Hear and Be Healed
Memory Verse: - Lk 6:17 And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;
Bible Reading: - Luke 6:1 – 49
Message
The word of God is life to those that find them and health to all their flesh [Prov 4:22]; he sent his word, and healed us, and delivered us from all our destructions [Psalm 107:20]; Jesus said the word I speak unto you are spirit and life. The word of God had the power to save from sins, heal and deliver us from all our destructions.
For all that we need from God, there must be faith – for without faith we cannot please him; in fact that which is not done in faith is sin. Our faith grows and become stronger as a result of hearing the word.
Ro 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Jesus got to Nazareth his own hometown and could not do much because the people lack faith, hence he went about their cities and villages teaching the word because he knew that faith comes through the word.
It is obvious in today’s reading that Jesus doesn’t just perform the miracle without the word most of the time. The people came to hear and then to be healed of their diseases. So if you need the touch of God, develop your faith first by reading and studying your Bible; and listening to inspired and anointed Christian messages from approved men of God that preach the word in all sincerity.
Ac 14:8 And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked: 9 The same heard Paul speak: who steadfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, 10 Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.
The faith of the impotent man grew as he heard Paul preach the word and when commanded to act on the word, he received it by faith and instantaneously received his healing. The Lord has not changed and the other remains the same: hear and be healed, not healed before you hear; therefore hear the word patiently; have your faith developed, act on the word and be healed from all your sicknesses and destructions.
Confession of the Day
I will diligently hear and read the word for my healing and deliverance.
Prayer Points
Father, deliver me from slumbering spirit that hinders men from hearing the word in Jesus name.
Give me grace to study the word so as to be approved by you as a workman that needs not be ashamed rightly dividing the word.
As I read and hear the word, let it mix together with faith in me and make me a strong believer you want me to be.
