ASSURANCE IS OF THE LORD
MEMORY VERSE: - Ro 8:16 The
Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
BIBLE READING: - Rom
8: 1 – 39
MESSAGE
Salvation is the first work of grace that must be done in
the heart of a true seeker whereby he is convicted of his iniquities and evil
deeds by the spirit of God; this leads to genuine confession of sins to God and
not man(Isaiah 1:18) with firm determination
not to go back into those sins. He thereafter accepts Jesus as his personal
Lord and savior and asks for cleansing by the precious blood of Jesus that was
shed on the cross for the whole world.
Even if the man of God or the evangelist that preached to
you says, now you are a child of God; you are born again, you accept that by
faith, claim it by faith, but the God’s assurance by his spirit bearing witness
with you that you are a child of God is the most important.
Do I hear you say, how is that possible? Trinity is actively
involved in the work of salvation of souls. Christ is the Lamb of God that
saves; God has the power to draw men to Christ for salvation [John 6:44]; Holy Spirit convicts of sin and
iniquities and as well bears witness with the saved person.
I hear this regularly whenever I am praying or preaching the
word to people, I hear this assuring voice within me saying “you are mine”. Each
time I hear this, I always ask this question, whose voice is that? And immediately
the response is always the Holy Spirit.
You need to examine your Christian foundation, whether it is
known in heaven that you are saved. Do you receive this witness within yourself?
If yes, abide in Christ to the end and if no this is the time of grace to seek
the Lord for the real Christian experience of salvation.
Remember that in 2Cor 10:18 Paul says “for not he that commends himself is
approved, but whom the Lord commends”
Confession of the Day
I am a child of God,
holy spirit bears witness with me on regular basis that I am his and by his grace
I will abide in Christ to the end.
