THE MERCY & GRACE OF GOD

Image
OPEN HEAVENS 2017 Sunday October 1st 2017 Memorise:  Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16 Read:  2nd Corinthians 6:1-10 (KJV) 1 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. 2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) 3 Giving no offence in anything, that the ministry be not blamed: 4 But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses, 5 In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings; 6 By pureness, by knowledge, by long suffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned, 7 By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right ha

Our Defeated Foe

Image
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword . . . —Hebrews 4:12 How do we overcome the devil in everyday life? First, we need to recognize that the devil is a defeated foe. The Son of God came to undo the work of the devil. The crucifixion of Christ, which looked like a mighty victory for Satan, turned out to be a great triumph for God, because it was on the cross that Jesus took your sins and my sins. God laid our sins on Christ, so that when our Lord bowed His head and said, “It is finished,” He was referring to the plan of redemption and salvation. Then . . . we are to resist the devil. If we resist him, Scripture says, he will flee from us. Jesus overcame the devil not by argument but simply by quoting Scripture. That is why it is so important to learn and memorize Scripture passages. Prayer for the day Thank You, heavenly Father, for the protection of Your Word as I face everyday temptations.

You Have Rights and Privileges

Image
Health Food Devotional September 30, 2017 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Cor. 5:17) So many people may know the Lord Jesus as their personal Savior and yet not know a thing in the world about their rights and privileges in Him. They don't know who they are in Christ, because you'll still hear them saying, "I'm so weak and unworthy." No, they're not!  If your spirit has been born again, you've become a new man in Christ Jesus (2 Cor. 5:17). And God doesn't make any unworthy creatures. You're a new creature in Christ Jesus. You have the life and nature of God in you.  Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4). You are the righteousness of God in Christ (2 Cor. 5:21).  You have been redeemed from the hand of the enemy. Colossians 1:13 says, "Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into

Helper

Faith Food Devotional September 30, 2017 "And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever" (John 14:16 AMP). It is sad to realize that some Christians ignore the Holy Spirit who is indwelling within them. I believe they mistakenly think He will come in, take control of their lives, and make them do whatever needs to be done automatically with no effort on their part - but He won't. Demons do that. They are the ones that make people do things which the people don't want to do. Demons drive, force, and control people. The Holy Spirit, on the other hand, is a Gentleman. He will never force you to do anything against your will. In the Scriptures we see that the Holy Spirit leads, guides, prompts, and urges. He may give you a gentle "push," but He will never force you to act. Some complain, "Why doesn't God do this o

TRUE FREEDOM

Image
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 1, 2017 1 KINGS 19:1-8 KEY VERSE: "And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat" (1 Kings 19:5). True freedom for a person or nation is anchored on God, not on rickety human concepts, philosophy or institutions. Otherwise, the nations of the world waving flags of so-called independence would not remain shackled by satanic fetters of economic, political and social woes. True liberty also comes by consistently abiding in God and not running away from His ways or avoiding tasks appointed by Him. It is strange that after the defeat of the prophets of Baal and the dramatic answer to prayer for rain, the great servant of God, Elijah, would flee from the evil queen Jezebel and request God to take his life. He was discouraged and went into hiding in Beersheba, where he sought for freedom from Jezebel and her evil schemes. As he sat under a tree expecting the Lord to answer his praye

ALL ROUND FAVOUR FOR THE RIGHTEOUS

Image
SUNDAY OCTOBER 1ST, 2017 Word of Life Daily Devotional ALL ROUND FAVOUR FOR THE RIGHTEOUS MEMORY VERSE: -  Ps 5:12 For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield. BIBLE READING: - Dan 6: 1 - 28 MESSAGE The righteous ones are those that believe and accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and saviour; because Jesus is the righteousness and power of God. Also, Abraham believed the Lord and it was counted to him for righteousness.Daniel in the land of Babylon was favoured by God because he was righteous, so also Joseph in Egypt; God even said in holy scriptures that if a man's way pleases the Lord, he will even makes his enemies to be at peace with him, this is also a favour from the Lord. Do you want favour of men and of God, then surrender all to Jesus (the righteousness of God ) and let him be the Lord over your life and you will be righteous before God. Confession of the Day I am a favoured child of God, I am righteo

Our Greatest Need

Image
I stretch forth my hands unto thee; my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land... —Psalm 143:6 Not long ago I visited the dean of a great American university. We looked out the window of his office and watched hundreds of students walking to their classes. I asked the dean, “What is the greatest problem at this university?” He thought a moment and answered, “Emptiness.” So many people today are bored, lonely, searching for something. You can see it in their faces. One girl home from college told her wealthy father, “Father, I want something but I don’t know what it is.” That’s true of many people; we want something to meet the deepest problems of our lives, but we haven’t found it. David said, “I have found it. I shall not want.” The Apostle Paul expressed it, “I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content.” You don’t have to give up on life, to throw up your hands and cry, “It’s no use.” . . . You can have God’s peace, God’s joy, God’s happiness, God’s security; and

FORGET NOT HIS BENEFITS

Image
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, 2017 PSALM 103:1-22 KEY VERSE: "Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits" (Psalm 103:2). The story was told of a young boy who was given writing materials to write everything God and Satan had done for him within an hour. He set out to write about the blessings he received from God. He kept on remembering new things to write about the goodness of God in his life, and by the time he was done with that, the entire time was taken. So he wrote at the bottom of his script "NO TIME FOR SATAN". It is difficult to itemize all benefits we receive from God as His children. David, in the text, listed several of them, but the list is endless: He forgives all our sins, heals all our diseases, redeems our lives from destruction, satisfies our mouths with good things, provides justice for the oppressed, shows mercy to people, and retains not His anger forever. Attention was then shifted to His throne in heaven, where the a

DON’T BE THE GUINEA PIG!

OPEN HEAVENS 2017 Saturday September 30th 2017 Memorise:  Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. 1st Corinthians 10:6 Read:  1st Corinthians 10:1-12 (KJV) 1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat; 4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. 5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. 6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. 7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. 8 Neither let us commit fornication, a

What Is Confession?

Image
Health Food Devotional September 29, 2017 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Rom. 10:9) What is confession? First, it's affirming something that we believe. Second, it's testifying to something that we know. And third, it's witnessing for a truth that we've embraced.  What are we to confess? Well, our confession should center around five things:  What God in Christ has wrought for us in His great plan of redemption.  What God through the Word and the Holy Spirit has wrought in us in the New Birth and the baptism in the Holy Ghost.  What we are to God the Father in Christ Jesus.  What Jesus is doing for us now at the right hand of the Father in His present-day ministry.  What the Word of God will do through our lips. Now you cannot confess or witness about things you do not know about. It's what you personally know about the Lord Jes

Ability

Faith Food Devotional September 29, 2017 "…For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people" (2 Cor. 6:16). Few Christians seem to be conscious of the fact that God lives in them. They couldn't be and still talk the way they do. What do I mean? When a need arises in their life, some Christians are quick to say, "No, I can't do that." Why? Because they're trusting in themselves, or the flesh, to put them over. They know they don't have the ability in themselves to do it. But if we are conscious that God is in us, then we know He has the ability to do anything. So we can stop saying, "I can't," and we can begin saying with confidence, "I can - because I'm trusting God! I can - because God is in me! I can - because greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world!" No matter what you face, and you may be facin

HE MAKES ME DWELL IN SAFETY

Image
SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 30, 2017 Word of Life Daily Devotional HE MAKES ME DWELL IN SAFETY MEMORY VERSE: - Ps 4:8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety. BIBLE READING: - Ps 4: 1 – 8 MESSAGE There are lot of heartbreaking problems and happenings around us today; natural disasters, earthquakes, suicide bombers, ritualists, men slayers, men sellers, kidnappers, men eaters and lots of wicked men. But a sanctified believer will not lose the peace of God in his life because he knows that his true security is in God. Jesus said in John 14:27 that “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” Faithful is he who has made this promise, he will definitely fulfill it in your life. Come what may, be rest assured that he will keep you, care for you and nourish you. A thousand shall fall at thy side and ten thousand at thy right han

WATCH AND PRAY

Image
FRIDAY 29TH SEPTEMBER, 2017 Word of Life Daily Devotional WORK AND PRAY MEMORY VERSE: -  Col 4:2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; BIBLE READING: - Matt 26: 36 - 41 MESSAGE P rayer is expedient and indispensable to a true child of God, he cannot do without it. No christian experience can be obtained here on earth without prayers; likewise, no good gift can be obtained from the Lord without prayers. It is the sure way by which we communicate to GOD. Our Lord Jesus Christ when he was here on earth showed us the importance of prayer and watchfulness by doing it diligently himself (John 8:1; Lk 21:37); and he taught his disciples to do likewise and by extension to every believer. He maintain constant fellowship with the God our heavenly father; he did not give room for the devil at all. But we are admonished not to only pray, we must as well be watchful over our spiritual lives and the the company we keep. To overcome temptation and not to fall int

CONTAGIOUS DISEASE -

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 2017 LEVITICUS 14:33-57 KEY VERSE: "And he shall cleanse the house with the blood of the bird, and with the running water, and with the living bird, and with the cedar wood, and with the hyssop, and with the scarlet" (Leviticus 14:52). Isolation and quarantine of individuals of infected or having a high risk of possible infection are commonly used as control measures during epidemic. Although isolation is probably always a desirable public health measure, quarantine is more controversial as it can inflict significant social, psychological, and economic costs without resulting in the detection of many infected individuals! When isolation is ineffective, the use of quarantine will be most beneficial when there is significant transmission rate. Leprosy is a contagious disease. The Lord, knowing this, put laws in place for all manner of the plague of leprosy to prevent the spread of the disease! From our text, the priest was to visit and

Do Not Compromise

Out of his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you the mighty inner strengthening of his Holy Spirit. —Ephesians 3:16 (TLB) Horace Pitkin, the son of a wealthy merchant, was converted and went to China as a missionary. He wrote to his friends in America, saying, “It will be but a short time till we know definitely whether we can serve Him better above or here.” Shortly afterward, a mob stormed the gate of the compound where Pitkin defended the women and children. He was beheaded and his head was offered at the shrine of a heathen god, while his body was thrown into a pit with the bodies of nine Chinese Christians. Sherwood Eddy, writing about him, said, “Pitkin won more men by his death than he ever could have won by his life.” Christ needs people today who are made of martyr stuff! Dare to take a strong, uncompromising stand for Him. Prayer for the day Thank You, Lord, for the examples of those who have gone before us. Help me to take hold of Your unlimited strength, t

DELAYED PROVISION

OPEN HEAVENS 2017 Friday September 29th 2017 Memorise:  The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season. Psalm 145:15 Read:  Daniel 10:7-13 (KJV) 7 And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves. 8 Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength. 9 Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground. 10 And, behold, an hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands. 11 And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling. 12 Then s
