DO NOT ALLOW IT
MEMORY VERSE: - Jn 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
BIBLE READING: - Num 14: 1 – 45
MESSAGE
Jesus admonished his disciples not to allow their hearts to be troubled, because he will not be with them physically for he is about to go back to the father. Worry and anxiety is a weapon in the hand of the devil to trouble believers and unbelievers as well. Why worry about the problem you cannot solve on your own; Jesus had before now taught them not to take thought of what to eat, drink or wear for they cannot by so doing add a minute to their life.
Evil tidings and discouraging news we hear from media everyday coupled with fear of unknown can trouble the heart of man. Children of Israel wept and murmured against Aaron, Moses and God because the evil report of the spies troubled them; God was sore displeased with them and would have destroyed them were it not for the intercession of Aaron and Moses.
The right attitude to discouraging and troublous situations was hereby manifested by MOSES and AARON in that they went to God in prayers concerning the situation on ground; they did not murmur or charge God foolishly, they focus on the mightiness and awesome power of God that they have enjoyed and believed that they will still enjoy.
The just shall live by faith, not by fret or worry; not by murmur or complains. This is the charge given to us by Jesus in today’s memory verse: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
In Daniel chapter eleven verse thirty – two God said that “and such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits” evil tidings and flatteries corrupt the mind and it’s a weapon in the hand of the devil to make us rebel against God.
Having known this, do not allow worry and anxiety; let not your heart be troubled, have faith in God who is able to solve all problems – he is a master over all situations. He had delivered; he does deliver and will yet deliver you. Faith and fear cannot dwell together; where there is fear there will be worry and anxiety and on the other hand, where there is faith there will be peace of mind and joy in the Holy Ghost.
Therefore when heaviness of heart and weight of family burden weighs you down, rather than worry take that care to the Lord in prayer and the peace of God that passes human understanding shall keep your mind and hearts through Christ Jesus. You are to avoid your heart being troubled also by making sure you receive the promised power that comforts believers in troublous times.
Confession of the Day
I will not allow worry and anxiety to have the rule over me; rather I will cast my burden upon the Lord.
Prayer Points
Lord, help me to read the scriptures diligently and open my understanding while I do so.
Increase my faith and give me the gift of faith to trample worry and anxiety under my feet.
Help me not to forget your mighty deeds I have read about, experienced and heard to avoid my faith being weakened.

May 3 SUPPLYING OUR NEEDS But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. — PHILIPPIANS 4:19 It is God’s will that our needs be met. All of them! Philippians 4:19 includes all of your needs (all means all!), whether spiritual, physical, material, or financial. Believe that! Lest someone think that God is not concerned about our financial needs, this verse is set in a context which discusses material and financial affairs. Read it and you will see that the Philippians had taken up an offering of money and goods to send to other Christians. Paul was telling them, “Because you have given to others and have helped them, my God shall supply all your need.” So Paul was talking about material and financial matters.
