The Broken Home

Image
“There is sin in their homes, and they are polluted to the depths of their souls. But I will call upon the Lord to save me—and he will.” —Psalm 55:15,16 (TLB) The broken home has become the number one social problem of America, and could ultimately lead to the destruction of our civilization. Since the basic unit of any society is the home, when the home begins to break, the society is on the way to disintegration. It is a threat to the American way of life. It does not make screaming headlines; but, like termites, it is eating away at the heart and core of the American structure. It is high time that our so-called experts on marriage, the family, and the home turn to the Bible. We have read newspaper columns and listened to counselors on the radio; psychiatrists have had a land-office business. In it all, the One who performed the first marriage in the Garden of Eden and instituted the union between man and wife has been left out. Prayer for the day I pray, Lord, for the ho

Faith and Power

Health Food Devotional November 30, 2017 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power. (2 Thess. 1:11) I remember one gentleman whom I laid hands on fifteen or sixteen times during the course of an extended meeting we held.  I thought to myself, That poor fellow! Dear Lord, I've laid hands on him, and every time, it's like laying hands on a doorknob. But somehow, he eventually got his faith into action.  I was standing on the platform and laying hands on people as they walked by. Usually, I lay hands on people and pray, but since I had already laid hands on this man many times, I intended to just touch him and send him on his way. I thought, He is not going to get anything, anyway.  But when I touched the man's forehead, he jerked the power of God out of me until all I could see in my eyes was what looked like lightning.  I felt as if

HOLD THE FORT

OPEN HEAVENS 2017 Friday 1st December 2017  Memorise:  And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. Luke 9:62 Bible Reading:  Luke 9:61-62 61 And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house. 62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. Message  When you walk with God, not only must you be obedient, your obedience must also be complete. From the story of how Elisha stuck with Elijah till the latter was taken up to heaven, we learn that until you obey to the very end, certain blessings may not be received, and certain promises may not be fulfilled by God (2 Kings 2:1-15). This is a very serious issue as it calls for endurance.  Would Elijah have been raptured if he had refused to go on to Jordan, after obeying God’s instructions to go to Bethel and Jer

Worship

Image
Faith Food Devotional November 30, 2017 "As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Spirit said..." (Acts 13:2). This is the prayer of worship - ministering to the Lord. It is true that God is concerned about us. He is interested in us, and wants to meet our needs, because He has told us to ask. However, my personal observation is that too large a percentage of our praying is, "Give me, give me, give me." We need to take time in our individual prayer lives, in our gatherings, in our churches, to wait on God and to minister to the Lord. In this kind of atmosphere God can move. As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit manifested Himself! God made man for His own pleasure so He would have someone with whom to fellowship. He is our Father. We are born of God. No earthly parent ever enjoyed the fellowship of his children more than God enjoys the fellowship of His sons and daughters. Take time to minister to the Lord: To pray. To wait on

PRIDEFUL PRAYERS

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 1, 2017 LUKE 18:9-17 KEY VERSE: "I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted" (Luke 18:14). Jesus gave a parable of two men who went to pray. One would ordinarily expect people who pray to approach God with feelings of inadequacy, insufficiency and humility. Who would have imagined that people can pray with pride? But that was what the Pharisee did. He approached God as a self-righteous person. As such, he felt he had no reason to confess his sins to the heavenly Father. In his own judgment, there was nothing wrong with him or anything he did wrong against God. Fully satisfied with himself, he began to list his religious achievements and activities before the Almighty. His righteousness which the Bible describes as filthy, was all the man could boast of. He also compared himself with the publican and felt he w

BELIEVE, CONFESS AND POSSESS

BIBLE READING: - Rom 10: 1 – 21 MESSAGE Confession leads to possession, you possess what you confess.  When you claim any promise of God, be rest assure that it will surely come to pass because God cannot, does not, and will not lie. He is immutable, he is unchanging; his word is forever settled in heaven. When you pray for anything according to the will of God, believe in your heart that you have received it, then your confession should be it is done, I have it, I am healed, I am delivered, it is mine with thanks to God and you will have it. OVERCOMING LIKE JESUS

Image
OPEN HEAVENS 2017 Thursday 30th November 2017  Memorise:  To him that overcometh will l grant to sit with me in my throne, even as lalso overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. Revelation 3:21 Bible Reading : Revelation 3:21-22 21 To him that overcometh will l grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. 22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. Message  Man’s surest source of rest is Jesus Christ because He never breaks His promises (Matthew 11:28-29, 2 Corinthians 1:20). In John 16:33, He assures us that as long as we are in this world, tribulations and problems will come, but because He successfully overcame them, He will see us through if we put our trust in Him. Therefore, because He overcame and we are following in His footsteps, we are also bound to overcome. Are you struggling with sin and expressing doubts on whether you can ever overcome like J

His Presence

Image
That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings . . .  —Philippians 3:10 W.C. Burns of India wrote, “Oh to have a martyr’s heart, if not a martyr’s crown.” Popularity and adulation are far more dangerous for the Christian than persecution. It is easy, when all goes smoothly, to lose our sense of balance and our perspective. The important thing is to walk with Christ, to live for Christ, and to have one consuming passion—to please Him. Then, whatever happens, we know that He has permitted it in order to teach us some priceless lesson and to perfect us for His service. He will enrich our circumstances, be they pleasant or disagreeable, by the fact of His presence with us. Prayer for the day Lord, my soul wants to love and know You far more deeply. Forgive the times I have set my eyes on things that keep me from You.

PROPHET AMONGST PROPHETS

Image
THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 30, 2017 DEUTERONOMY 18:15-22 KEY VERSE: "The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken" (Deuteronomy 18:15). In his book, Prophet, novelist Frank Peretti tells the story of a television news anchor, John Barnett, who upon his father’s accidental death, is encouraged to investigate and report on problems at an abortion clinic. He soon discovers his producer attempting to fabricate a story and himself hearing mysterious "voices". In the process of continuing his investigations John finds God and Truth. Prophets and prophecies are always associated with truth. Even when they are false, it is the truth that exposes them as false. Moses knew his time was up: his ministry as a prophet and leader of the Israelites was coming to an end. As a true prophet, God revealed His plan for the coming generation to him. This great plan of God was the coming of

'They Jerked the Power of God Out of Me!'

Image
Health Food Devotional November 29, 2017 To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.  (Ps. 63:2) I've laid hands on people for healing, ministering to them by faith the healing power of God. And I knew it when that healing power went into them. I felt it in my hands as it went into them. But somehow, many weren't even conscious of it. It was like I had laid my hands on a doorknob. There was no response. I've seen those same people come back with their faith active and say, "Just put your hand on me. I'll receive right now." I'd reach out to touch them, and it seemed like they jerked the power of God out of me! I remember one woman in particular. I didn't know it was going to happen. I didn't even know what had happened afterward until I started getting up! You see, when I laid hands on her, the power of God came out of me so strong that she fell, and I fell on top of her! I didn't even know I had fallen;

Midnight Praise

Image
Faith Food Devotional November 29, 2017 "And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them" (Acts 16:25). Singing, praising, and thanksgiving all go together. Paul and Silas had been beaten with many stripes, cast into prison, and their feet put in stocks. But at midnight they prayed and sang praises to God—aloud. The other prisoners heard them! Most people in similar circumstances would have griped and complained. If they had been like some modern Christians, Silas would have said, "Paul, are you still there?" And Paul would have answered, "Where else would I be?" Silas would have complained, "I'll tell you, my poor back is hurting so bad. I don't understand why God let this happen to us. He knows we've tried to serve Him and do our best!" That kind of praying would have gotten Paul and Silas further in—instead of out! God didn't have them thrown in jail; the devil did. But ther

ASSURANCE IS OF THE LORD

Image
THURSDAY NOVEMBER 30, 2017 Words of Life Daily Devotional ASSURANCE IS OF THE LORD MEMORY VERSE: - Ro 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: BIBLE READING: - Rom 8: 1 – 39 MESSAGE Salvation is the first work of grace that must be done in the heart of a true seeker whereby he is convicted of his iniquities and evil deeds by the spirit of God; this leads to genuine confession of sins to God and not man( Isaiah 1:18) with firm determination not to go back into those sins. He thereafter accepts Jesus as his personal Lord and savior and asks for cleansing by the precious blood of Jesus that was shed on the cross for the whole world. Even if the man of God or the evangelist that preached to you says, now you are a child of God; you are born again, you accept that by faith, claim it by faith, but the God’s assurance by his spirit bearing witness with you that you are a child of God is the most important. Do I hear you say,

REALITIES OF SELFISHNESS

Image
OPEN HEAVENS 2017 Wednesday 29th November 2017 Memorise:  For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy. 2nd Timothy 3:2 Read:  Mark 12:28-31 (KJV) 28 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? 29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: 30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. 31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. Bible in one year:  Psalm 73-77, Micah 6:9-7:7 MESSAGE  On the 22nd of this month, we saw that those Christians who always want everything to revolve around them a

Be Filled

Faith Food Devotional November 28, 2017 "For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.... For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest? For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified" (1 Cor. 14:2,14-17). God has given to the Church a divine, supernatural means of communication with Himself! God is a Spirit. When we speak in tongues, our spirit is in direct contact with God, who is a Spirit! We are talking to Him by a divine, supernatural means. By this means

Satan at Work

Image
In whom we have redemption . . . the forgiveness of sins. —Ephesians 1:7 Satan is at work in our world. The Bible is my authority. He exists and he has control over thousands of young people, whose hearts have never been captured by Jesus Christ. He has hundreds of agents writing pornographic literature and producing sex movies to pollute young minds. He has intellectuals in high positions teaching a hedonistic and permissive philosophy. Daily I come in contact with mixed-up people who are caught in the anguish of their own unpreparedness, intellectuals who have been seduced by false science, and rich men who are held in the grip of insecurity. They have no commitment to any goal. They lack an anchor for their real selves. And I long to take every one of them by the hand and lead them into the presence of the One who said, “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Prayer for the day So many are without You, Lord! Use me to lead others f

POWER OF THE TONGUE

Image
WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 29, 2017 Words of Life Daily Devotional POWER OF THE TONGUE MEMORY VERSE: - Pr 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. BIBLE READING: - James 3: 1 – 12 MESSAGE The word of life, book of instruction before leaving earth (Bible) says “power of life and death is under the tongue.” You possess whatever you confess. In Mark 11: 23 says For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Jesus said he will have whatever he says, whatever he confesses. If you speak and say what God says, you will have whatever you confess or say. Caleb and Joshua confessed what God told them and they possessed the promise land, on the other hand, the other ten confessed negative things contrary to God

The Power Has a Purpose

Image
November 28, 2017 ...And the power of the Lord was present to heal them. (Luke 5:17) I remember an Assembly of God traveling minister who received a thrilling revelation concerning the power of God.  One Saturday night, he was ministering in a certain church. As the congregation was singing, he was sitting on the platform. Suddenly, a surge of power came into the little church room and went through his body.  He could have jumped up and started shouting, but he didn't. He just held steady. They kept on singing, and a surge of power swept over the whole crowd.  "The third time, that power swept over me again," he said, "I could have shouted, jumped, run, or done all three at one time! I literally had to hold on to the pew to keep myself down. It seemed like I was going to float away."  He said to the Lord, "I know You must have some purpose for this other than for me to just shout and have a good time in the Lord. I believe in shouting, but n
