Message
As
a bible student, you know and believe that there are three personalities in the
God head working harmoniously together as one. We have God the father
[Jehovah], God the son [our Lord Jesus Christ], and the third person is Holy
Spirit [ our guide and teacher] by which we are sealed until the last day.
Some
count it as disregard to God and even blasphemy equating Christ with God; but
Jesus Christ the beloved son of God proclaimed in today’s text that we must
give him the honour as we honour God the father. Anyone who refuses to honour
Jesus like he honour God is under the judgement of God.
Some
do not give honour due unto our Lord to him calling him an ordinary messenger
of God; servant of God; but Jesus is more than the prophets; he is more than
the messengers of God and had been with the father even before the world begins;
he was there during the time of creation and through him were all things made. He
said in the book of revelation 1:8 that I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is
to come, the Almighty.
It is not out of place to honour Jesus
just as we honour God the father because HE[CHRIST] said I and my father are
one. Pharisees, Sadducees and Scribes all hated Christ and determined to kill
him because they thought it was abomination for Christ to make himself equal
with God despite seeing the marvelous miracles far beyond human capability
performed by Christ in their midst right before them.
As
for you today how did you see Christ? Who is he to you? An ordinary messenger or
a mere prophet or God the son or a beloved son of God?
If
you honour Christ and allow him to dwell in you as the reigning king, God will
honour you and both of them will make their place of abode with you.
Let Christ be honoured in the way you live your life
in your community; let them see your good works and glorify your heavenly
father through Chris our Lord. honour him; kiss the son; adore him and let him
reign in you; let others see him through you.
Confession of the Day
Jesus is my Lord and saviour who was, is and will be;
he the almighty, Alpha and Omega; my coming King; my sanctifier; my redeemer
and the chief shepherd of my soul.
Prayer Point
Lord I honourably bow my knees to you; take me by hand
and lead me in the path of righteousness; let your praise be in my mouth
forever.
