POISON TO DEVOURERS!

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL DATE: FRIDAY 1ST NOVEMBER 2019 THEME: POISON TO DEVOURERS! MEMORISE: When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. Psalm 27:2 READ: Isaiah 49:24-26 24 Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? 25 But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children. 26 And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob. MESSAGE   There was once a young brother who believed every word he read from the Bible. Based on the word of God, this brother believed that his blood was too precious to be sucked by and devourer, even mosquitoes, and knocked those who us

HOLINESS IN GOD'S PRESENCE

DAILY    MANNA  FRIDAY 1ST NOVEMBER, 2019     HOLINESS IN GOD'S PRESENCE TEXT: EXODUS 24:1-11 KEY VERSE: “Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel: And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness” (EXODUS 24:9,10).   ”For the called, the vision of God is not destructive but safety and joy. We meet the unveiling, not only of infinite holiness, but also of infinite love. The vision of divine glory was a wonder and delight and the place of vision became a place of feasting” (Rev H. T. Robjohns). It is usually believed that no mortal can see God and live. But it is different when it is God Himself that invites you into His presence. What a glorious experience this usually is!   Moses and selected elders of Israel had this very rare and unique privilege. The Lord Himself had invited them to come up to Him. But like we would do when we r

Triumph in Affliction

Triumph in Affliction Billy Graham's Daily Devotion Nov 01, 2019 You don't understand now why I am doing it; some day you will. –John 13:7 (TLB) May I remind you that physical illness is not the worst thing that can happen to you? Some of the most twisted, miserable people I have ever met had no physical handicap. Some of the world's greatest and most useful people have been handicapped. "The Messiah" was composed by Handel, who was suffering from a paralyzed right side and arm. Catherine Booth, in the last year of her life, said that she could not remember one day free from pain. Helen Keller has written, "I thank God for my handicaps, for through them I have found myself, my work, and God." Some of the most radiant Christians I have ever met were "wheelchair" saints. May God give you grace to "triumph in affliction."  Read more about God in the midst of physical illness and pain. PRAYER FOR THE DAY When physical afflictions come int

Heart Love

Faith Food – November 1 By Rhema Team, Nov 1, 2019 Heart Love . . . The love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.  — ROMANS 5:5 “I hate my mother-in-law!” a minister’s wife once said to me. “I don’t even know if I’m saved or not, because the Bible says, ‘ Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him ’” (1 John 3:15). I knew this woman was saved and filled with the Holy Spirit. But I also knew that she was letting the devil dominate her through her mind and flesh. So I said, “Look me in the eye and say out loud, ‘I hate my mother-inlaw.’ As you’re saying this, check up on the inside of you — because the love of God has been shed abroad in our  hearts , not our  heads  — and tell me what is happening.” She did what I had asked and said, surprised, “Something is ‘scratching’ me down in my spirit!” “Yes, something on the inside of you is trying to get your attention,” I told her. “The love

Teaching, Preaching, And Healing

Health Food – November 1 By Rhema Team, Nov 1, 2019 Teaching, Preaching, And Healing And  [they in the synagogue]  rose up, and thrust him  [Jesus]  out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.  — LUKE 4:29 Jesus once said something to me that astounded me. He said, “If I ministered like people thought I did, then when I came to Nazareth, instead of just getting a few healed and getting run out of town [That’s exactly what happened. In fact, they would have killed Him if they could have, and thrown Him off a cliff.], I would have gotten all the people together—including the leaders of the city of Nazareth—and said to them, ‘Get six totally blind people and line them up here. We’ll have the doctors examine them to certify the fact that they’re totally blind.’” Jesus continued, “Then I would have gotten six deaf and mute people and had the doctors examine them to certify the fact that they were totally deaf a

As You Have Believed

Friday 1 st November 2019 The Word of Life Daily Devotional As You Have Believed Memory verse: - Matthew 8:13 And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour. Bible Reading: - Matthew 8 Message Faith is highly expedient in receiving from God, without it all prayer activities will be futile and waste of time; without faith we cannot please God. In our text today, the leper and the centurion came to Jesus because they have heard of him, believed in what they heard and come with faith to receive their own miracle as well. Just like them, we go to church today because we believe in God, we go believers’ gatherings because we believe that as they gather God is there in their midst. Yes, it is true God is there in their midst and his power is more present to heal, save and deliver them that are oppressed of the devil, but faith is needed to activate the power of God on your b

Hope for the Future

Hope for the Future Billy Graham's Daily Devotion Oct 31, 2019 For our citizenship is in heaven; from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. –Philippians 3:20 (NASB) If you are moving to a new home, you want to know all about the community to which you are going. And since we will spend eternity some place, we ought to know something about it. The information concerning heaven is found in the Bible. When we talk about heaven, earth grows shabby by comparison. Our sorrows and problems here seem so much less, when we have keen anticipation of the future. In a certain sense the Christian has heaven here on earth. He has peace of soul, peace of conscience, and peace with God. In the midst of troubles and difficulties he can smile. He has a spring in his step, a joy in his soul, a smile on his face. But the Bible also promises the Christian a heaven in the life hereafter.  Find out more on what Heaven will be like. PRAYER FOR THE DAY Father, as I face whatever t

Forgiveness

Faith Food – October 31 By Rhema Team, Oct 31, 2019 Forgiveness But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.  — MARK 11:26 “Brother Hagin,” a woman once said, “cast this old, unforgiving spirit out of me. I’ve got something against a woman here at church, and I can’t forgive her. I don’t seem to have the ability to forgive.” I replied, “Do you ever have to forgive your husband?” “Oh, yes. I have to forgive him, and he has to forgive me.” “I thought you said you didn’t have the ability to forgive.” She laughed and said, “I can forgive, can’t I?” “Certainly,” I said, “if you can forgive one person, you can forgive another.” She understood and replied, “I can forgive. I do forgive. That’s it!” And it’s just that simple. Don’t complicate forgiveness. Jesus said, “When ye stand praying, forgive.” That means we can forgive. Jesus didn’t ask us to do something we can’t do. Confession:  I can forgive. I am quick to forgive. And my Father in Hea

Teaching Should Come First

Health Food – October 31 By Rhema Team, Oct 31, 2019 Teaching Should Come First And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.  — MATTHEW 9:35 When Jesus encountered unbelief, He went about teaching (see Mark 6:5 and 6). Notice that the ministry of Jesus consisted of three aspects in this order:  teaching, preaching,  and  healing . Many people want to reverse that order. They want healing first, then preaching, and no teaching. But if you want to get the results Jesus had, follow His example. Let’s continue reading. MATTHEW 9:36–38 36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion [or mercy] on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. 37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; 38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send fo

YOU MUST DIE EMPTY!

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL DATE: THURSDAY 31ST OCTOBER 2019 THEME: YOU MUST DIE EMPTY! MEMORISE: Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. Ecclesiastes 9:10 READ: 2 Timothy 4:5-8 4:5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. 4:6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. MESSAGE Someone once said that the graveyard is the richest place on earth, because in it lies buried many gifts, talents, untapped ideas and unquantifiable capabilities. The reason this assertion is somewhat true is t

TIME IS RUNNING OUT

DAILY MANNA THURSDAY 31ST OCTOBER, 2019 TIME IS RUNNING OUT TEXT: REVELATION 18:1-8 KEY VERSE: “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues” (REVELATION 18:4). Emergency services world over colour code their warnings in crisis times. The emergency warning is red, signifying the highest level of risk to life and property. All these are intended to help people keep safe in times of danger. Neglect of such warning signs can prove disastrous. With the pronouncement and announcement of judgment on Babylon, God has given the world an emergency warning. A glorious angel proclaimed with a loud voice that Babylon is fallen and has become a den of abominable things. The evil influence of this world’s system represented by Babylon is shown by the depth of corruption and compromise it exerted on all nations, kings and merchants. To demonstrate God's mercy, love and

I Will

Thursday 31 st October 2019 The Word of Life Daily Devotional I Will Memory verse: - Matthew 8:3 And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. Bible Reading: - Matthew 8 Message The leper that came to Jesus did not know that it is the will of God for him to be made whole, you must not be like this leper; be diligent to know what the will of God is for the scripture says in malice you must be like children but in understanding what the will of God is, we must be men. Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men . (1Cor 14:20) Caleb knew that it was the will of God for them to dispossess the Canaanites and took possession of their land and he stood his ground that “we are well able to overcome them and possess the land” and at eighty years of age he asked for the mountain which he conquered and took possession of it, he got to the promi

THE BLESSINGS OF CSR

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL DATE: WEDNESDAY 30TH OCTOBER 2019 THEME: THE BLESSINGS OF CSR MEMORISE: He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again. Proverbs 19:17 READ: Acts 2:41-47 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.  2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.  2:43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.  2:44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;  2:45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.  2:46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,  2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to th

REMEDY FOR CONFLICTS

DAILY     MANNA WEDNESDAY 30TH OCTOBER, 2019     REMEDY FOR CONFLICTS  TEXT: JAMES 4:1-17 KEY VERSE: “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded” (JAMES 4:8).   There are seven situations that form the root cause of conflicts. These are people having opposing agenda; people having something that the other person needs but does not have; when there are personality conflicts between individuals, when there is a significant change in the relationship equilibrium between individuals, when there is betrayal of trust between individuals, when there is thoughtless and irresponsible behavior of an individual and when the needs of certain groups or individuals are not met.   The passage today puts lust at the very center of man's conflict and wars. This lust leads to all evil works: murder, fight, war, worldliness, pride and enmity with God. Grace is available from God as remedy and the path to obtain and utilise

Strong Faith

Faith Food – October 29 By Rhema Team, Oct 29, 2019 Strong Faith He [Abraham] staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.  — ROMANS 4:20,21 “I’m weak in faith,” one woman said to me. “Will you pray that I’ll grow stronger in faith?” “No,” I said, “I won’t. To tell you the truth, you are  strong  in faith! You just don’t know it. May I ask you some questions?” “Yes, of course,” she said. “Are you fully persuaded — fully persuaded — that what God has promised He is able to perform?” “Certainly,” she said. “I know God can do anything He said He would do. And I know He will do it.” “Can you say, ‘Glory to God,’ and praise God for His promises?” “Certainly, I can. I do that every day.” “Then you are strong in faith,” I said, “according to Romans 4:20 and 21.” Abraham was also strong in faith. What is strong faith? Giving glory to God. And being fully per

Don’t Wait For Healing—Receive It By Faith Now!

Health Food – October 29 By Rhema Team, Oct 29, 2019 Don’t Wait For Healing—Receive It By Faith Now! And he  [Jesus]  went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.  — LUKE 13:22 If you need healing and there isn’t a manifestation of the Spirit, such as gifts of healings (1 Cor. 12:9), what are you going to do? Get the Word of God in you! Feed on the Word. Feed your faith, because you can receive healing by faith anytime. Continuing in Luke 4, we read,  “And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian”  (v. 27). Now all of the lepers in Israel could have been cleansed if they had believed in their covenant of healing (Exod. 34:10). Yet under the ministry of Elisha, not one single leper was healed in Israel except Naaman. Naaman wasn’t even an Israelite, and he didn’t have a covenant of healing with Jehovah Rapha. But because Elisha was well known for getting people healed, Naama

I will follow the Mighty One

Wednesday 30 th October 2019 The Word of Life Daily Devotional I will follow the Mighty One Memory verse: - Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. Bible Reading: - Numbers 33: 1 – 56 Message The chapter of the book of numbers under review this morning shows the record of goings of Israelites out of Egypt to the promise land. This is written for our learning; but the most striking thing about the passage was that Israelites went out with a high hand in the sight of Egyptians when they were burying their firstborn in every house coupled with intense judgment of God upon their gods. Their gods were unable to save them, neither could they withstand the power of God of Israel who is the true God of heaven and earth and the fathe

THE FLOURISHING

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL DATE: TUESDAY 29TH OCTOBER 2019 THEME: THE FLOURISHING MEMORISE: Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. Psalm 67:5-6 READ: Psalm 92:12-15 92:12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.  92:13 Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.  92:14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;  92:15 To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him. MESSAGE Those whom the Lord refers to as the "flourishing" are those who have the capacity to lend to nations. They are the kind of people that nations can humbly go to in order to explain their needs, anticipating that they will receive something impactful from them. The first thing you need in order to flourish is divine favour. In

THE UNCLEAN GIRDLE

DAILY     MANNA TUESDAY 29TH OCTOBER, 2019       THE UNCLEAN GIRDLE  TEXT: JEREMIAH 13:1-14 KEY VERSE: “This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing” (JEREMIAH 13:10).   John the Baptist went about in raiment of camel's hair and a leather girdle about his loins eating locusts and wild honey to rebuke the unbridled affluence of the professors of religion in his day. Isaiah walked naked and barefooted for three years (Isaiah 20:3,4), as a message to Israel of the shame in depending on Egypt and Ethiopia. When man closes his ears to hearing God's warning, He often demonstrates same with signs man cannot notice.   The Lord was speaking to Israel and Judah that had been dull of hearing through the parable of the linen girdle. Prophet Jeremiah was to put the linen girdle on his loins without washing it. After many day

Battle of the Spirit

Battle of the Spirit Billy Graham's Daily Devotion Oct 29, 2019 Let the peace of God rule in your hearts . . . –Colossians 3:15 When we examine the problems that confront us in our world today, we find that every one of them resolves into a problem of "inner space," a problem of the dark side of the human spirit. From thousands of letters we receive, it is evident that a large proportion of the population is facing deep personal problems. They vary from person to person, but they do exist, and they are all problems of "inner space." Yes, we are the people who have been conquering outer space, but are in danger of losing the battle of the spirit. But there is a solution—for millions it has already been reached—and that solution is in Jesus Christ. He said, "My peace"—my liberty, my freedom—"I give unto you" (John 14:27). Today if we will turn the searchlight of truth on the dark side of our human spirits and let Jesus Christ become the Master

I am that I am

Tuesday 29th October 2019 Words of Life Daily Devotional I am That I am Memory Verse: -  Ex 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. Bible Reading: - Ex 3: 1 – 22 Message God that answers prayers and to whom all flesh must come in a bid to finding solutions to their problems and destructions revealed himself to Moses in a flame of fire in our text this morning as I AM THAT I AM. God is whom he is yesterday, today and forever. He heard the cries of Israelites from holy heaven and come down to deliver them from their afflictions and servitude. I am that I am is still whom He is today – he hears and answers prayers; he saves and delivers from afflictions; he is alive yesterday and today; he is as powerful today as he was yesterday; he was mighty yesterday in the days of old and is more powerful today than yesterday. His power was only given to prophets in the Old Testament, but the believers t

Genuine Love

Genuine Love Billy Graham's Daily Devotion Oct 28, 2019 . . . being knit together in love . . . –Colossians 2:2 Thousands of young couples go through with a loveless marriage because no one ever told them what genuine love is. I believe we need to read the 13th chapter of First Corinthians, in which the Apostle Paul gives us a definition of love. He says, "Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends." If people today knew that kind of love, the divorce rate would be sharply reduced.  Learn more about God's divine love.   Read Billy Graham's 10 answers on love.  PRAYER FOR THE DAY Lord Jesus, we need Your love and forgiveness in our hearts, if we are to love unselfishly.

The Working Of Miracles

Health Food – October 28 By Rhema Team, Oct 28, 2019 The Working Of Miracles To another the working of miracles . . .  — 1 CORINTHIANS 12:10 After John baptized Jesus in the Jordan River, the Holy Ghost descended upon Him in bodily form (Luke 3:22). Full of the Holy Ghost, He was led by the Spirit of God into the wilderness. After the temptation in the wilderness, Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee. He came to Nazareth, His hometown, went to the synagogue on the sabbath, and stood up to read. Let’s pick up the scriptural account there. LUKE 4:17–18, 20–26 17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, 18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me. . . . 20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. 21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this s

Imitators Of God

Faith Food – October 28 By Rhema Team, Oct 28, 2019 Imitators Of God Therefore be imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father].  — EPHESIANS 5:1 ( Amplified ) “I’m not going to believe I’ve got something I don’t see!” one preacher said to me. “Do you believe you have a brain?” I replied. “Certainly,” he said. “Have you ever seen it?” Abraham believed something he couldn’t see. Thomas refused to believe something he couldn’t see. Thomas’ name isn’t listed in the gallery of the heros of faith in Hebrews chapter 11. But Abraham’s name is. Another person once said to me, “Well, it would be all right for God to call those things which be not as though they were, because He’s God. But it would be wrong for me to do that.” If it’s wrong for  you  to do it, it’s wrong for  God  to do it! Children of the devil act like the devil. Children of God are to act like God. God is a faith God. And we are faith children of a faith God. Because we ar

Matthew 6:33 READ: Genesis 21:5-14 21:5 And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him. 21:6 And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me. 21:7 And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born him a son in his old age. 21:8 And the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned. 21:9 And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking. 21:10 Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac. 21:11 And the thing was very grievous in Abraham's sight because of his son. 21:12 And God

UNRIVALED FAITH

DAILY MANNA MONDAY 28TH OCTOBER, 2019 UNRIVALED FAITH TEXT: HEBREWS 11:17-22 KEY VERSE: “Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure” (HEBREWS 11:19). The amazing story of Charles Blondin, a famous French tightrope walker, is a wonderful illustration of what true faith is. Blondin's greatest fame came on September 14, 1860, when he became the first person to cross a tightrope stretched 11,000 feet (over a quarter of a mile) across the mighty Niagara Falls. People from both Canada and America came from miles away to see this great feat. He walked across, 160 feet above the falls, several times, each time with a different daring feat - once in a sack, on stilts, on a bicycle, in the dark and blindfolded. Then at one point, he asked for the participation of a volunteer. Blondin suddenly stopped and addressed his audience: “Do you believe I can carry a person across in this wheelbarrow?” The crowd enth

Sincere Demand

Monday 28 th October 2019 The Word of Life Daily Devotional Sincere Demand Memory verse: - Numbers 32:5 Wherefore, said they, if we have found grace in thy sight, let this land be given unto thy servants for a possession, and bring us not over Jordan. Bible Reading: - Numbers 32: 1 – 42 Message God whom we have to do is holy, perfect, faithful and indescribable, man cannot by searching understand him. Isaiah 40:28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He wants sincere people to serve him; those that speak the truth from their inward part; he hastes deceitful men who will not live up to half their lifetime purposed for them by God for their deception will cut short their lives. So, beware and know that God knows what is in you; if you are sincere, he knows and if otherwise, he knows. He knows man distinctly and doe
