Message
A born again
Christian will have spiritual family relations that have being in the faith
before him who will embrace him with open hands of love and with all readiness
to assist him sacrificially – that is without anything in return. He will have
fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters in the faith and how to relate with them
so that they live together in harmony was stated in our text today.
First of
all, elders [teachers of the word, pastors and leaders] must not be evil spoken
of; must not be rebuked, but must be intreated – pleaded with as one would with
a father. Leaders are not novice but sincere men of God put in place by God
himself to teach us the way of the Lord that leads home; they are superhuman,
when we see some things going astray, I mean not right; we can offer them
suggestions and plead with them to prayerfully consider it. This reminds me of
Moses father in law who saw that Moses will weary himself and the people out
with his method of counseling; he then offer suggestions and asked him to
prayerfully consider it; Moses adopted the strategy and it works fine for him
and the people.
Ex 18:24 So Moses
hearkened to the voice of his father in law, and did all that he had said.
Your
leaders in the church are your spiritual parents, you need to honour them and
prayerfully assist them in fulfilling their ministries.
Elderly
women are mothers in Israel that must be seen as mothers and addressed as
mothers with all respects and younger women and men as sisters and brothers
respectively with all purity.
Purity, righteousness
and holiness must be our watch word, for without peace among ourselves and
holiness we cannot see God.
In the
world today, we hear immorality going on even among family members all over the
media: mother and son, father and daughter, brothers and sisters doing that
which is illicit and dirty before God. This must not be once mention among us
as becometh saints.
Paul
rebuked those that did such during his time in
1Co 5:1 that
It is reported
commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so
much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father’s wife.
Relate with other Christian in the vineyard of God with purity, sobriety and
sincerity.
Confession
of the Day
I will
relate with other children of God with purity of heart provoking them unto good
works.
Prayer
Points
Lord, help me to do
all things according to your will in thy vineyard everyday till I see you in
glory.
