Give Attendance to Reading
Memory verse: - 1Ti 4:13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
Bible Reading: - 1Tim 4: 1 – 16
Message
We are commanded in the scriptures to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ and for this to happen we must desire the sincere milk of the word that can make us grow thereby. Paul was used of God tremendously because he gave himself to reading of the word, prayer and ministry. Daniel discover in the book of Jeremy that seventy years was prophesied for the captivity of his people in bondage at his time which had been fulfilled already and began to pray about it, then God moved and they were released from captivity; they would have remained in that captivity if nobody had prayed about it; and how would he had prayed if he had not read in the book of Jeremiah the prophet. And in Isaiah 5:13 God said “therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst. 
Reading the scriptures will make you know the truth and deeper things about God, Jesus and Holy Ghost; no wonder the apostles of Christ said we will give ourselves to the ministry of the word and prayers.
Ezra in the Old Testament was used greatly by God because he set his heart to search the scriptures, to know the truth, to do it and to teach others.
Ezr 7:10 For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the Lord, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments.
God told Joshua in Joshua 1:8 that:
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
The commandment to give ourselves to reading profitable Christian magazines, tracts, and books in conjunction with the Bible is much more relevant today and in all generations for this art will make you knowledgeable in things of God and will not enable the enemy to put you into captivity. Give attendance to reading and meditations everyday if you want to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus.
2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Jn 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
Confession of the Day
I will give myself to reading the scriptures, Christian literatures, Christian magazines and tracts so as to know the truth; do it and teach others.
Prayer Points

Heavenly Father, deliver me from the spirit of this age that hinders one from reading profitable books.

May 3 SUPPLYING OUR NEEDS But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. — PHILIPPIANS 4:19 It is God’s will that our needs be met. All of them! Philippians 4:19 includes all of your needs (all means all!), whether spiritual, physical, material, or financial. Believe that! Lest someone think that God is not concerned about our financial needs, this verse is set in a context which discusses material and financial affairs. Read it and you will see that the Philippians had taken up an offering of money and goods to send to other Christians. Paul was telling them, “Because you have given to others and have helped them, my God shall supply all your need.” So Paul was talking about material and financial matters.
