THE RULER OVER ME
MEMORY VERSE: - Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
BIBLE READING: - Col 1: 1 – 29
MESSAGE
Jesus is the light of the world (Jn 8:12) and he referred to believers also that they are the light of the world (Mt 5:14). Anybody in Christ is in the light but every other person without Christ is in darkness and rulers of darkness of this world have control over them.
1Jn 5:19 and we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness. The word wickedness here was translated in amplified Bible to mean “under the power of the evil one”. You cannot be neutral, if you are not in the light, you will be in darkness and vice versa. If you are not of Christ you are under the control of the devil, the evil one.
The highest levels of evil spirit under heaven that are very brilliant and intelligent are the rulers of darkness of this world. Less in power to them are powers, followed by principalities. They dominate and control people in darkness. At times people do some things that they do not even know why they did it, it is because they are under the control of rulers of darkness of this world.
But believers are translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God at salvation through Christ. Christ is their Lord; he dominates and makes use of them. Rulers of darkness should not have control over them. But you still hear some believers doing funny and unbelievable things; it is because they are disobedient, careless and ignorant of the one ruling over them.
Although Judas Iscariot was following the Lord everywhere, but devil entered into him, dominated him and maneuvered him to betray Jesus, because money was his idol which is the root of all evil.
Some years ago, a girl I knew started doing some things that were very strange, no matter how careful you may be in keeping your money, she will locate the place and cart away the money. Every time she was interrogated how she got to know that money was there; she will say a spirit directed her to that place. This is rulers of darkness in action. To some it might be womanizing, smoking, reveling, wantonness, inordinate affection, stealing etc.
Let Jesus be your Lord – the ruler over you and your end shall be peace eternally.
Confession of the day
Jesus is my Lord and not rulers of darkness of this world.
Prayer Point
Lord, I surrender myself completely unto you without any reservation; take all, no room for Satan at all.

May 3 SUPPLYING OUR NEEDS But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. — PHILIPPIANS 4:19 It is God’s will that our needs be met. All of them! Philippians 4:19 includes all of your needs (all means all!), whether spiritual, physical, material, or financial. Believe that! Lest someone think that God is not concerned about our financial needs, this verse is set in a context which discusses material and financial affairs. Read it and you will see that the Philippians had taken up an offering of money and goods to send to other Christians. Paul was telling them, “Because you have given to others and have helped them, my God shall supply all your need.” So Paul was talking about material and financial matters.
