He Gave Himself
Memory verse: - Tit 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Bible Reading: - Titus 2: 1 – 15
Message
The link between man and God was cut off by the sin of rebellion of Adam and Eve and even by man’s own sin today for the scripture says “Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear [Isa 59:1 – 2]
In other to link us back to himself from our slavery and bondage of Satan, God gave us Jesus as the sacrificial lamb to die and destroy the works of the devil for us through the cross. Jesus Christ in obedience to God the father also willingly gave himself to die on the cross for our redemption. He has all the power to prevent himself from been taken as a sheep dumb before his shearers, yet he come forward to his captors and even performed miracle of healing instantaneously the ear of Malchus – the servant of the high priest whose ear was cut off by Peter the apostle. His appearance and the power he possessed made his captors to fall backward to the ground; yet he did not run away; he yielded himself knowing that it is the will of father in heaven for him to die for the sins of the whole world.
Like Moses of old [ but more than Moses] he chose to suffer affliction and cruel mocking to the end even to the point of death than to wield his power in a negative way; he called it the cup the father had given him to drink. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
It is the will of God for all heaven bound believers to continually be under the Lordship of Jesus Christ and daily follow him wherever he leads because he is the way to the father; he is the link between us and the father; he is the only mediator between man and God.
Therefore, you must give up your will, self and all to him and follow whichever way he leads so that you can be saved eventually.
Reciprocate this kind gesture of our God and our Lord Jesus Christ by abandoning yourself in him dying to sin daily and doing all that is expected of you as a believer who must be zealous unto good work.
Balance the equation; give yourself in return as the follower of Christ to do his work of soul winning as well as been useful in the work of his vineyard as a teacher of the word, an ursher,a choir, counselor and even a pastor. The harvest truly is plenteous by the labourers are very few; decide to be among the grateful few who in return gave themselves back to the Lord for his sacrificial and deeper love he has for the church of God.
Confession of the Day - Because of his deeper and unspeakable love for me, I gladly yield my life to him; I will hear him [JESUS]; I will as long as I remain here do his will in season and out of season.
Prayer Points
Lord I yield my life afresh to you; take it and use it to the glory of your name; help me to remain focus and be steadfast in faith till the end.
