OVERFLOWING LAUGHTER

Image
OPEN HEAVENS 2017 Wednesday 1st November 2017 Memorise:  And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me. Genesis 21:6 Read : 2nd Kings 2:1-15 (KJV) 1 And it came to pass, when the Lord would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal. 2 And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray thee; for the Lord hath sent me to Bethel. And Elisha said unto him, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Bethel. 3 And the sons of the prophets that were at Bethel came forth to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Lord will take away thy master from thy head today? And he said, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace. 4 And Elijah said unto him, Elisha, tarry here, I pray thee; for the Lordhath sent me to Jericho. And he said, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they came to Jericho. 5 And the sons of the prophets t

Triumph in Affliction

Image
You don't understand now why I am doing it; some day you will. —John 13:7 (TLB) May I remind you that physical illness is not the worst thing that can happen to you? Some of the most twisted, miserable people I have ever met had no physical handicap. Some of the world’s greatest and most useful people have been handicapped. “The Messiah” was composed by Handel, who was suffering from a paralyzed right side and arm. Catherine Booth, in the last year of her life, said that she could not remember one day free from pain. Helen Keller has written, “I thank God for my handicaps, for through them I have found myself, my work, and God.” Some of the most radiant Christians I have ever met were “wheelchair” saints. May God give you grace to “triumph in affliction.” Prayer for the day When physical afflictions come into my life, may they draw me closer to You, my beloved Lord Jesus Christ.

SACRIFICE OF THANKSGIVING

Image
WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 1, 2017 LEVITICUS 22:26-33 KEY VERSE: "And when ye will offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving unto the LORD, offer it at your own will" (Leviticus 22:29). The sacrifice of thanksgiving is mentioned several times in the Old Testament. It is first mentioned in Leviticus 7:11- 15. These verses seem to indicate that the sacrifice of thanksgiving is actually a peace offering that is motivated by appreciation to God. This type of offering included an animal sacrifice as well as various cereal or bread offerings. Like all peace offerings, it was voluntary, offered by the worshiper on those occasions when he was motivated to express thanksgiving to God. Secondly, it was shared into three portions, to the Lord, the priest, and the worshiper. This contrasted with other types of offerings, which were either entirely burnt (except for the skin) on the altar as an offering to the Lord, or partly burned on the altar and partly consumed by the priest. But fo

Teaching Should Come First

Image
Health Food Devotional And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. (Matt. 9:35) When Jesus encountered unbelief, He went about teaching (see Mark 6:5 and 6). Notice that the ministry of Jesus consisted of three aspects in this order: teaching, preaching, and healing.  Many people want to reverse that order. They want healing first, then preaching, and no teaching. But if you want to get the results Jesus had, follow His example. Let's continue reading. But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion [or mercy] on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest. (Matt. 9:36-38) Now these laborers that a

Forgiveness

Faith Food Devotional But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses (Mark 11:26).   "Brother Hagin," a woman once said, "cast this old, unforgiving spirit out of me. I've got something against a woman here at church, and I can't forgive her. I don't seem to have the ability to forgive." I replied, "Do you ever have to forgive your husband?" "Oh, yes. I have to forgive him, and he has to forgive me." "I thought you said you didn't have the ability to forgive." She laughed and said, "I can forgive, can't I?" "Certainly," I said, "if you can forgive one person, you can forgive another." She understood and replied, "I can forgive. I do forgive. That's it!" And it's just that simple. Don't complicate forgiveness. Jesus said, "When ye stand praying, forgive." That means we can forgive. Jesus didn't ask us

EVIL BOWS BEFORE GOOD

Image
WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 1, 2017 Words of Life Daily Devotional EVIL BOWS BEFORE GOOD MEMORY VERSE: -  Pr 14:19 The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous. BIBLE READING: - Dan 6: 1 - 28 MESSAGE Do not allow evil to overcome you; to turn you to a wicked man or woman; to make you loose your joy; but overcome evil with good. You can do it because God's grace is available for you, just ask for it in prayer for it is the very nature of our God. Jesus even on the cross prayed for his enemies and Stephen at the point of death prayed to God for his persecutors that God should not count it against them. Above all, whatever happens, you are not to avenge yourself, vengeance belong to God, he will avenge you. In  Ro 12:19  we are admonished as believers that   Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Taking the place of God by wanting to fight your en

TOTAL PURGING REQUIRED

DAILY MANNA TUESDAY 31ST OCTOBER, 2017 TOTAL PURGING REQUIRED TEXT: 2 KINGS 18:1-12 KEY VERSE: “He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brazen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan" (2KINGS 18:4). When Dan Edwards was ordained as a missionary, Robert Murray McChenye, in a letter, advised him, “In great measure, according to the purity and perfections of the instruments, will be the success. It is not great talents, but God blesses so much as great likeness to Jesus. A holy minister is an awful weapon in the hand of God.” From the text, Hezekiah did not take a cue from his father, Ahaz, having known that he did not live up to God’s expectation. Rather, he took after David, his ancestor, who was a man after God’s heart, and purged the land of Judah of all filthiness. The people had been enmeshed in sins and Hezekiah embarked on

Unforgiveness

Faith Food Devotional October 30, 2017 "And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses" (Mark 11:25). Jesus had just made those marvelous, thrilling, amazing, astounding statements recorded in Mark 11:23 and 24. (And no one has ever yet plumbed the depths of those statements.) But at the same time - at the same scene - and with the same breath - Jesus said, "And when ye stand praying, forgive...." If there is an air of unforgiveness about you, your faith won't work! Your prayers won't work! Unforgiveness is the only hindrance to faith that Jesus ever mentioned. Therefore, the subject of unforgiveness must be of primary importance. (If my prayers and my faith don't work, the area of unforgiveness would be the first place I'd examine in my life.) However, I never permit unforgiveness about anyone to enter into my mind at all. I refuse to think about anythin

PRAYERLESSNESS DISALLOWED

Image
OPEN HEAVENS 2017 PRAYERLESSNESS DISALLOWED – Tuesday October 31st 2017 Memorise:  Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. Matthew 26:41 Read:  Mark 13:32-37 (KJV) 32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. 33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. 34 For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. 35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: 36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. 37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch. Bible in one year : James 1-3, Hosea 8 MESSAGE  Prayerlessness is a major challenge facing contemporary believers. Many refuse to pray as t

Have Faith in Jesus' Words

Health Food Devotional October 30, 2017 Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way. (John 4:50) In John chapter 4, we find the account of the nobleman's son. So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum. When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death. Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe. The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die. Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way. (John 4:46-50) Notice that it was by simple faith in Jesus' words that this nobleman's son was healed. Jesus simply said to him, "Go your

Hope for the Future

For our citizenship is in heaven; from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. —Philippians 3:20 (NASB) If you are moving to a new home, you want to know all about the community to which you are going. And since we will spend eternity some place, we ought to know something about it. The information concerning heaven is found in the Bible. When we talk about heaven, earth grows shabby by comparison. Our sorrows and problems here seem so much less, when we have keen anticipation of the future. In a certain sense the Christian has heaven here on earth. He has peace of soul, peace of conscience, and peace with God. In the midst of troubles and difficulties he can smile. He has a spring in his step, a joy in his soul, a smile on his face. But the Bible also promises the Christian a heaven in the life hereafter. Prayer for the day Father, as I face whatever trials come my way, I will take heart in the glorious promise of heaven—knowing I shall be with You!

END IS BETTER THAN BEGINNING

TUESDAY OCTOBER 31. 2017 Words of Life Daily Devotional END BETTER THAN BEGINNING MEMORY VERSE: -  Ecc 7:8 Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. BIBLE READING: - 1Kings 13: 1:1 - 34 MESSAGE It is quite sometimes now that you started your Christian race, you remain in the faith by His special grace and not by your own strength. I encourage you this morning to keep marching forward as a good soldier of Jesus Christ bearing in mind that he that endures to the end shall be saved. A little frivolity and undue repose can cause you dearly, therefore be on your guard, be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary and archenemy, the devil as a roaring lion is moving about seeking whom he may devour. He will not get you, he will not devour you in Jesus name. His schemes, toils and labour to see you slide back and fall will not prosper in the mighty name of Jesus. I want you to learn from the young pro

ARE YOU A CHILD OF GOD?

Image
MONDAY OCTOBER 30, 2017 Words of Life Daily Devotional ARE YOU A CHILD OF GOD? MEMORY VERSE: -  Jn 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: BIBLE READING: - Jn 3: 1 - 36 MESSAGE Virtually everybody claims to be a child of God. But not all are children of God despite the fact that we are created by Him. That your parents are founder of a church does not make you a Christian, confirmation, water baptism, a choir member, lay reader and so on do not make you a child of God.   To become a true child of God, you need to take the following steps: Acknowledge your sinfulness (1Jn 1:10) Abandon(confess and forsake) your sins earnestly(Prov 28:13) Accept Jesus as your personal Lord( author, controller, master) and saviour Abide in His word thereafter continually Avail yourself of the resources in the kingdom that can keep you Remain steadfast in believers fellowship Come out from every u

God Is Love!

Image
Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love . . .  —Jeremiah 31:3 As I read the Bible, I find love to be the supreme and dominant attribute of God. The promises of God’s love and forgiveness are as real, as sure, as positive, as human words can make them. But the total beauty of the ocean cannot be understood until it is seen, and it is the same with God’s love. Until you actually experience it, until you actually possess it, no one can describe its wonders to you. Never question God’s great love, for it is as unchangeable a part of God as His holiness. Were it not for the love of God, none of us would ever have a chance in the future life. But God is love! And His love for us is everlasting. Prayer for the day Knowing myself as I do, Lord, the knowledge of Your love and forgiveness never ceases to amaze me. In the knowledge of this, help me to communicate to others that this love is theirs too, if they will only reach out for it.

REPENTANCE IS IT!

Image
MONDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2017 JEREMIAH 32:1-15 KEY VERSE: "For Zedekiah king of Judah had shut him up, saying, Wherefore dost thou prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it" (Jeremiah 32:3). Gipsy Smith, in his book, ‘The Bible Friend,’ told a story of a Dutchman, who got converted during his service in South Africa. The next morning, he returned the watch he had stolen eight years earlier from another Dutchman. When asked why he brought the watch back, he said: "I was converted last night and I have brought it back first thing this morning. If you had been up, I would have brought it last night." The Jews, from our text, never considered repentance to be paramount in their lives. Instead, they felt Jeremiah was a threat to their existence. God had revealed their captivity to Jeremiah who delivered the message point-blank. Zedekiah, the king of Judah, was not comfortab

SHUTTING UP MOCKERS

Image
OPEN HEAVENS 2017 Monday October 30th 2017 Memorize:  The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish. Proverbs 10:28 Read:  Psalm 35:15-19 (KJV) 15 But in mine adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together: yea, the abjects gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not; they did tear me, and ceased not: 16 With hypocritical mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth. 17 Lord, how long wilt thou look on? rescue my soul from their destructions, my darling from the lions. 18 I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people. 19 Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause. Bible in one year:  Hebrews 11-13, Hosea 7 MESSAGE God is a specialist at disgracing mockers and giving His Children the last laugh. This season, you shall laugh last in Jesus’ Name! In Ma
