Increase Your Faith
Memory Verse: - Lk 17:5 And the
apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.
Bible Reading: - Luke 17: 1 – 37
Message
Faith is
acting on God’s words, on what God says; it is absolute trust in God without
staggering, wavering or doubting; it is the substance[assurance] of things
hoped for, the evident [proof] of things not seen; it is calling those things
that be not as though they were. For instance, the word of God says “we are
healed by the stripes of our Lord Jesus Christ” not that he is trying to heal
you, but that you are already healed. When sickness comes and you are sure that
you are not a reprobate, then you pray and rise up to do things you are not
able to do before. Even though the symptoms are still there you claim your
healing as being from not being; you confessed you have it; you hope against
hope and you will have it.
Jesus
said you desire, pray, believe and then have it. You believe before you have it
and seeing before you believe; walk by faith [things not seen] not by sight
[visible things].
How can
this assurance [faith] be obtained? Christ was teaching his disciples in the
text under review and they told him increase our faith. Faith can be increased
by hearing the word of God. To increase your faith, read your Bible, study the
word of God and let it dwell in you richly; read wonderful testimonies of
people of God compiled by sincere men of God; listen to inspire Christian
messages from sincere servants of God and pray them in.
Furthermore,
move from salvation experience to sanctification and from sanctification to
Holy Ghost Baptism and from Holy Ghost Baptism to gifts of the spirit, one of
which is gift of faith. Your faith will be increased at that level of Christian
experience. At salvation a measure of faith is given as one of the fruit of the
spirit and higher measure of it is received after Holy Ghost Baptism.
In
addition, you develop your faith by acting on God’s word. Pray on small
problems like headache, stomachache or any minor problem you may have; believe
you have receive your healing and go about your duties enduring the pain, the
next thing you will observe is the disappearance of that problem if you doubt
not.
I woke
up one Monday morning with severe pain all over my body with watery substance
dropping from my nostril. I knew this is malaria which I did not sleep with
yester night, I just pray that “devil I reject this, you cannot Lord this over
me, I am healed by the stripes of Jesus Christ”. With the pain and other
malaria symptoms I went about my daily work and before twelve o’ clock that day
everything disappeared liked vapour; behold I received my healing. This might
not appeal to our senses, but I walk by faith and not according to sciences or
senses. I called my healing to be even though I have not seen it and I received
it bye and bye.
This is
what we called prayer of faith, so when you are prayed for, claim your healing
and whatever it is you need by holding on to genuine confession like “I
have been ministered to and I believe it is working in me to effect healing and
cure” and it shall definitely be so. Please increase your faith for
without it God cannot be pleased.
Confession
of the Day
My faith
looks up to thee, thou mighty man of Calvary by whom I can do all things.
Prayer
Points
Lord, open
our understanding the more on matters of faith so that we can please our father
which is in heaven.
As I read
my Bible everyday Lord give me understanding and through this increase my faith
in thee.
