HATRED OF COMPARISON

Image
FEBRUARY 1, 2018 Words of Life Daily Devotional HATRED OF COMPARISON MEMORY VERSE: - Mal 1:3 And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness. BIBLE READING: - Mal 1: 1- 5 MESSAGE We have been commanded in the bible that we should not hate anyone without a cause; for he that hateth his brother without a cause is a murderer [1Jn3: 15]. Hence we should not hate anyone at all whatever happens; love and hate not, abstain from all appearance of evil. God said he hates Esau because he was a profane person [someone who desecrates holy things; who counts as an unholy thing his birthright ordained by God]. God is saying he has more love for Jacob and less love for Esau. Jacob listened to his parents; sought after God and even laid altar for God at Bethel, but Esau went into unequal yoke in marriage with revengeful spirit against Jacob his brother. He had hatred of bitterness for years. You should passionately hate sin and evi

A SHINING LIGHT

Dlcm daily manna THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 2018 TEXT: PROVERBS 12:17-28 KEY VERSE: "Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad" (Proverbs 12:25). MESSAGE The writer in this passage addresses the character of some individuals – how their attitude to life promotes or diminishes their worth. He talks about a diligent person who will always find food and the man who runs after fantasies and lacks good judgment. Whereas righteous men work for their food, the wicked would rather steal from others than work for honest wages. The writer also points out that a man must reap whatever he sows. Nowadays, many people are depressed on account of the challenges of life. A large number of people go into harmful practices while seeking solution to life’s challenges. Sadly, many seek solution the wrong way and from wrong sources. By so doing, they complicate their cases. The only sure refuge in time of trouble remains the Lord and Saviour, J

Working Together for Good

Image
We know that all things work together for good to them that love God . . .  —Romans 8:28 We might never have had the songs of Fanny Crosby had she not been afflicted with blindness. George Matheson would never have given the world his immortal song, “O Love That Will Not Let Me Go,” had it not been for his passing through the furnace of affliction. The “Hallelujah Chorus” was written by George Frederick Handel when he was poverty-stricken and suffering from a paralyzed right side and right arm. Affliction may be for our edification and Christian development. Sickness is one of the “all things” which work together for good to them that love God. Don’t resent it. Don’t be embittered by it. Prayer for the day You do not make mistakes, Father. If sorrow comes into my life, let me use it to help others know about You.

DON’T WASTE GOD’S GRACE

Image
Open Heavens 1 February 2018 (Thursday) Memorise:   We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.  2nd Corinthians 6:1 Read:  Genesis 6:1-8 (KJV)  Open Heavens 1 February 2018 (Thursday) 1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, 2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. 3 And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. 4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. 5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

They Shall Recover

Image
Health Food Devotional They Shall Recover January 31, 2018 And these signs shall follow them that believe;...they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. (Mark 16:17-18) In 1953, I was ministering at the Oakcliff Assembly of God Church in Dallas, when a young woman was brought to the service in an ambulance. She had been bedfast two years due to an automobile accident that broke her neck and her back. After being in the hospital for two years and at home for almost a year, she regained the use of her arms. But from her shoulders down, she was unable to move.  When I knelt by her stretcher and laid hands on her, I had the impression that it would not be an instant healing. When I laid my hands on her feet, I felt a "warmth" go into her. She didn't have any feeling in her feet. But her legs began to tingle and she said, "I feel that warmth coming out of your hands and up my legs."  I said to her, "That's the healing power of God go

Rest

Image
Faith Food Devotional Rest January 31, 2018 "For we which have believed do enter into rest" (Heb. 4:3). Through the years, I've had the greatest time putting the Lord to work for me - just letting Him do the work. Since I learned about faith and that the Bible said, "we which have believed do enter into rest." I have been in a state of rest. Grasp what this scripture says! It doesn't say that we have entered into a state of fearing, fretting, griping, worrying, or fighting. No! It says we have entered into rest. I haven't seen a "battle" in more than 65 years. When someone asks me, "How goes the battle?" I always answer, "The victory is wonderful!" There isn't any battle. I'm in the victory. Faith always has a good report! Confession:  I have believed. I am a believing one. Therefore, I have entered into rest. I am in a state of rest. I act like I am in a state of rest. I do not fear or fret. I do not worry.

GOODNESS AND SEVERITY OF GOD

WEDNESDAY JANUARY 31, 2018 Words of Life Daily Devotional GOODNESS AND SEVERITY OF GOD MEMORY VERSE: - Ro 11:22 behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. BIBLE READING: -Rom 11:1 – 36 It is very obvious from the above memory verse that the security of believers in Christ is conditional. It is conditioned on the fact that he continues in obedient faith to the end. Because of unbelief national Israel was going to reap the severe judgment of God, on the other hand the gentiles reaped the goodness of God through obedient of faith. As long as you abide in Christ you have sure protection and answers to your prayers here in the world. John9:31 says “ Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, h

He Can Use Anyone

Image
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. —Philippians 1:21 Helen Keller, who is a classic example of handling life’s handicaps, said, “I thank God for my handicaps, for through them I have found myself, my work, and my God.” Some people with handicaps drown themselves in self-pity, and thus limit their usefulness and service to mankind and to God. The Apostle Paul knew the pangs of suffering. He used his infirmity rather than allowing his infirmity to use him, and he used it for the glory of God. He seized everything, even death, to glorify his Lord. No matter which way fate turned, he was one jump ahead of it, and using it to magnify his Savior. Prayer for the day Even my handicaps can be used by You, Lord Jesus. Like the Apostle Paul, let me rise above them for Your glory.

ONE WITH GOD IS MAJORITY

Open Heaven 31st January 2018 Wednesday MEMORISE :  What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?  Romans 8:31 READ:  2 Kings 6:11-17 11 Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was sore troubled for this thing; and he called his servants, and said unto them, Will ye not show me which of us is for the king of Israel? 12 And one of his servants said, None, my lord, O king: but Elisha, the prophet that is in Israel, telleth the king of Israel the words that thou speakest in thy bedchamber. 13 And he said, Go and spy where he is, that I may send and fetch him. And it was told him, saying, Behold, he is in Dothan. 14 Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about. 15 And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do

God Works From the Inside Out

Image
Health Food Devotional God Works From the Inside Out January 30, 2018 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. (Phil. 2:13) Healing begins in your spirit. Even physical healing for your body begins in your spirit. God doesn't start on the outside and work to the inside. No, He starts on the inside and works to the outside.  So don't look on the outside for physical healing. Look on the inside because that's where He'll begin working. And if you will look on the inside - if you will yield to that something on the inside of you and not pay so much attention to your outward symptoms - you'll eventually look around for those symptoms and find that they're gone.  Once when death had come to fasten its final throes upon me, I started laughing in my spirit. It bubbled up and started rolling out of my mouth. I was laughing in the face of death.  The devil said, "What are you laughing at?"  I said, "I'm

His Battle

Image
Faith Food Devotional His Battle January 30, 2018 "Be not afraid nor dismayed...for the battle is not yours, but God's" (2 Chron. 20:15). I believe the Greater One lives in us if we're born again (1 John 4:4). I believe Jesus is greater than the devil. I know the Word of God says that. Therefore, I must act like it's true. That's when it becomes a reality, and that's when the Greater One goes to work for me. If I go to pieces and act like I'm trying to fight the battle, the Greater One is not fighting it. And then I'm not taking advantage of the Greater One and what He has done for me. So I don't try to figure out the situation. I just lie down and go to sleep, no matter what's going on. During the years I pastored, almost every church the Lord sent me to, was a church that had trouble. One church in particular no one wanted to pastor. God dealt with me before they contacted me, so I took it. But I didn't have any trouble. I rol

A WORTHY WALK

Image
DAILY MANNA,  WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 31, 2018 A WORTHY WALK TEXT: 1JOHN 2:1-19 KEY VERSE: “He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked” (1John 2:6) MESSAGE In an era when every Dick, Tom and Harry claim and wear the tag of “child of God”, John the beloved admonishes believers to go beyond the empty claim of knowing God. In verse 6 of the chapter, he uses the phrase, “ought to walk”. It means that if we claim allegiance to God, we have a moral burden and obligation to follow Christ’s steps. It is only those who live according to the will of God that will remain in fellowship with both the Father and the Son. Believers are admonished to hold onto Jesus, who alone is the Saviour of the world and our Advocate “with the Father”. Every professing Christian must genuinely follow the path of righteousness as Christ did. Christ-like life and walk is only possible through the gracious experience of salvation. To obtain this experience, the sinner

REMAIN FOCUSED

Image
DAILY MANNA  TUESDAY, JANUARY 30, 2018 REMAIN FOCUSED TEXT: 1 Tim 1:1-11 KEY VERSE:  "Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do." (1 Timothy 1:4) MESSAGE In the course of daily life, there are always contending and contrasting signals that crave for the attention of the unwary. He that is without a clear focus is often a victim of the push-and-pull tendencies of life. At this time, Timothy was left in Ephesus by Paul the apostle for a purpose. He charged Timothy to instruct brethren to teach no other doctrine than that which they had been taught. Timothy was warned not to dabble into fables and genealogies which only "minister questions." While some came to teach false doctrines at Ephesus, there were also some Jews who used the Old Testament law to justify themselves. They were unable to keep the demands of the law and were resistant to the law of God. They p

Use Your Time Wisely

Image
For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. —James 4:14 Nothing takes God by surprise. Everything is moving according to a plan, and God wants you in that plan. The devil also has a plan for the world. God has a plan and the devil has a plan, and you will have to decide which plan you are going to fit into. Scripture says that God allows us 70 years and some beyond. The first 15 are spent in childhood and early adolescence. Twenty years are spent in bed, and in the last five, physical limitations start to curtail our activities. That gives us about 30 years in which to live as adults. We take time out for eating, and for figuring our taxes, and we are down to perhaps 15 years. Now suppose we spend seven of those years watching television. That cuts us down to seven or eight years. Our time is short! The time we can invest for God, in creative things, in reaching our fellowmen for Christ, is short! Prayer for the day Each

A GODLY ROLE MODEL?

Open heavens 30 January 2018 Tuesday MEMORISE :  Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.  1 Corinthians 11:1 READ:   Philippians 3:7-14  ( Open heavens 30 January 2018 ) 7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. 8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord:  for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, 9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: 10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; 11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. 12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am app
