MESSAGE
There are various kinds of prayer in the scriptures with
rules governing each of them and this must be known so as not to pray amiss. There
is a prayer of faith – which is the prayer to change things or prayer of
petition. This prayer is based on the word of God and there is no “if” in it.
The prayer of faith will heal the sick, that is change his
situation from sickness to wholeness, wellness and soundness. It will surely do
so because the Lord has a healing covenant with his people and he said in Ex
15:26 that “And
said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and
wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his
commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon
thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth
thee”. He is the Lord that
heals us
In today’s reading Daniel discovered from the book of
Prophet Jeremiah the number of years Israelites at his time will remain in
captivity. Because the number of years had already been fulfilled, God will do
nothing for their release unless somebody prays asking him to do it. Daniel
then stood in the gap, confessed their sins and reminded God his word and the answer
comes almost immediately; the situation was changed.
In this vain, when you see anything happening around you
contrary to the revealed will of God you know; you must pray against such
things and the situation must surely change. In 1Jn 5:14 “….... If we ask any thing
according to his will he hears us”
The rule of this prayer is to remind God of his word with
sure assurance that he will answer because he had promise that; but must be
done in righteousness, in holiness because God does not hear sinners.
Confession of the Day
I will pray according
to God’s revealed will in faith and believe that it is done, it is mine, I have
received, it is settled.
