Strange Fire

and devoured them, and they died before the Lord.
Bible Reading: - Lev 10: 1 – 20
Message
We are
serving a sacred God who is a consuming fire; and of the purer eyes that cannot
behold iniquity of any form of presumptuous sins. We have a lot lessons to
learn from the presumptuous sins of Nadab and Abihu:
We must
not do that which the Lord has not commanded us to do
God is
sacred and must reverently be worshipped. Ecc 5:1 Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God,
and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they
consider not that they do evil.
God is a
consuming fire with fire that kills the presumptuous ones without burning their
coats
A soul
that sins shall die and be alienated from God now and in eternity if not
repented from.
In
troublous times, we must hold our peace and not to speak rashly against God
like Aaron held his peace.
As
ministers of God we must abstain from strong drinks for it seems that both of
them brought the strange fire presumptuously under the influence of alcohol
since that period was the time of the merriment for their ordination as God’s
priests.
That the
spiritually dead ones should be removed from before the altar of God who has
nothing to offer than to tell stories of old women fables and genealogies that
minister questions rather than edification of the body of Christ.
1Ti 1:4 Neither give
heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than
godly edifying which is in faith: so do.
Remember
Ananias and Sapphira his wife that brought strange fire of deception and lying
unto the Holy Spirit and we struck dead instantaneously; also leprosy came upon
king Uzziah when he went into the sanctuary to burn incense which was not his
duty to carry out and King Saul was also rejected from being King for the same
offence.
By
implication we should know our place when it comes to offering our services to
the Lord and do all things in accordance to the order of the man God had place
over us in his service and that must be done as unto the Lord in all humility
and sobriety.
Confession
of the Day
I will
serve the Lord in the beauty of his holiness reverently without any presumption
and pretention, but with utmost sincerity and faithfulness.
Prayer
Points
Deliver
me Oh Lord from presumptuous, predetermined, premeditated and besetting sins;
let them not have dominion over me. But help me to serve you reverently and
obediently.
