God Is A Spirit

Faith Food – June 1 By Rhema Team, Jun 1, 2020 God Is A Spirit But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.  — JOHN 4:23,24 God is a Spirit. Spiritual  things are more real than  material  things. They have to be, because God, who is a Spirit, created all material things. God’s unseen ability brought into being everything we know upon the earth in the natural realm by simply saying, “Let there be . . . .” You cannot know God, or touch God, or become acquainted with God  physically . You cannot know God, or touch God, or communicate with God  mentally . God is a Spirit. And, thank God, you can reach Him with  your  spirit. Your human spirit can come to know God. Your spirit can become acquainted with God. Your spirit can communicate with God. Your spirit can wo...

God And His Word Are One

Health Food – June 1 By Rhema Team, Jun 1, 2020 God And His Word Are One So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.  — ISAIAH 55:11 I’ve never figured out how people think they’re going to get God to do something for them apart from the Bible. You see, you can’t separate God from His Word. The Bible is the Word of God. You can’t separate someone from his or her word. In other words, a person is known by his or her word. God is known by His Word. He is everything the Word says He is, and He will do everything His Word says He will do. If you want to find out who God is, go to the Word and find out. Sometimes people say, “Well, I don’t know whether God will do that or not. I hope He will.” If you want to find out what God will do, go to the Word. I remember a man years ago who was in the healing ministry. He was saved, filled with the Holy Gho...

More Than Conquerors

Faith Food – May 30 By Rhema Team, May 30, 2020 More Than Conquerors Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.  . . . . — ROMANS 8:37 If God’s Word had just told us we were conquerors, it would have been enough — but it tells us that we are  more than conquerors  through Jesus Christ. Rather than saying, “I’m defeated,” rise up and say what the Bible says about you. Say, “I am a conqueror!” It may not seem to you that you are a conqueror, but your confession of it because of what you see in God’s Word will create the reality of it in your life. Sooner or later you will become what you confess! You will not be afraid of any circumstances, if you make the right confession. You will not be afraid of any disease, if you make the right confession. You will not be afraid of any conditions, if you make the right confession. You will face life fearlessly, as a conqueror! Confession:  In all things I am more than a conqueror through Him t...

The Principle Of Faith

Health Food – May 30 By Rhema Team, May 30, 2020 The Principle Of Faith For verily I  [Jesus]  say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.  — MARK 11:23 Once I invited a pastor to go with me to a preaching engagement in California. This pastor was fifty-six years old. At the age of thirty-nine, he discovered that he had diabetes. So for seventeen years, he had given himself a shot of insulin every day. This pastor was a good man and had a wonderful church. But somehow, he had failed to grasp healing. Now I didn’t talk to him personally. I think that sometimes people are sitting around waiting for God to initiate something. And sometimes God does initiate something on His own. But people don’t have to just sit around and wait on Him. I wanted to teach this pastor about the ...

The Law Of Life

Faith Food – May 29 By Rhema Team, May 29, 2020 The Law Of Life For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.  — ROMANS 8:2 Dr. John G. Lake went as a missionary to Africa in 1908. The deadly bubonic plague broke out in his area. Hundreds died. He cared for the sick and buried the dead. Finally the British sent a relief ship with medical supplies and a corps of doctors. The doctors sent for Lake to come aboard. They asked him, “What have you been using to protect yourself?” “Sirs,” Lake replied, “I believe the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death. And as long as I walk in the light of that law of life, no germ will attach itself to me.” “You had better use our preventatives,” the doctors urged. “No,” Lake said, “but I think you would like to experiment with me. Take some of the foam that comes from the victims’ lungs after death, and examine it under the microscope. You will find...

A Gradual Healing

Health Food – May 29 By Rhema Team, May 29, 2020 A Gradual Healing And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.  —MARK 16:17–18 Several years ago, I received a letter from a woman who had attended one of my meetings in Houston, Texas. She wrote, “I was healed of lung cancer at your meeting. Now I’m not saying that I was healed instantly; I wasn’t. But the manifestation began the moment you laid hands on me. I am a thirty-two-year-old mother of two young daughters, and my condition was very serious. In fact, the doctors expected me to live only a few weeks. I had multiple malignant tumors in my lungs.” She continued, “Now I was skeptical of your tactics. Each night you laid hands on me [evidently, she got in the healing line every night], I felt nothing. And then...

Should You Take Your Medicine?

Health Food – May 28 By Rhema Team, May 28, 2020 Should You Take Your Medicine? Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.  — EPHESIANS 5:17 People are always asking me if they should take their medicine or not. I tell them to wait until the Lord tells them to stop taking it. Don’t stop taking your medicine because I told you to do it. I’m not going to tell you what to do. I’m not opposed to doctors. Thank God for medical science. They’re against the same things I’m against; they’re fighting sickness and disease too. Nowadays, it’s exciting that more and more doctors also believe in prayer and divine healing. When people’s faith is strong enough and they come to the knowledge of the truth, they may not need medical help. I was healed of two serious organic heart troubles, a body that was almost totally paralyzed, and an incurable blood disease. I never ran and played like other little children. I became bedfast at the age of fifteen. The doctors sai...

Travel Safety

Faith Food – May 27 By Rhema Team, May 27, 2020 Travel Safety And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.  — MARK 4:35 Jesus got into a ship with His disciples and said, “Let us pass over unto the other side.” And that settled it! Jesus did not say, “Let us go halfway and sink.” Therefore, when a storm arose and Jesus’ disciples were frightened, He rebuked them, saying, “How is it that you have no faith?” At a Full Gospel Business Men’s convention, a woman asked me to pray for her. She said, “I’m a nervous wreck. It just scares me to death to travel by plane. I actually become sick with fright. I’m not going to attend any more conventions, even though I love to, because I’m so afraid to fly.” “You don’t have to be afraid,” I replied. “And really, you don’t even have to pray about it. All you have to do is get on the plane and say, ‘Let us pass over to Los Angeles or Chicago or wherever.’ And the plane can’t go down. Then you c...

Jesus Is In The Delivering Business

Health Food – May 27 By Rhema Team, May 27, 2020 Jesus Is In The Delivering Business The Spirit of the Lord is upon me  [Jesus] , because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.  — LUKE 4:18 I received a letter from a gentleman who had attended a meeting I held in Phoenix, Arizona, many years ago. This gentleman mentioned that he had been an officer in the United States Army. At the time of the meeting in Phoenix, he was retired and had just gotten out of the veterans’ hospital for the third time. He had been in the hospital trying to be cured of alcoholism. But he came out drinking. He had also admitted himself into three different private hospitals trying to be cured of alcoholism. He finally got down on his knees and began to pray. He said, “Lord, I knew You when I was young. Take me back. I’m a waywar...

You Receive ‘According To Your Faith’

Health Food – May 26 By Rhema Team, May 26, 2020 You Receive ‘According To Your Faith’ Then touched he  [Jesus]  their eyes, saying, ACCORDING TO YOUR FAITH be it unto you.  — MATTHEW 9:29 At a meeting in California, a seventy-two-year-old woman who wore a hearing aid approached me. She couldn’t hear without her hearing aid. In fact, she said, “I can’t even get half the message with my hearing aid on and sitting right under the speaker. I need to hear the Word.” I laid hands on her ears. Instantly, she could hear a watch tick out of either ear! That was quite obvious. She was there two more weeks in every service. She didn’t need her hearing aid. She was talking to everyone in normal tones. Now she had fallen and broken her hip some time before, so she used a walking stick to walk. As she walked away, I said, “Wait a minute!” She turned and looked. I said, “Don’t you want something else?” She said, “No, I got what I came after.” I said, “What about that hip?” She said, “O...

Himself Took . . . And Bare

Faith Food – May 25 By Rhema Team, May 25, 2020 Himself Took . . . And Bare That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.  — Matthew 8:17 In our text today, Matthew is quoting Isaiah 53. When I first understood what this verse really meant, I rejoiced in it. Because when I read it, I was able to emphasize the word “our.” Jesus took  our  infirmities and bore  our  sicknesses. I am included in that “our”! He took  my  infirmities, and bore  my  sicknesses! At this realization, I felt as the elderly woman did who suddenly turned up missing in London during World War II. Her neighbors didn’t see her in the bomb shelters during enemy air raids, so they assumed she had either been killed or had left town. When some of them saw her on the street several days later, they asked her where she had been. She answered that she hadn’t been anywhere. “But what did you do du...

‘I’m Not Moved By What I See!’

Health Food – May 25 By Rhema Team, May 25, 2020 ‘I’m Not Moved By What I See!’ As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations, before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.  — ROMANS 4:17 According to this verse of Scripture, faith calleth those things that be not as though they were. Isn’t it wonderful to believe God? I feel so sorry for those who walk by sight. I choose to walk by faith. Now walking by faith means that you’ll have to stand your ground sometimes. Don’t be moved by what you see or feel. Rather, be moved only by what you believe. The Bible never told you that you could have what you see. The Bible never told you that you could have what you feel. The Bible told you that you could have what you  believe . Matthew 9:29 says,  “. . . According to your faith be it unto you.” The Bible doesn’t say, “Go thy way and as thou hast felt, so be it done unto you.” No! The Bible ...

Don’t Base Your Faith On What You Can See

Health Food – May 24 By Rhema Team, May 24, 2020 Don’t Base Your Faith On What You Can See While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.  — 2 CORINTHIANS 4:18 I remember an Assembly of God woman down in east Texas who had double pneumonia. This was back in the late 1930s before miracle drugs. She just grew steadily worse. Of course, in those days, we didn’t have the hospitals we have today. Doctors made house calls at that time. Well, the doctor came and did what he could do. The doctor told the husband that unless there was a change, she would not live past midnight that night. The husband, who wasn’t saved, decided to call the church and ask if some Christians could go over to the house. The pastor and several members went to the house. They anointed the woman with oil, laid hands on her, and prayed. Now she had been almost unconscious, but she came r...

Only Our Diseases

Faith Food – May 24 By Rhema Team, May 24, 2020 Only Our Diseases He was despised and shunned by men; a man of pains, and acquainted with disease; and as one who hid his face from us was he despised, and we esteemed him not. But only our diseases did he bear himself, and our pains he carried: while we indeed esteemed him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. Yet he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement for our peace was upon him; and through his bruises was healing granted to us.  — ISAIAH 53:3-5 (Leeser) I want to boldly state that it is not the will of God my Father that we should suffer from cancer and other dread diseases that bring pain and anguish. It is God’s will that we be healed! How do I know? Because healing is provided for us under the New Covenant. Isaiah chapter 53 gives us a graphic picture of the coming Messiah. This chapter deals with the disease and sin problems that confront the Church today. God dealt with ma...

Forgiveness And Healing

Faith Food – May 23 By Rhema Team, May 23, 2020 Forgiveness And Healing Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases.  — PSALM 103:3 Disease came upon the children of Israel when they disobeyed the law. Forgiveness for their disobedience meant the healing of their diseases. It was when the children of Israel took themselves out from under the protection of their covenant by wrongdoing that their distresses came (Ps. 107:11,17,18). But when they cried unto the Lord, “. . .  he saveth them out of their distresses. He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions ” (Ps. 107:19,20). We have protection under our better covenant — but it is possible to take ourselves out from under the protection of our covenant. Since I have known the truth of God’s Word concerning divine health and healing, the only time some physical disorder touched me was when I got out from under God’s protection. Now, I don’t mean I stole something or told a li...

Healing Must Be Received To Be Enjoyed

Health Food – May 23 By Rhema Team, May 23, 2020 Healing Must Be Received To Be Enjoyed Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.  — MARK 11:24 My wife and I laid hands on Ruth. I could feel the life of God pouring out of me. My wife sensed it too. We could both sense that life pouring out of us into her. I said, “Ruth, there’s your healing. There’s your healing.” You see, I could administer the healing power to her, but I couldn’t accept it for her. Spiritual things are just as real as material things are. Many people think that if you have something, you can just give it to another person. But, no, the other person must accept it. If he doesn’t, then he won’t have it. The same thing is true in the Spirit. And you can know when people take hold and when they don’t take hold. My wife said, “There it is, Ruth.” Ruth said, “All right, I accept it. I receive it.” Instantly, Ruth’s body relaxed and straig...

We Each Have Free Choice

Health Food – May 21 By Rhema Team, May 21, 2020 We Each Have Free Choice I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life. . . .  — DEUTERONOMY 30:19 In September 1950, there was a meeting in Rockwall, Texas. On a Thursday night, my wife and I went, but my children and my niece Ruth, who was living with us at the time, went to their local church. When the service was over, we stayed and prayed at the altar. I heard an automobile outside. It was in the street in front of the tent. I heard all four wheels spinning to a stop. I looked up and saw a young person, a friend of my niece’s, coming into the tent. He ran up to where I was kneeling at the altar and said, “Ruth had an attack of appendicitis. She fell off the pew at church. They prayed for her and then they took her home. Some of the Christians at the house prayed for her again. But she’s getting worse instead of better. She’s calling ...

Joint-Heirs

Faith Food – May 21 By Rhema Team, May 21, 2020 Joint-Heirs The Spirit itself [Himself] beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ  . . . . — ROMANS 8:16,17 Do you think the people who lived under the Old Covenant could be more blessed than those in the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ? Do you think the people who lived under the Old Covenant could be blessed financially, and be well and healed, but those in the Church couldn’t? Do you think that the Church, the Body of Christ, the Body of the Son of God, the Body of the Beloved, would have to struggle through life poverty-stricken, emaciated, wasted away with starvation, sick and afflicted, singing, “Here I wander, like a beggar, through the heat and cold”? Away with such ideas! The Bible declares that we are joint-heirs with Christ! Sons of God! Children of God! In the Kingdom of God! We’re not beggars! We’re new creatures. We’re blessed ...

Any Believer Can Lay Hands On The Sick

Health Food – May 20 By Rhema Team, May 20, 2020 Any Believer Can Lay Hands On The Sick Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands . . .  — HEBREWS 6:2 While the husband was lying on the ground, the wife said, “Lord, Mark 16:18 says that believers shall lay hands on the sick. I don’t know what has happened to him, but in the Name of Jesus, I lay hands on him and expect him to be healed right now.” She hadn’t gotten those words out of her mouth when he suddenly revived. He said, “What happened?” She said, “I don’t know. The lawnmower was running in one spot and you were lying in the front yard.” “Well,” he said, “I felt myself getting sick and I just passed out. Right now, though, I feel so good. I’ve never felt better in my life.” And he went on and mowed the yard. The husband said to me, “You know, Brother Hagin, I feel so good. I believe I could just go to work without going home and sleeping tonight. I’m so refreshed and full of life.” Confession:  I lay hands o...

With Long Life

Faith Food – May 19 By Rhema Team, May 19, 2020 With Long Life The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years . . . . — PSALM 90:10 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.  . . . . — PSALM 91:16 If Jesus tarries His coming, I don’t mind telling you at all, I’ll live to a great age. And I’ll know before I go. I will tell everyone good-bye and before I leave here, I’ll look over there and say, “There it is, folks — and I’m going. I want to leave you all shouting and happy, because that’s the way I’m going.” “But, Brother Hagin, you can’t ever tell.” Oh yes, you can! You can have what God said you can have. We’ve got a better covenant than Israel had. If it was God’s plan for Israel — who were servants, not sons, and who lived under a covenant not as good as ours — to live out their full length of time with no sickness, then what a plan God must have for us, the sons of God! If God didn’t want His  se...

Who Is Qualified To Lay Hands On The Sick?

Health Food – May 19 By Rhema Team, May 19, 2020 Who Is Qualified To Lay Hands On The Sick? . . . they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.  — MARK 16:18 We’ve looked at this scripture before in explaining that not all healings are instantaneous. Now let’s look at the previous verse, Mark 16:17.  “And these signs shall follow THEM THAT BELIEVE. . . .”  These signs, such as laying hands on the sick, shall follow believers. Who shall lay hands on the sick? Believers shall lay hands on the sick. You see, laying on of hands is more than a sign. It is also a New Testament doctrine. It’s one of the fundamental principles of the doctrine of the Lord Jesus Christ. Hebrews 6:1 and 2 says,  “Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands. . . .”  The doctrine of laying on o...

Covenant Blessing

Faith Food – May 18 By Rhema Team, May 18, 2020 Covenant Blessing And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee. There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil.  — EXODUS 23:25,26 As long as Israel walked in the covenant, there was no sickness among them. There is no record of a premature death as long as they kept the covenant. No babies, no young people, no middle-aged people died. With sickness taken away from the midst of them, they lived their whole lives out without disease, and then they just fell asleep in death. When it was time for them to go, they would lay hands on their children, pronounce blessings upon them, gather their feet up into bed, give up the ghost, and go home. What does that have to do with us? God is the same God now that He was then! The Bible says that He does not change. God was against sin in the Old Testamen...

The Power Of Agreement

Health Food – May 18 By Rhema Team, May 18, 2020 The Power Of Agreement How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the Lord had shut them up?  — DEUTERONOMY 32:30 After a meeting one time, a woman came up to me and said, “Brother Hagin, I have an incurable condition in my body. It isn’t fatal; that is, it wouldn’t kill me. But it might shorten my life five or ten years. And with the right medication, I can control it. But it is incurable. “I’ve been believing God, trying to appropriate healing. But when you told the story about that little girl who stood in the healing line for agreement, it triggered something inside me. I thought,  I’m going down there for him to agree with me that I’m healed. ” So I prayed, agreeing with her that she was healed. Some time later, this woman wrote a letter to me and said, “From the moment you agreed with me in the prayer line until now, I haven’t had another symptom. In fact, I’ve...

Love Covers

Love Cover Billy Graham's Daily Devotion May 18, 2020 . . . Let us stop just saying we love people; let us really love them, and show it by our actions. –1 John 3:18 (TLB) The Bible declares that we who follow Christ should be just as much in love with each other as God was in love with us when He sent His Son to die on the cross. The moment we come to Christ, Scripture says, God gives us supernatural love that is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. The greatest demonstration of the fact that we are Christians is that we love one another. Why not go out of our way to be a friend to someone whose skin is a different color from ours? Love does more to solve our problems than anything else does. Of all the gifts God offers His children, love is the greatest. Of all the fruits of the Holy Spirit, love is the first.  God calls us to love the unlovable.  Read more in this answer from Billy Graham . PRAYER FOR THE DAY Jesus, loving Lord, teach me real love—mine is often sha...

The Lord That Healeth

Faith Food – May 17 By Rhema Team, May 17, 2020 The Lord That Healeth . . . If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put  [literal Hebrew: I will permit]  none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought  [permitted]  upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.  — EXODUS 15:26 The only fight the Christian is called upon to fight is the  fight of faith . If you’re in any other kind of fight, you’re in the wrong fight! There’s no need to fight the devil — Jesus has already defeated him. There’s no need fighting sin — Jesus is the cure for sin. But there is a fight (and therefore enemies, or hindrances) to faith. The greatest enemy to faith is a lack of understanding God’s Word. In fact,  all  hindrances to faith center around this lack of knowledge; because you cannot believe or have faith...

Stay In Faith

Health Food – May 17 By Rhema Team, May 17, 2020 Stay In Faith . . . because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith . . .  — ROMANS 11:20 While I was holding a meeting in Pasadena, Texas, a woman called from Canton, Texas, and said, “Brother Hagin, would it be all right for me to bring my little daughter down there for prayer? She has epilepsy. Now by faith, my prayer group has claimed her healing, but the manifestation hasn’t come yet; she still has the seizures. We don’t want to get into unbelief. Would it be all right for us to bring her down there for you to lay hands on her?” I said, “Yes, but only under certain circumstances. I’ll not be able to counsel with you while you’re here. I just don’t have time. When you come into the prayer line, say to the Lord, ‘Now Lord, we’re not coming down here to receive healing like the rest of the people, because by faith, we already believe that we have received healing. We’re coming down here to agree that she is hea...

How About Job?

Faith Food – May 15 By Rhema Team, May 15, 2020 How About Job? And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. . — JOB 42:10 “But you’ve forgotten, Brother Hagin, that God made Job sick,” someone said. “No, He didn’t — the devil did.” “Yeah, but God gave him permission!” But God didn’t commission Job’s problem. God will  permit  you to rob a gas station (you have a free will), but He won’t  commission  you to do it. Actually, God has only given the devil “permission” in a sense.  If  you  allow Satan to attack you, God will permit it, because Satan is the god of this world (2 Cor. 4:4), and you are living on his territory. Job himself opened the door to the devil by being afraid. Job said, “ For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me ” (Job 3:25). Many Bible scholars agree that the entire Book of Job took place over...

Don’t Listen To The Devil

Health Food – May 15 By Rhema Team, May 15, 2020 Don’t Listen To The Devil Source: Health Food Devotions by Kenneth Hagin  . . . and the sheep follow him [the shepherd]: for they know his voice. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.  — JOHN 10:4–5 I knew a preacher who had an outstanding healing testimony. In the early 1930s when tuberculosis was rampant, he was raised up from his deathbed. He was a young married man. He and his wife had a little baby. And it was discovered that the man had tuberculosis. He requested prayer from every church where he’d ever held a revival. Every outstanding healing evangelist in the world laid hands on him. But he grew worse instead of better. Finally, he just came to the point where he couldn’t go any longer; he became bedfast. He went to his in-laws’ home to stay. They were farmers in Corsicana, Texas. One day as he was lying in bed, he looked out the window and saw a clump of ...

Every Good Gift

Faith Food – May 14 By Rhema Team, May 14, 2020 Every Good Gift Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.  — JAMES 1:17 What is good? Acts 10:38 says that Jesus went about doing good  and healing . Healing is good! Sickness is not good. Every healing comes down from the Father. Every sickness does not come down from the Father. In the first place, where in the world would God get sickness to put on you? He doesn’t have any in Heaven. He would have to borrow some from the devil! (You can’t give someone something you don’t have.) The Bible says there is no sickness in Heaven. Therefore, sickness can’t come from Heaven. What does come down from Heaven? Every good gift and every perfect gift! Confession:  Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from my Father, the Father of lights. Only good gifts can come down from God, for God is good,...

Jesus Already Obtained Our Healing!

Health Food – May 14 By Rhema Team, May 14, 2020 Jesus Already Obtained Our Healing! But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.  — ISAIAH 53:5 While I was lying in bed at that pastor’s home, the devil said, “Remember the doctors told you that nothing could help you. They said your symptoms would come back and you would die. This is one time you’re not going to get your healing.” I just covered my head and started saying, “Ha, ha, ha, ha.” I said that over and over again. I must have laughed that way ten minutes. Then the devil said to me, “What are you laughing about?” I said, “Mr. Devil, I’m laughing at you, because you said that I’m not going to get my healing.” I laughed another ten minutes. And all the time, I was experiencing serious, alarming symptoms in my body. The devil asked me again, “What are you laughing about?” I said, “I’m laughing at you. You said that ...

Faith Food – May 13 By Rhema Team, May 13, 2020 Chastening That he might sanctify and cleanse it  [the Church]  with the washing of water by the word.  — EPHESIANS 5:26 “You’ve forgotten,” someone said to me. “What did I forget?” “In the Book of Hebrews it says, ‘ . . . whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth  . . .’” (Heb. 12:6). “No, I didn’t forget. That verse is still in there. But it doesn’t say, ‘whom the Lord loveth He makes sick.’” People put their own interpretation on verses. “Chasten” in the Greek means  to child train, to educate . You train your children. You send them to school. But did you ever tell the teacher, “If Johnny doesn’t do right, knock his eye out,” or “If Johnny is disobedient, break his leg,” or “Give him cancer.” No! That isn’t the way you discipline or train a child! And that’s not the way God does it either! Confession:  I am trained by the Word and the Spirit of God. I am educated by the Word and the Spirit of God. I am discipline...

Act On What The Word Says

Health Food – May 13 By Rhema Team, May 13, 2020 Act On What The Word Says But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.  — JAMES 1:22 There are a number of different methods whereby healing can be obtained through the Word of God. One way is to simply know what the Word of God says for yourself and then act on it. You don’t have to pray. You don’t have to get anyone else to pray. Simply act on what the Word says:  “. . . by whose stripes ye were healed”  (1 Peter 2:24). In February 1955, I held a meeting for a pastor. I stayed in the parsonage with him and his wife. One night, I was awakened at 1:30 with alarming symptoms in my body. The devil said to me, “Now this is one time you’re not going to be healed.” You know, the devil will try every way in the world that he can to talk you out of healing. He’ll try every way he can to rob you of any of the blessings of God. Do you know what I did when the devil said that to me? I pulled the cover...

Any

Faith Food – May 12 By Rhema Team, May 12, 2020 Any Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.  — JAMES 5:14,15 “Is any sick among you?” Among whom? The Church! Then it  must  be God’s will to heal “any” of the sick in the Church! And it  can’t  be God’s will for “any” in the Church to be sick! “But, Brother Hagin, you’ve forgotten,” one person said. “Forgotten what?” “The Bible says that if we  suffer  with Him, we’ll reign with Him.” “No, I haven’t forgotten,” I explained. “Let’s read it again: ‘ . . .  if . . . we suffer WITH HIM  . . .’ (Rom. 8:17). Suffer what: Pneumonia? Cancer? Tuberculosis? No! Jesus didn’t suffer from any of these things. What did Jesus suffer?  Persecution . And you will, too, if...

Refuse To Be Denied

Health Food – May 12 By Rhema Team, May 12, 2020 Refuse To Be Denied God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?  — NUMBERS 23:19 When I was sixteen years old and on the bed of sickness, I said to the Lord, “Lord, if Your Word is so, I’m coming off this bed. If I don’t come off this bed, it will be because You lied. And if the Bible is no good, I might as well throw it in the trash can and burn it up.” You need to settle on the integrity of the Word and then go after it “tooth and toenail.” Do not be deterred. Don’t let anything stop you. If the Bible said it, then believe it. That settles it. After that pastor and I had counted that same offering three times, he said, “Let’s count it again. We’ve missed it somewhere.” About that time, I remembered that I had an envelope in my pocket. A woman had given me the envelope at my book table. She had purchased a...

Set Against Sickness

Faith Food – May 11 By Rhema Team, May 11, 2020 Set Against Sickness And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. . . . And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name . . . they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.  — MARK 16:15,17,18 Let’s stop and analyze something here: Which of the sick did Jesus say we were to lay hands on? Jesus just said “the sick” — period. Then, if God were the author of sickness — if God did put sickness and disease on people — if it were the will of God for some to be sick — this statement would be confusing. Because in it, Jesus authorized us to lay hands on ALL sick. If God weren’t in the healing business, Jesus would have had to say something like, “Lay your hands on those that it is the will of God to heal, and they shall recover. And those that it isn’t — they won’t recover.” But, no! God set the Church against sickness — period! Confession:  God is in the healing business...

If It’s So, I’m Going To Have It’

Health Food – May 11 By Rhema Team, May 11, 2020 ‘If It’s So, I’m Going To Have It’ Then said the Lord unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.  — JEREMIAH 1:12 I said to the pastor of that church, “I can’t go home. My wife and I agreed that there would be a certain amount, and it’s $23.12 short.” He said, “Well, bless God, if you agreed on it, it’s here. We’ve made a mistake. Let’s count it again.” So he counted his half again and I counted the other half. We came up with the same figure. I said, “No, I can’t accept that. My wife and I agreed. There has to be that much money.” You see, if we’d be persistent with the Bible like we are with other things, we’d get results. We counted those two piles of money four times! And we still came up with the same figure. We were $23.12 short. I said, “My wife and I agree it’s got to be here. That, or I’ve got to go back to every church where I’ve preached and tell them that Matthew 18:19 is a lie.” Now I don’t kn...

Healing Is Good

Faith Food – May 10 By Rhema Team, May 10, 2020 Healing Is Good How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.  — ACTS 10:38 Who anointed Jesus of Nazareth? God did! And Jesus said, “. . .  the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works ” (John 14:10). How did God do these works of healings through Jesus? By anointing Jesus with the Holy Spirit and with healing power. What did Jesus do with the anointing that God anointed Him with?  He went about doing good!  And what was the good Jesus did?  Healing! Therefore, it was actually God healing the people when Jesus healed them, because it was God who had anointed Jesus. God is in the healing business! He’s not in the sickness business! Who was it Jesus healed? All that were oppressed of the devil. All!  ALL!  Everyone healed under the ministry of Jesus were oppressed of the devil. ...

God Keeps His Word

For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them  — MATTHEW 18:19–20 The negative side of Matthew 18:19 and 20 is that if you  don’t  agree, it  won’t  be done. Isn’t that simple? You see, we try to make the truth of God so complicated, but He has made it so simple. Time and time again, as I have acted on these verses of Scripture—as I have agreed with someone in prayer—such marvelous things have happened. And it will work for you too! God said that He watches over His Word to make it good. Jeremiah 1:12 says,  “. . . for I will hasten my word to perform it.”  The margin says, “I watch over my Word to perform it.” If we would look for as many reasons for God to keep His Word and for it t...

Source Of Sickness

Faith Food – May 9 By Rhema Team, May 9, 2020 Source Of Sickness And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?  — LUKE 13:16 The Bible is progressive revelation. It is in the New Testament that we get full light, full truth, and full revelation. There Jesus plainly taught that sickness is of the devil, not God. In Luke 13, we see Jesus going into the synagogue on the Sabbath. A woman was there whose body was bowed together in a fixed position. She couldn’t straighten up. She may have had arthritis. Jesus called her to Him, and said, “Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity!” Then Jesus laid hands on her, and immediately she stood straight. The ruler of the synagogue, like the leaders of some churches today, got angry about it! Then, as recorded in our text, Jesus elaborated on the fact that Satan is the author of sickness. Jesus made three enlightening statements: (1) The woma...

Purpose

Faith Food – May 8 By Rhema Team, May 8, 2020 Purpose . . . For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.  — 1 JOHN 3:8 During the Korean Conflict, I read an article by a well-known newspaper columnist. He said, “I don’t claim to be a Christian, but I’m not an atheist or an agnostic either. The atheist says there is no God. The agnostic says there may be a God; he doesn’t know. I believe there is a God. I don’t believe everything just happened into being. What hinders me from being a Christian is what I hear preachers say. They say that God is running everything. Well, if He is, He’s sure got things in a mess.” Then the columnist alluded to the wars, children being killed, poverty, disease, and so forth, that plague the world. He said, “I believe there is a Supreme Being somewhere, and that everything He made was beautiful and good. I can’t believe these other things are the works of God.” No, these things came with the fall, when Sat...

The Importance Of Agreement

Health Food – May 8 By Rhema Team, May 8, 2020 The Importance Of Agreement Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.  — MATTHEW 18:19–20 Jesus said that wherever two or three people are gathered together in His Name, He is there in the midst of them. What is Jesus doing there in the midst of them? He’s there to make good on what they ask and agree upon, because He said in John 14:14,  “If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” Many times, though, people lack agreement. For example, if something you’re agreeing on concerns another person, that other person will have to agree with you too. It won’t work in disagreement. Get him or her to agree with you. Notice that Matthew 18:19 says that it  shall  be done—not that it might be done or that there is ...

Don’t Blame God

Faith Food – May 7 By Rhema Team, May 7, 2020 Don’t Blame God . . . He that hath seen me hath seen the Father. . . . Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.  — JOHN 14:9,10 Many of the laws that govern this earth today came into being when Adam sinned and the curse came upon the earth. Because people don’t understand this, they accuse God of causing accidents, sicknesses, the death of loved ones, storms, catastrophes, earthquakes, floods, etc. Even insurance policies call such things “acts of God.” They are not acts of God! They are acts of the devil! Jesus set aside these natural laws to bless humanity. We don’t see Jesus bringing any storms on people. In fact, we see Jesus stilling the storms. Therefore, God didn’t send the storm. Jesus wouldn’t rebuke something God did! But Jesus did rebuke what the devil stirred up. When you see Jesus at work,...

Take Back What The Devil Has Stolen!

Health Food – May 7 By Rhema Team, May 7, 2020 Take Back What The Devil Has Stolen! The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.  — JOHN 10:10 Years ago, while I was holding a meeting in Port Arthur, Texas, a Methodist woman came up to me and said, “Brother Hagin, I don’t know much about healing. For seventeen years I haven’t been able to do my housework or cook breakfast for my husband. I haven’t been able to function as a wife and mother because of bad health. And after spending thousands of dollars, doctors have admitted that they just can’t help me. I’ve been in the prayer lines of some of the most outstanding healing evangelists of our day. But I didn’t realize how important the Word of God was in receiving healing until I heard you teach today. I’m coming back tomorrow.” Well, she came back the third day and the fourth day. Every day she came, she got stronger. I never ev...

Healing: God’s Will

Faith Food – May 6 By Rhema Team, May 6, 2020 Healing: God’s Will For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.  — JOHN 6:38 Healing the sick is God’s will. Yet Christians who need healing have said to me, “Maybe God put this sickness on me for some purpose.” Did Jesus ever put sickness on anyone? When people came to Jesus for healing, did He ever turn even one away, saying, “No, it’s not My will. Just suffer a little longer. Wait until your piety gets deepened enough”? No! Not once! Do you want to know what God is like? Look at Jesus. Do you want to see God at work? Look at Jesus! Did Jesus go about making people sick? No! He went about doing good and healing (Acts 10:38). Do you want to know the will of God? Look at Jesus. Jesus is the will of God in action. We can pray for healing with great confidence — knowing it is the will of God! Confession:  When I pray concerning healing, I know that I pray according to God’s will. It is God’...

Ask In Jesus’ Name!

Health Food – May 6 By Rhema Team, May 6, 2020 Ask In Jesus’ Name! If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.  — JOHN 14:14 As a believer, you have the right to ask God the Father for healing or any other blessing. And if you ask in the Name of Jesus, you have the absolute guarantee that God the Father will hear and answer your petition. Many people add to the Scriptures or take away from them, because they have been religiously brainwashed instead of New Testament taught. Even in Charismatic circles, former religious teaching can hinder people. People have a tendency to revert to what they were taught early in life. One time I awoke in the middle of the night and found myself praying about something. It was something I had been praying about for two or three weeks. I said to myself,  What’s wrong with you? You know that kind of praying won’t work.  You see, I had unconsciously reverted to a kind of praying I’d been taught years before. I said, “That kind of pray...

His Riches

Faith Food – May 5 By Rhema Team, May 5, 2020 His Riches A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.  — PROVERBS 13:22 The Lord Jesus said to me once as He came and sat by my bedside and talked to me for an hour and a half about being led of the Spirit, “My Spirit will lead all of My children. The Bible says, ‘ For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God ’ (Rom. 8:14). I will lead you, and not only you, but any child of God. I will show you what to do with your money. I will show you how to invest it. In fact, if you’ll listen to Me, I will make you rich. I am not opposed to My children being rich. I am opposed to their being covetous.” (Someone could be covetous and not have a dime.) People misquote the Bible when they claim that it says, “Money is the root of all evil.” But the Bible doesn’t say that at all. It says, “ For the love of money is the root of all evil  . . .” (1 Tim...
