October 1 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.—LUKE 10:19 ‘ No Trespassing!’  Satan and sickness and disease are not your masters. I found that out many years ago. In 1937, I read an excerpt in Reader’s Digest that got me thinking along this line. It stated that in front of one of the government office buildings in Washington, D.C., there was a little patch of grass about fourteen feet by twenty-eight feet. Instead of people walking on the sidewalk, they would cut right across that little patch of green grass. They had worn out that grass, so the caretaker put stakes and a string up. It wasn’t very high. And people just stepped over the string and kept walking on the grass. To fix this problem, the caretaker painted a crude sign and put it up right in the middle of the grass. The sign said, “Gentlemen will not and others must not trespass on this property.” And that stopped it. Wh

September 30 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.—2 CORINTHIANS 5:17 You Have Rights and Privileges So many people may know the Lord Jesus as their personal Savior and yet not know a thing in the world about their rights and privileges in Him. They don’t know who they are in Christ, because you’ll still hear them saying, “I’m so weak and unworthy.” No, they’re not! If your spirit has been born again, you’ve become a new man in Christ Jesus (2 Cor. 5:17). And God doesn’t make any unworthy creatures. You’re a new creature in Christ Jesus. You have the life and nature of God in you. Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4). You are the righteousness of God in Christ(2Cor. 5:21). You have been redeemed from the hand of the enemy. Colossians 1:13 says, “Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.” You’re not in the ki

September 29 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.—ROMANS 10:9 What Is Confession? What is confession? First, it’s affirming something that we believe. Second, it’s testifying to something that we know. And third, it’s witnessing for a truth that we’ve embraced. What are we to confess? Well, our confession should center around five things: (1) What God in Christ has wrought for us in His great plan of redemption; (2) what God through the Word and the Holy Spirit has wrought in us in the New Birth and the baptism in the Holy Ghost; (3) what we are to God the Father in Christ Jesus; (4) what Jesus is doing for us now at the right hand of the Father in His present-day ministry; and (5) what the Word of God will do through our lips. Now you cannot confess or witness about things you do not know about.It’s what you personally know about the Lord Jesus Christ and what you are in

September 27 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. —ROMANS 10:10 The Power of a Right Confession Notice this scripture says that we are not only to believe with our heart, but we are also to confess with our mouth. It says that confession brings about salvation. Actually, all that we receive from God is received that way— through faith. It’s always with the heart that we believe and with the mouth that we confess. With the heart we believe for healing, and with the mouth confession is made unto healing. Everything we receive from God comes this way. Now the same thought appears in another text that we’ve looked at: “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith” (Mark 11:23). September 25 I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. —PSALM 118:17 ‘ He Will Live and Not Die’ Several years ago, a woman came to one of my crusades. When she saw what the Bible said about healing, she started shouting. I didn’t pray for her. She just jumped up and started shouting. I stepped back and let her holler and shout. I noticed that others seemed to be quite blessed by it. The pastor said to me, “Brother Hagin, that woman and her husband are some of the wealthiest people in this area. They’re worth billions! Now they’re not Pentecostal; they belong to the First Presbyterian Church.” After awhile, the woman ran down to the front, and we all praised God with her. When I dismissed the service, she came and thanked me. I said, “There’s no use in thanking me. Thank the Lord.” “Yes,” she said, “but you brought the truth to me. My son is in the UCLA Hospital. He’s only twenty-one years old. He’ll be twenty-two in a few days. The doctors say he’ll never live to s

September 24 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.—PSALM 112:7 Fear Thou Not After one of my morning services, a woman came up to me crying and said, “Brother Hagin, I’m afraid. There is a hereditary condition that is passed down in my family. It is going to happen to me.” I said, “Open your Bible to Isaiah 41:10. God said, ‘Fear thounot; for I am with thee. . . .’ God is with you, sister!” I asked her if she was born again. And she said that she was. I asked her if she was filled with the Spirit and she said that she was. I said, “Then greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4). I said to her, “Can you really believe that God is with you and be afraid? No, you’re afraid when you think that He is not with you.” Then she said, “You don’t understand how weak and helpless I am.” I read her the rest of Isaiah 41:10, “. . . be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will up

September 23 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.—PROVERBS 4:20 Attend to God’s Word God tells us to attend to His Word. Let me give you an illustration. Let’s say I meet someone on the street who says, “Brother Hagin, I want to talk to you.” And I respond, “Well, I can’t talk right now. I’ve got some business to attend to.” What does that mean? It means I have to put that other business first. God said to listen to His sayings. Some people are listening to what others are saying instead of to what God is saying. Donald Gee, a pioneer of the Pentecostal movement, said that every man in his family died before the age of forty. Well, when he got up around that age, fear came on him. Some of the symptoms his relatives experienced started showing up. And the devil said, “The same thing is happening to you. You’re going to die. You’ll not live past forty. It’s incurable. The doctors can’t cure it.” As he was driving down the road one day, he dealt with that fear an

September 22 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.—1 JOHN 4:4 The Greater One Within We know that spiritual things are superior to physical things. God, a Spirit, created physical things. We know that spiritual forces are stronger than physical forces. And we know that greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world. The Greater One within us is Master of disease and weakness. And we trust in Him with all of our hearts. He rises up in us and gives illumination which we can get from no other source. We know that we cannot be conquered! So what exactly is the Greater One doing in you? Is He in you as extra baggage for you to carry through life? No, there’s a divine Personality in you. And He is greater than the personality that’s in the world—Satan, the god of this world. The Greater One in you is greater than sickness and disease, and He is greater than the devil and demons. September 21 As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.—PSALM 18:30 Believing Is Resting The Word of God is perfect, and it can meet every crisis of our lives. It holds the answer to every problem or need of our lives. If we trust that Word with all of our hearts, a quietness, or a rest, comes into our spirits. Hebrews 4:3 says, “For we which have believed do enter into rest. . . .” Believing is knowing that God’s Word is true and can be depended upon. We know that the Word of God is true. Philippians 4:19 says, “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” So we know in our spirits that every need will be supplied. We don’t have to worry or have anxiety. If we are worrying or anxious, then we’re not believing. Smith Wigglesworth said, “If what some people claim to be believing doesn’t happen overnight, they’re ready to give up on it. That proves that they never did believe G

September 19 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear. —1 PETER 3:15 The Lordship of Jesus Our spirit responds when we yield to the lordship of Jesus. The key to biblical faith is the recognition in our own heart of the lordship of Jesus. Sanctify the Lord God in your heart. The word “sanctify” means to separate or to set apart. The Amplified Bible says, “But in your hearts set Christ apart as holy [and acknowledge Him] as Lord. Always be ready to give a logical defense to anyone who asks you to account for the hope that is in you, but do it courteously and respectfully.” We set Christ apart in our heart when we crown Jesus as the Lord of our life. We crown His Word as the Lord of our lives. This gives the Word its proper place. When we give the Word  it's place, faith becomes perfectly natural. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.—ROMANS 10:10–11 Heart Faith Versus Head Faith Five years later, I was preaching in that same area, and the man who was healed of deafness and lameness was still well. He walked perfectly without a cane and didn’t need any hearing aids. He was seventy-seven years old. But this woman pastor was still in every healing line I had, trying to get healed. Five more years went by and I visited the same area. The man, now eighty-two years old, was still healed from all the serious problems he’d had. He was still well and strong. And the woman pastor was still in every healing line I had. She finally said, “I’m resigning my church. My health has gotten so bad that I can’t carry on.” My heart went out to her, but I couldn’t help her because she refused to believe that she had something that her physical senses told her she didn’t have. September 17 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.—MARK 11:24 You Have to Believe Before You Receive I remember saying to the Lord in my spirit, “Lord, this woman is the pastor of a church, and she’s standing in the way of some people here that need to be healed. Can I help her?” Sometimes God will speak to you in an inward voice. But sometimes the revelation of the word of knowledge comes to you as a picture on the inside. That’s what happened in this case. On the inside of me, I saw the whole thing. I knew she wouldn’t be helped, but the Lord showed me exactly what to do to help the crowd. I said to the woman, “Come back up here.” She retraced her steps up the aisle and stood in front of me again. I said to her, “When are you going to start believing that you are healed?” She said, “When I get healed.” “Well,” I said, “why in the world would you want to believe it then? You would know it then!” She

September 16 Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.—JOHN 4:48 Don’t Let Your Physical Senses Dictate What You Believe That night I went to the service, and after I had preached, people got in the prayer line to be healed and to be filled with the Holy Ghost. I began to lay hands on them, and when I came to this woman pastor, I was very conscious of her, because it hadn’t been more than three hours or so since the associate pastor and I had been talking about her case. I spent a little extra time with her and put up my spiritual antenna. I checked to see if the Lord would say anything to me. I asked her what she came for, and she told me she came for healing. Then she described some of the things that were wrong with her. I laid hands on her and prayed. She said, “No, no, I didn’t get it. I don’t have it.” I said, “I’ll pray for you again.” So I laid hands on her and prayed again. She began to press around on her body and said, “No, it’s still so

September 15 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.—JOHN 17:17 Look to the Word of God I was holding a meeting in Oklahoma, and several churches were cooperating. The associate pastor of the church where we were holding the meeting said to me one day, “Brother Hagin, why doesn’t Sister _______ receive her healing?” “Well,” I said, “I don’t know. I don’t even know who Sister _______ is.” He went on to explain to me that Sister _______ was a pastor from one of the churches that was cooperating with this meeting. When he described her, I remembered seeing her. He said, “She’s been in every healing line and hasn’t received her healing. So some of the folks from our church who need healing have said, ‘If Sister _______ can’t get healed, there is no use in us getting in the healing line.’ “I’ve known her all my life. She used to be Presbyterianbefore she was baptized with the Holy Ghost. One time, she was voted the most outstanding Christian among the Presbyterians in her part o

September 14 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.—2 CORINTHIANS 4:18 Look at What Is Unseen How can you look at something unseen? You’re certainly not looking at it with your physical eyes. No, you’re looking at it with your spiritual eyes, or the eyes of your spirit. You’re looking at it through the eyes of faith. A person who does not look at what is seen is not motivated by what is seen. Rather, he or she is motivated by the unseen. People who are sick and are prayed for again and again do not get healed because they are motivated by their sight or by their feelings. The same people, if they feel well, say they’re well. And if they feel sick, they say they’re sick. They’re motivated entirely by their feelings. I pay no attention to my feelings whatsoever. I couldn’t care less about them. I’m moved only by what I believe. I adopted a motto from S

September 13 For we walk by faith, not by sight.—2 CORINTHIANS 5:7 Listen to Your Spirit Sight is one of the five physical senses. We could say, “We walk by faith, not by our physical senses.” I’m not preaching something to you that I don’t do myself. I mean, I’ve been in some alarming situations. I had a severe heart condition and an incurable blood disease as a boy. The doctor told me that I was going to die. He said, “Your white corpuscles eat up the red corpuscles faster than you can build them up or medically do anything about them. If you didn’t have the heart condition, if you didn’t have the paralysis, this incurable blood disease would prove to be fatal to you.” Doctors said that to me when I was a teenager. Well, I learned a lesson as I lay on that bed. And years later after I was healed, when death came and fastened itself upon my body again, I started laughing. Why? I had learned to listen to my spirit. I had learned to let my inward man dominate me. I just started laughing

September 12 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.—MARK 11:23 Believe With the Inward Man Notice that this scripture says, “shall not doubt in his heart.” It never said a word about doubting in his head. You see, faith will work in your heart with doubt in your head. You can have doubt in your head, because the devil has access to our physical senses. He is the god of this world, and he can bring doubt to you. If you see that things are not working out right—maybe your body doesn’t feel well—your mind will begin to doubt that you’re healed. What must you do? Hold yourself in the arena of faith by casting down negative thoughts and by believing with the inward man. Proverbs 3:5 says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” D

You do something with your body and mind. God is not going to do anything with your body; He can’t. God is not going to do anything with your mind; He can’t. You have to do it. Now He will help you do something with your body and mind, but He won’t just do it on His own. God does something with your spirit. What does He do? He recreates it. He makes it a new creature. Old things pass away and all things become new. But you are to do something with your body and your mind. Remember, Romans 12:1 says, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that YE present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” You present your body as a living sacrifice, wholly acceptable to God. September 10 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy,acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.—ROMANS 12:1 Present Your Body to God Present your body to God. You can do it, because the inward man, or the spirit man, has the life and nature of God in him. In addition to that, you can be filled with the Holy Ghost and have the power of God in him. Let’s look at the next verse in Romans chapter 12. Verse 2 says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” It astounded me in 1949 when I really saw what these verses said. It dawned on me one day when I was reading these scriptures that Paul was writing to born-again, Spirit-filled believers. He told them that they needed to do something with their bodies and minds. You see, they were born again and filled with the Holy Ghost, but their

September 9 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. —1 CORINTHIANS 9:27 Keep Your Body Under Notice that this scripture says, “I keep under my body.” If your body were the real you, Paul would have said, “I keep myself under. I bring myself into subjection.” But he didn’t say that. He said, “I keep my body under.” Well, what did he bring his body into subjection to? His spirit. He didn’t let his body dominate him. Rather, his spirit dominated his body. He didn’t let his body dictate to his spirit. His spirit dictated to his body. This principle has to do with divine healing. Speak to your body and tell it to obey the Word. Say to your body, “The Word says that you’re healed now, so quit acting up.” That’s keeping your body under. Don’t let your body dominate you in any way, shape, form, or fashion. Don’t let your body tell you what to do. You tell your body what it can and can’t do. A

September 8 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.—ROMANS 8:5 Become Spirit-Conscious It helped my faith immeasurably when I was able to say, “I am a spirit being. I have a soul. And I live in a body” (see First Thessalonians 5:23). You see, my spirit is my heart. It is with the heart, with the spirit, that I believe. When I learned this, I stopped paying attention to my body. I stopped paying attention to my feelings. Instead of being body-conscious, I became spirit- conscious. Now if you’re more body-conscious, you’re concerned about the body. And you’ll see someone and say, “How are you feeling?” And the person will respond by saying, “I’ve got a sore throat [or some other ailment].” People are more conscious of the body than they are of the spirit. The body dominates them. The body rules them. All they can ever talk about is the physical man. Well, the spirit man ought to be first. And if they’

September 7 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.—EPHESIANS 1:3 You Have Already Been Blessed It is a remarkable fact that nowhere in the Epistles—the letters that are written to the Church—do Paul, James, John, Jude, or any of the other writers urge Christians to believe or have faith. Our urging Christians to believe is the result of the Word having lost its reality to them. That’s what the problem is. Since Paul never encouraged the Church to believe, what did he tell them? According to Ephesians 1:3, he tells us that God has already blessed us with all there is. There isn’t any more. He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing. If you’re blessed with every spiritual blessing, then you’re blessed! You don’t need to ask for spiritual blessings. All you need to do is thank God that you have them. All you have to say is, “Father, I thank You for my healing. I thank You for my deliveranc

September 6 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.—JAMES 5:15 Faith and Believing Let’s look at two words:faith and believing. They have something to do with healing, because the Bible says, “The prayer of faith shall save the sick.” The word “faith” is a noun. The word “believe” is a verb. It’s an active verb. And that’s what we’ve been talking about—believing God and acting on the Word. Just as you act on the word of a physician or the word of a lawyer or the word of a loved one, you are to act on the Word of God. If you have the word of your mother for something, you don’t ask yourself the question, Do I believe what she said? Or, Do I have faith in her word? You just simply say, “That’s what Mama said. And that’s it.” If you are a child of God, it took faith to get in the family of God. But you’re in the family now, and all that God has is yours. It’s not a matter of having faith. It’s

September 5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.—JOHN 2:5 Obedience: An Important Key in Receiving From God It is deeply important that you learn this simple truth: It’s not struggling, praying, or crying that brings results; it’s acting on what God has spoken that gets the job done. Because we’ve been religious-minded rather than Bible- minded, we want to do something to get God to move on our behalf. We think, If I could pray enough, cry enough, get enough people praying, or do enough of something myself, things would change. No, God has already done it. He has already planned the great plan of redemption and sent Jesus to consummate that plan. All that the Father has is ours. Some people say, “Well, maybe I’m not doing enough.” Religious thinking can trip you up. You can keep falling over it. Let me say it again, because it is so important, and I don’t want you to forget it. Even if you don’t agree with it, think on it, because the time will come

September 4 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.—EPHESIANS 2:8 How to Enjoy the Reality of God’s Word It took faith for you to become a child of God. By grace you were saved through faith. And the children of God own all that Christ has wrought for them. They own it all! Now can you understand why Peter said, “. . . by whose stripes ye were healed.”? As far as God is concerned, healing is already yours. You can be certain that if you accept First Peter 2:24 and Isaiah 53:3–5, healing is bound to be manifested in your body. It’s been a while since we’ve looked at Isaiah 53. Let’s look at that passage again. ISAIAH 53:3–5 3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for ou

September 3 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.—LUKE 15:31 All That God Has Is Yours Are the resources of God yours? Yes! That being true, you need to find out what He has. When you find out what He has, you know what belongs to you, and you will be closer to enjoying the blessings of God. Does He have forgiveness? Yes! That’s yours. Does He have healing? Yes! And it’s yours too. Does He have poverty or wealth? Wealth! Is He a poor God or a rich God? He’s rich! What does He have? Does He have grace? Yes. Then those things are yours. All that God has is yours. Who is to blame if you don’t have it? Him? No, He has already told you that it’s yours. How are you going to get it? How are you going to have it in reality? By acting on what He said. In other words, by acting like it’s yours. The Bible says that we are heirs of God and joint-heirs (equal heirs) with Jesus Christ (Rom. 8:17). Some people say, “Jesus has it all, and God has it all, but w

September 2 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours.—1 CORINTHIANS 3:21 Rights of Sonship In this passage of Scripture, Paul is writing to the Church at Corinth. But it applies to the whole Body of Christ. How many things does he say are ours? All things! All things that God has provided belong to us. Do you remember the story of the prodigal son in Luke chapter 15? The elder brother got upset that the father was throwing a party for the younger son. The elder brother was so angry that he wouldn’t even go into the house. Some of the servants evidently told his father about it, so his father went out and entreated him. The elder son said to his father, “I’ve served you faithfully all these years, and you never threw a party for me. You never killed any fattened calf or had a feast for me. And this, thy son [he didn’t even call him brother], who spent your living in riotous living, has come home and you’ve killed the fattened calf” (Luke 15:29). “Well,” the father sai
