Message
After
one had obtained the three basic Christian experiences (salvation,
sanctification and Holy Ghost Baptism), then the next step is to ask for the
gifts of the Holy Spirit one of which is the gift of words of knowledge.
In our
Bible passage of today, Christ manifested this gifts about the first three
people mentioned in the chapter. First of all was the woman with expensive
alabaster box of spikenard ointment which she broke and poured upon Jesus. The
woman would have been inspired or led by God to offer this to Jesus. Even
though the woman did not tell Jesus why she did it; Jesus by the gift of words
of knowledge knew why and his explanation silenced the woman’s adversaries.
The
lesson here is that you give your best to the master like this woman that did
what she could for the Lord. Give the best of your time, talent, intellect,
money, might and strength to the master and you will in no wise loose the
reward.
Secondly,
he described the man in which house he would eat the last Passover with his
disciples through the gift of knowledge, they went and met it exactly that way.
Jesus said the good man of the house will show you the guest chamber he had
made ready for the last supper with his disciples.
This man
would have been inspired by God to make that guest house ready for the last
supper of Christ and he yielded like Obededum and Noah of old. Remember that as many that are led by the
spirit of God are the true children of God.
Jesus
knew the man, where he can be located at that moment and with the description
of what he would be doing and his disciples met it that way without stress. He
[JESUS] knows you, where you are; what you are doing and why you are doing it.
Thirdly,
he knew that Judas Iscariot would betray him yet he did not send him packing,
rather he fed him. May God help us to be like our master. He warned, prayed and tolerated Judas
Iscariot to the very end. No bitterness, hatred, animosity, malice and
harshness against Judas Iscariot, he did not call fire to come and destroy him;
he loved him to the point of death.
He
possessed this gift because he was anointed to minister. He handed the baton over to us by saying the
works I do you will do also and greater works than this shall ye do because I go to
my father [John 14:12]
In view
of this, let us earnestly press forward to the mark of high calling in Jesus so
that we can possess these gifts that are meant for the growth and edification
of the body of Christ. God will take me, you and the desired ones there in
Jesus name.
Confession
I have
not yet attained to the mark of high calling in Jesus; hence I seek further
everyday so as to know him and the power of his resurrection.
Prayer
Points
Oh to be
like thee blessed redeemer, come in thy sweetness, come in thy fullness, and
stamp thine own image deep in my heart. Make me what you want me to be in Jesus
name.
