AUTHORITY TO FORBID.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL    DATE:  SATURDAY 1ST SEPTEMBER 2018 AUTHORITY TO FORBID.   MEMORISE: Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Mark 11:24 READ:     Matthew 18:18-20 18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. 19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. MESSAGE The magnitude of the Lord’s blessings under the new covenant is so astounding that we can barely comprehend the full dimensions of it. It is so great that even angels desire to understand (1 Peter 1:12). The Holy Spirit describes its scope in 1 Corinthians 2...

BEHOLD  THE  COMFORTER

DAILY     MANNA SATURDAY  1ST  SEPTEMBER,  2018 BEHOLD  THE  COMFORTER TEXT: JOHN 16:1-15 KEY VERSE: "Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you" (JOHN 16:7). There is no other time that we seriously need the Comforter than in this present age. Christ, who knows the end right from the beginning, has promised believers of all ages the ministry of the Holy Spirit also known as the Comforter. The Holy Spirit is the third Person in the divine Trinity sent by both the Father and the Son to the world. The text for today reveals how Christ spoke of the need for the Comforter. Jesus Christ was very compassionate with His followers as He warned and foretold what would befall them by the time He ascends to heaven. It is normal for believers to be unjustly maltreated, persecuted, excommunicated and even killed for ...

The First Missionary

The First Missionary Billy Graham's Daily Devotion Sep 01, 2018 Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. –Matthew 4:19 Jesus Himself was the first missionary! He did not sit by passively and let those who happened to be interested in His teaching come to Him. He went out where the sick, the sorrowing, and the sad were, and expounded His message of joy, healing, and salvation. Even at a tender age, He went to the Temple and "taught" the doctors and lawyers who were entrenched in the old traditions. He found His way to the seaside and intruded upon the life of the commonest of laborers, saying, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." Wherever He went He challenged, uprooted, and changed men. And at length they nailed Him to a cross because He had upset their selfish, secure, smug way of life. Not only was Jesus a missionary, but He pledged His followers to be missionaries, too!  Listen: Billy Graham preaches on the cost of not follow...

Don't Wait for Evidence To Believe

Health Food Devotional Don't Wait for Evidence To Believe August 31, 2018 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. (John 2:5) In John chapter 2, we see the account of Jesus attending the wedding in Cana with his mother. His mother told Him that they had run out of wine.  Jesus said to the servants, "...Fill the waterpots with water.." (John 2:7).  Let's continue reading in John. And they filled them up to the brim. And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now. (John 2:7-10) The water became wine. Now what if the serv...

Obeying Your Spirit

Faith Food Devotional Obeying Your Spirit August 31, 2018 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works" (2 Tim. 3:16-17). Did you notice that meditating in the Word, practicing the Word, and giving the Word first place - the first three steps in training the human spirit - come before obeying your spirit? If your spirit has had the privilege of meditating in the Word, of practicing the Word, of putting the Word first, then your spirit is an authoritative guide. In the process of time, if you will follow the four steps we have just studied, you can know the will of God even in all the minor details of your life! But for this to happen, God's Word, not human reasoning, must dominate your thinking. The Word has been given to us by the Holy Spirit. If the Word is dominating us, then the Holy Spirit ...

Increase Your Faith

Saturday 1 st September, 2018 Words of Life Daily Devotional Increase Your Faith Memory Verse: - Lk 17:5 And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith. Bible Reading: - Luke 17: 1 – 37 Message Faith is acting on God’s words, on what God says; it is absolute trust in God without staggering, wavering or doubting; it is the substance[assurance] of things hoped for, the evident [proof] of things not seen; it is calling those things that be not as though they were. For instance, the word of God says “we are healed by the stripes of our Lord Jesus Christ” not that he is trying to heal you, but that you are already healed. When sickness comes and you are sure that you are not a reprobate, then you pray and rise up to do things you are not able to do before. Even though the symptoms are still there you claim your healing as being from not being; you confessed you have it; you hope against hope and you will have it. Jesus said you desire, pray, believe and then have i...

BE  NOT  AFRAID

DAILY     MANNA FRIDAY  31ST  AUGUST,  2018 BE  NOT  AFRAID TEXT: JOSHUA 11:1-9 KEY VERSE: "And the LORD said unto Joshua, Be not afraid because of them: for to morrow about this time will I deliver them up all slain before Israel: thou shalt hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire" (JOSHUA 11:6). Many forces wage war against a believer’s soul. Daily closeness to God is the only means through which one can get encouragement to face and overcome all these forces. This was the experience of Joshua in the text. At the beginning of his ministry, God had revealed to him the secret of success (Joshua 1:8). This, he held on to all through his battles and conquests for the children of Israel. The enemy forces had combined against Joshua but God encouraged him to fight with them and He delivered them into his hands. He took their cities and destroyed the inhabitants. The Canaanites had come with their mighty armies to face th...

I am That I am

Friday 31 st August, 2018 Words of Life Daily Devotional I am That I am Memory Verse: - Ex 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. Bible Reading: - Ex 3: 1 – 22 Message God that answers prayers and to whom all flesh must come in a bid to finding solutions to their problems and destructions revealed himself to Moses in a flame of fire in our text this morning as I AM THAT I AM. God is whom he is yesterday, today and forever. He heard the cries of Israelites from holy heaven and come down to deliver them from their afflictions and servitude. I am that I am is still whom He is today – he hears and answers prayers; he saves and delivers from afflictions; he is alive yesterday and today; he is as powerful today as he was yesterday; he was mighty yesterday in the days of old and is more powerful today than yesterday. His power was only given to prophets in the Old Testament, but t...

WHEN THE BEST COMES.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL DATE: FRIDAY 31ST AUGUST 2018 WHEN THE BEST COMES. MEMORISE: And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now. John 2:10 READ: 1 Samuel 16:1-13 1And the LORD said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons. 2 And Samuel said, How can I go? if Saul hear it, he will kill me. And the LORD said, Take an heifer with thee, and say, I am come to sacrifice to the LORD. 3 And call Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will shew thee what thou shalt do: and thou shalt anoint unto me him whom I name unto thee. 4 And Samuel did that which the LORD spake, and came to Bethlehem. And the elders of the town trembled at his coming, and said, Comest thou peaceably? 5 An...

At Thy Word, I Will

Health Food Devotional At Thy Word, I Will August 30, 2018 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.  (Luke 5:5) In Luke chapter 5, we see an example of a person who acted on the Word and got results. Peter and John had been fishing. They had fished all night and had caught nothing.  Then Jesus told Peter, "...Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught" (Luke 5:4).  Peter said, "...Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net" (Luke 5:5).  What change would come in our lives if we said, "At Your Word, I will!" What change would come if we would just do it because the Word said so, whether we felt like it or not.  You see, we've clung to the theories of men and have ignored the living Word of God. Healing and victory belong to you and to me. The Bib...

Giving the Word First Place

Faith Food Devotional Giving the Word First Place August 30, 2018 "Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counselors" (Ps. 119:24).  When the crises or tests come, too many Christians say, "What are we going to do now?"  The crises of life come to us all. But if you are Word-oriented, the first thing you will think about is, "What does the Word say about it?"  I pastored nearly twelve years, and I found that churches have problems just like families do. They have discipline problems, financial problems, and so forth.  I never discussed church problems with the people, because the more you talk about problems, the bigger they seem to get. But sometimes my deacon board would talk about church problems, and sure enough, the more they talked about them, the bigger the problems seemed to get.  Then one of the deacons would look at me and say, "Oh, Brother Hagin, what in the world are we going to do?"  I'd smile and say, "We...

Hope Beyond Death

The righteous hath hope in his death. —Proverbs 14:32 We don’t like to talk about death; it’s the forbidden subject of our generation. Yet it’s real for all of us. Sometimes on television I see motion pictures featuring actors who are no longer living. They seem very much alive in the picture, but they are dead. Some of them were my personal friends. Death is real, and when we die, that is a battle we have to fight all alone. Nobody can be with us in that hour, but David said he had found an answer that would take the fear of death away. David said that there is an answer to death, there is a hope beyond death. That hope is centered in the risen Christ. Paul wrote that to be “absent from the body” is to be “present with the Lord.” So the fear of death is removed. Watch: Billy Graham preaches how to be ready for Heaven . Prayer for the day Lord Jesus, with complete trust I look toward that day when my soul will be with You for...

God's Word Is Good

Health Food Devotional God's Word Is Good August 29, 2018 Then said the Lord unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.  (Jer. 1:12) I remember another situation in which I had to act on what the banker said. I needed a car that could pull my trailer up mountainous roads. So I bought a 1955 V8 Chevrolet.  Well, I didn't have the money to buy it. I found a salesman who would let me have it at cost. However, instead of letting me have it at cost, it cost him one hundred and fifty dollars to sell it to me.  So I called from California to Garland, Texas, to speak to my banker. I said, "Mr. Mitchell, I am buying a three-quarter ton pick-up truck." Then I told him the price. He said, "Wow! There's got to be some mistake here."  So the salesman got on the phone with Mr. Mitchell and said, "I'm staying with the figure I gave him. We made a mistake. We figured it wrong. He's getting the truck at one hundred...

Doing Philippians 4:7-8

Faith Food Devotional Doing Philippians 4:7- 8 August 29, 2018 "And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things" (Phil. 4:7-8).  Many people want what verse seven talks about, but they don't want to do what verse six says to do in order to get it. In order to get what verse seven says, you have to practice verse six, which we studied yesterday.  People who worry and fret, continually think on the wrong side of life. They continually talk unbelief. If something isn't true, honest, just, pure, lovely, and of a good report, then don't think about it. Make it meet all these qualifications. Some things you hear may be true, but ...

Make Room in Your Heart

Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; that ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven . . .  —Matthew 5:43–45 When H. G. Wells summed up the influence of Jesus in history, he said, “Is it any wonder that this Galilean is too much for our small hearts?” And yet the heart of man, though small, is big enough for Christ to live in, if man will only make room for Him. Christ instilled the spirit of Christian love in His followers, so that they lived without malice and died without rancor. The love that Christ talked about can only be given to us by God. It is one of the fruits of the Spirit. When you come to Jesus Christ, He transforms you. Your past is forgiven. You receive a power to love men, beyond your natural ability to love. T...

Abundant Consolation by Christ

Thursday 30 th August, 2018 Words of Life Daily Devotional Abundant Consolation by Christ Memory Verse: - 2Co 1:5 for as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. Bible Reading: - 2 Co 1: 1 – 24 Message Many are the afflictions of the righteous but God will deliver us from them all. He that will live godly and righteously in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution for Christ himself said in this life you will have tribulations; but be of good cheers for I have overcome the world. The world hates Christ and persecutes him to the point of death and he said if they persecute me they will persecute you. If a soul was by the grace of God translated from satanic kingdom into the kingdom of God; the world will react and will persecute the preachers of the word as well as repentant sinner. This they do to demoralize both the evangelist and the saved one. Paul was one of Christ’s apostles that went through fierce and cruel persecutions....

RAISE THAT WEAK PERSON.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL DATE: THURSDAY 30TH AUGUST 2018 TOPIC: -  RAISE THAT WEAK PERSON. MEMORISE: Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees. Isaiah 35:3 READ: Matthew 25:34-46 34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto...

HEART, NOT GARMENT

DAILY    MANNA THURSDAY 30TH  AUGUST,  2018 HEART,  NOT  GARMENT TEXT: JOEL 2:12-17 KEY VERSE: "And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil" (JOEL 2:13). Professional mourning is one dying practice of the Mediterranean and near Eastern culture. Professional mourners are paid to weep at funerals – even for people who they never met or knew. It is taken as an art or occupation. This form of "art" may be normal in some cultures or art theatres, not in the economy of God. When the Lord, through Prophet Joel, told Israel to rend their heart and not their garments, it was an allusion to the idea of professional or perfunctory mourning. Israel had a terrible moral and spiritual decline that attracted God’s judgment. Prophet Joel sounded the alarm and vividly outlined the impending dreadful calamity that dangle...

CARDINAL  PRINCIPLES  OF  LIFE

DAILY     MANNA WEDNESDAY  29TH  AUGUST,  2018 CARDINAL  PRINCIPLES  OF  LIFE TEXT: EXODUS 23:1-9 KEY VERSE: "Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment" (EXODUS 23:2). In a community where fair judgment is not administered, mistrust and anarchy will set in. The children of Israel were warned against twisting justice in favour of the rich. The rich and poor should be treated alike and there should be no preferential treatment in the handling of cases in the court. The chapter under consideration gives us a compilation of laws which are chiefly judicial, relating to the civil polity of Israel. Giving special privilege to the rich in the society is common in many parts of the world. The poor are relegated and never given any special or important role to play in the society. This practice must be off limits in the churches. God is against twisting justice ...

ARGUING WITH OMEGA?

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL   DATE:  WEDNESDAY 29TH AUGUST 2018 THEME:   ARGUING WITH OMEGA?   MEMORISE: Let not him that girdeth on his harness boast himself as he that putteth it off. 1 kings 20:11b READ:     Matthew 26:30-35 30 And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives. 31 Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad. 32 But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee. 33 Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended. 34 Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. 35 Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples. MESSAGE In today’s Bible readi...

Just As I Am

You are living a brand new kind of life . . . more and more like Christ who created this new life within you. —Colossians 3:10 (TLB) A long-haired blonde from a southern university seemed to be enjoying a satisfactory student career when her grades began to slip. “Life had become one long case of the blahs,” she confessed later. “I wasn’t walking around with a steady load of blues, but I wasn’t enjoying life. Small things made me blow up. I met some kids who seemed to know something I didn’t know, but I couldn’t get in on it. We went to several meetings, and one night the speaker said that we don’t earn God’s love. He takes us as we are. It was then I realized it wasn’t a matter of clocking up a certain number of hours doing good deeds. Instead, I had to make myself available. Through faith, I had to let Him take over. It came together all at once, when I accepted Christ as my personal Savior. I know that God is in me i...

Final Destination Revealed

Wednesday 29 th August, 2018 Words of life Daily Devotional Final Destination Revealed Memory Verse: - Luke 16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. Bible Reading: - Luke 16: 1 – 31 Message The most sure and reliable testimony about our final place of abode was revealed by Christ the son of God who came down from heaven. Jn 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. Don’t be deceived, there is life after death and it will either be in hell or in heaven depending on whom you give yourself to here on earth. The rich man and Lazarus the beggar in today’s reading revealed that there are two sets of people on earth here and there are two destinations prepared for them by God. He is a descent and orderly God who will not allow his sheep to dwell with goats in eternity. Hell is meant for the devil and his followers while heaven i...

ARE YOU STILL IN THE FAITH?

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL   DATE:  TUESDAY 28TH AUGUST 2018 THEME:   ARE YOU STILL IN THE FAITH?   MEMORISE: Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? 2 Corinthians 13:5 READ:     Psalm 139:21-24 21 Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee? 22 I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies. 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: 24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. MESSAGE It is possible for a person who once walked with god to drift out of the faith. This is the reason why 2 Corinthians 13:5 says: “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?...

You Can Depend on God's Word

Health Food Devotional You Can Depend on God's Word August 28, 2018 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.  (Isa. 40:8) Are you ready to act on the Word? What does it mean to "act on the Word"? It means to act like the Word of God is so, because it is.  Did you ever borrow money from a bank? Did you ever act on what the banker said? Well, I have.  I remember one time I wanted to buy an air conditioner for a travel trailer I had. I was holding a meeting in a certain place, and a man came up to me and said, "I'll sell you one."  I had already priced them, and I knew I would be saving almost two hundred dollars if I purchased it from this man. Besides that, he said that he would install it. I was only at the meeting a few days, and I didn't have that much money on me. And I didn't have that much money in my bank account. So I made a long distance call to Mr. Mitchell, my banker.  I said, ...

Doing Philippians 4:6

Faith Food Devotional Doing Philippians 4:6 August 28, 2018 "Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God" (Phil. 4:6 AMP).  A minister once came to me for advice. There were many storms in his life, and I felt sorry for him. He couldn't eat or sleep.  Just to sympathize with him wasn't enough, so I had to read Philippians 4:6. "But everyone doesn't have the faith you have," he told me. "Yes, but they have the same Bible," I replied, "and it's a matter of practicing the Word."  Then I showed him how to practice the Word: I read a verse aloud and then told the Lord, "Your Word is true, and I believe it." When I first started practicing this verse, I believed I could make my requests known to God, but it was hard for me to believe I could keep from fretting. Howe...

Grace and Peace

Unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. —Ephesians 4:7 The Christian life is never spoken of in the Bible as a bed of roses. It is uphill, because society is coming one way and the Christian is going the opposite way. But Jesus said that in the midst of your problems, in the midst of your difficulties, He will be there to give you grace and peace. Underneath all the troubles, will be the “still waters” that the Great Shepherd can provide. Many people are trying to steady themselves by taking tranquilizers. Jesus is the greatest tranquilizer of all. He can straighten out your life and put you back on center. Let Him take full control. You’ll go on your way rejoicing, as did those in the New Testament who met Jesus. Find peace even in the midst of your guilt . Prayer for the day I need Your calmness and strength, for there are many trials to face, Lord Jesus. By faith I reach out to You, and receive the gift...

ESCAPE  FROM  HIS  COMING  WRATH

DAILY       MANNA TUESDAY  28TH  AUGUST,  2018 ESCAPE  FROM  HIS  COMING  WRATH TEXT: ISAIAH 26:12-21 KEY VERSE: "Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast" (ISAIAH 26:20). The entire world is presently passing through a period of pain, agony and anguish, and the Church of Christ is not left out. In fact, the Church suffers much both from the hands of Satan and his cohorts that are daily inflicting all sorts of wicked devices against her with the expectation of wanting her to surrender. This could be likened to a period of pain and anguish that a pregnant woman passes through before delivery. The closer that day, the greater her pains become. But there is joy and happiness after the delivery and the period of agony will be completely forgotten. The Bible says there is no peace for the wicked. Judgment i...

God Hears and Remembers

Tuesday 28 th August, 2018 Words of Life Daily Devotional God Hears and Remembers Memory Verse: - Ex 2:24 And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. Bible Reading: - Exodus 2: 1 – 25 Message The God we serve is a living God; he is the God that created heaven and earth, the father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He hears our cries and remembers his innumerable promises to us all; he does wonderful things far above our imaginations. The children of Israel groaned and cried unto God by reason of their bondage and God of heaven heard their cry and remembered his covenant with their forefathers. He is a God of knowledge as you are and by him actions are weighed. They cried and he heard them, then he took action. Note that no action was taken until they cried unto him. He said in Jer 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. He will hear you if you call up...
