Legitimate or Illegitimate
Memory verse: - Romans 9:7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.
Bible Reading: Romans 9:1 – 32
Message
Abraham the father of faith and a friend of God had two popular sons known as Ishmael and Isaac; one is legitimate child (born by Sarah his wife) and the other by his mistress or handmaid; Isaac was the promise child of God while Ishmael was an illegitimate child of Abraham born out wedlock. Both of them are children of Abraham, but Isaac is the child of promise and that of God from which the true children of God shall be called.
In like manner, every human being in the world today are creatures of God; but not all are children of God.
True children of God are the “BORN AGAINS”; the regenerated and translated children of God reigning in heavenly places with Christ far above principalities and powers; they are washed by the blood of the lamb; they have yielded all unto God and have accepted Jesus as their personal Lord and saviour; and they follow the Lord every day; they are continually abiding in Christ Jesus every day. Believers like this shall be called legitimate children of God in Christ Jesus; true believers shall be called in Christ and not without Christ just as true Israelites shall be called in Isaac and not in Ishmael who is in bondage at Arabia with his children.
For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.[Gal 4:25]
You can raise your hand as one of God’s children if we are asked to do so; but the question is “ARE YOU A LEGITIMATE CHILD OF GOD OR AN ILLEGITIMATE CHILD OF GOD?”
In Christ Jesus alone shall true children of God be called because he is the only mediator between us and God; he is the only being that linked us with God; he is our pascal lamb; he is our sacrificial lamb; he is the vine unto which true believers (branches) are attached; he is the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE; without which we cannot see God.
To be one of spiritual Israel of God in this dispensation of grace; you must believe that Christ came to die for you, confess him as your personal Lord and saviour with your mouth and in deed follow him day by day. They are illegitimate children of God that rejected Christ as their Lord and saviour.
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:[John1:12]
I urge you confess your sins, forsake them and accept Jesus [the power of God unto salvation] as your personal Lord and saviour and become a true Israel of God in Christ Jesus. And if you have accepted HIM [JESUS] as your saviour; cleave unto him to the very end and you shall eventually reign with him forever.
CONFESSION OF THE DAY
I am a legitimate child of God in Christ Jesus; I shall be kept by him unto his heavenly kingdom.
PRAYER POINTS

Save me now Oh God; I surrender to Christ as my only saviour; make me a legitimate child of God in Christ Jesus; and keep me unto your heavenly kingdom.
