Bible Reading: - Leviticus 24: 1 – 23
Message
The chapter under review reveals how God spake unto Moses to command children of Israel to bring pure olive oil beaten for the light – to cause the light to burn continually before the Lord.
The first lesson here is to give our best to the Lord as the olive oil demanded for was not to be processed through heat and pressure as those obtained through such process are the inferior type. Give the best of lifetime and talent to God and offer not unto God what will cause you nothing like David – a man after God’s own heart. 2Sa 24:24 And the king said unto Araunah, Nay; but I will surely buy it of thee at a price: neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the Lord my God of that which doth cost me nothing. So David bought the threshingfloor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.
The second lesson from the chapter is that the people are to bring the olive oil to Aaron who will use it to cause the light to burn continually before the Lord. Aaron is high priest like our ministers and Pastors in our places of worship today. They need spiritual oil of anointing and grace of God to do the work of God effectually; and we the people of God need to pray for them always so that the power of God will be mighty upon them to do the work boldly and effectively. Your leader in the church as well as the workers in the vineyard need your prayers like Paul said in Romans 15:30 that “Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;” Remember how the battle between Amalekites and Israelites was won in the wilderness; it was because Aaron and Hur stayed the hand of Moses from morning till evening. Your leaders are not super – humans, they are men of like passion as you are; they need your prayers. And you have no right to complain if you are lacking in intercessory prayers for them.
The third lesson here is that the lamp must burn and give light continually before the Lord. Jesus in the new Testament refers to believers as the light of the world in Matthew 5: 14 – 15 that:  Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Jesus gave himself for us so that he can redeem us from all our iniquity and purified unto himself a peculiar people zealous of good work. Christ himself on earth went about doing good and delivering those that were oppressed of the devil for God was with him. Emmanuel – God is with us today and we must also as the redeemed of the Lord be full of good works and that in all zealousness to the Lord which will enable unbelievers around to see it and glorify our heavenly father. You and I and all of us shall shine for the Lord continually till we see him in glory in Jesus name.
Confession of the Day  I will give my best to the master and will intercede for those that are laboring for the expansion of His kingdom in Jesus name.
Prayer Points
Our heavenly father, give me grace to give my best to you in all areas my service is needed in the vineyard of God. I also ask for more grace and ability to live radiantly for you at home and abroad so that your name can be glorified as I so shine for you in all areas.
