Memory Verse: - Ex 11:3 And the Lord gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh’s servants, and in the sight of the people.
Bible Reading: - Ex 11: 1 – 10
Message
God, the father of our Lord Jesus Christ is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him; he turns the heart of the kings whithersoever he will; he has all the power to reward those whose services had been enjoyed by wicked men without commensurate reward or payment given to them.
In our text today, he was about to unleash the last or tenth plague on Egyptians that will break and crush the pride of Pharaoh and his servants; and he does not want his people to go out empty handed, therefore he commanded them through Moses to spoil Egyptians by borrowing of his neighbours jewels of silver and jewels of gold.
Israelites had laboured grievously without anything to show for it; they have worked like elephants and ate like rats; Egyptians had before this time wasted them; their cries moved the Almighty God to rise in their defense; hence he granted them favour before the Egyptians to borrow jewels of silver and gold from them; and this they willingly gave them because the heart of all men is in God’s hand and he can turns it in whatever direction he wills.
By implication, you might find yourself in their shoes whereby you have and you are still working under some people and they refuse to give you that which you are entitled to; they give you what is not in consonant to your labour and even threatened to lay you off if you talk; never mind, take it to God in prayers and he knows how to reward you elsewhere; he will surely give you a double portion for your shame.
He that favoured them then is still on the throne and still work hitherto; he knows you, sees your labour and hears your cries; he will rise up for your help, he will grant you favour of men and will make your helper to locate you. He will send him or her to you like he did for Israelites by sending Moses and Aaron to them.
But he came down to deliver them because he remembered his covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He is a faithful God and he will not withhold good things from them that walk uprightly. Are you in covenant relationship with the Lord? Have you accepted Christ – the gift of God that unlocks the door of salvation, deliverance and all forms of blessings? For without you being in Christ, you cannot please God who sent his only begotten son to shed his sinless and precious blood for your redemption. If you take iniquity far away from your tabernacle, you will then call on him in the name of the Lord and he will answer you; he will favour you and your labour shall greatly be rewarded.
Confession of the Day
I will follow you to the end Christ my redeemer and the giver of all blessings
Prayer Points
Lord, grant me favour before men and reward my sincere labour which men have enjoyed without commensurate recompense of reward.
Turn the heart of our leaders in this nation to value the masses and use the great resources you have bestowed upon us to better their lives in Jesus name.
Break the pride of arrogant and wicked rulers like you did for Pharaoh and turn their evil counsels to be at naught in the mighty name of Jesus.[Amen]
