Espoused to Christ

Saturday 29 th September, 2018 Words of Life Daily Devotional A Chaste Virgin Espoused to Christ Memory Verse: - 2Co 11:2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. Bible Reading: - 2 Co 11:1 – 33 Message A true believer in Christ must have experienced the greatest miracle of redemption that is in Christ Jesus; otherwise such believer is not of Christ. At salvation, miracle of regeneration occurs in the spirit, and the inner man, the real you is reborn, recreated by God, changed from spiritual darkness to the marvelous light of Christ so much that things you use to do before that are ungodly, you do them no more. No more fornication, adultery, deception, drunkenness, revellings, stealing, falsification of accounts and documents, etc. At the point of true conversion, a spiritual garment or robe of righteousness is put upon us by our bridegroom Jesus Christ and we become his

OUR HELP IN TIME OF NEED

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16 - SEPTEMBER 28 -  OUR HELP IN TIME OF NEED If you are facing a challenge right now, I want you to know that you have a standing invitation from your heavenly Father to come boldly to the throne of grace to “obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” The phrase “help in time of need” means that you get healing when you are sick, provisions when you are in lack, restoration when your relationship with a loved one breaks down, and favor when news of job cuts or bad prospects are rife. “Pastor Prince, how can I come boldly when I have been a lousy Christian?” You can come boldly because you come to God by the blood of Jesus Christ and not by how you have lived your life. So whenever you come into God’s presence, you don’t have to be afraid that your sins will be exposed because the blood of Jesus has removed every one of them. God does not se

Then said the king's servants that ministered unto him, There is nothing done for him. Esther 6:3 READ: Esther 6:1-12 1 On that night could not the king sleep, and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king. 2 And it was found written, that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king's chamberlains, the keepers of the door, who sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus. 3 And the king said, What honour and dignity hath been done to Mordecai for this? Then said the king's servants that ministered unto him, There is nothing done for him. 4 And the king said, Who is in the court? A CALL TO PRAISE

DAILY MANNA FRIDAY 28TH SEPTEMBER, 2018 A CALL TO PRAISE TEXT: PSALM 105:1-7 KEY VERSE: "Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works" (PSALM 105:2). David knew and loved the Lord. He was a man that saw God’s hand all around him. He felt compelled therefore to give thanks unto the Lord everywhere and every time. The psalm in focus has been associated with the return of the ark to Jerusalem. David called on the people to give thanks to the Lord while making His deeds known. This is a principle we must imbibe and continue with wherever we are. Furthermore, praising God helps us to remember the wonderful things He has done, as well as His judgments and decisions which favour us, His chosen ones. Learning to praise and appreciate God is a good habit to cultivate. Sadly, people who chant human praise receive a lot of commendation from their human agents. We are to "enter his gates with thanksgiving" and His courts with praise. We

God Inside

Faith Food Devotional God Inside September 27, 2018 "Do you not discern and understand that you [the whole church at Corinth] are God's temple (His sanctuary), and that God's Spirit has His permanent dwelling in you [to be at home in you, collectively as a church and also individually]? (1 Cor. 3:16 AMP). God Himself, after He makes us new creatures, actually makes our bodies His home. No longer does He dwell in an earth-made Holy of Holies. God says, "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you?" (1 Cor. 6:19). We need to become mindful that we are the temple of the Holy Spirit - we have God inside of us! Chiseled on the front of a beautiful church in Texas is an Old Testament scripture declaring that the building was the temple of God. I get provoked every time I drive by. Why? Because these people have a lie right on the front of their church building! To say that a church building is the house of God because He dwell

The Power of a Right Confession

Health Food Devotional The Power of a Right Confession September 27, 2018 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Rom. 10:10) Notice this scripture says that we are not only to believe with our heart, but we are also to confess with our mouth. It says that confession brings about salvation.  Actually, all that we receive from God is received that way - through faith. It's always with the heart that we believe and with the mouth that we confess. With the heart we believe for healing, and with the mouth confession is made unto healing. Everything we receive from God comes this way.  Now the same thought appears in another text that we've looked at: For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he s

The Word is God

Friday 28 th September, 2018 Words of Life Daily Devotional The Word is God Memory Verse: - John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Bible Reading: - John 1: 1 – 51 Message Your word is you and does not carry any weight beyond your domain, beyond your house because a man must authority over his family with all his children under subjection. But if you are a man of authority in government like governor, president etc, your word carries weight beyond your domain – within and without your country. From our text today, Bible says the word was with God right from beginning and the word was God, yes! The word of God is God himself; God is powerful, mighty and miraculous, so is his word – his word is weighty, mighty, creative, and full of life; and where the word of the king is, there is power. If the word is in you as a true believer, then the greater one is in you; greater than he that is in the world is in you and you will
