BELIEVING IS RIGHTEOUSNESS

Spiritual Food by Philips August 1,2016 Memorise:  Romans  4:3 "For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness." Text: Genesis  7:1 - 5 1 And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation. 2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. 3 Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth. 4 For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.  5 And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him.                                                  MESSAGE That which we as human beings need to know of God is clearly written in us so that we do

VISION OF GOD'S GLORY

Image
Monday August 1, 2016 Vision Of God's Glory     -EZEKIEL 1:15-28 Key Verse: "As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake" (Ezekiel 1:28). God never calls anyone for a specific assignment without providing him with adequate tools with which to prosecute the task. Part of this tool may, in God's wisdom and discretion, include the revelation of His glory to show His beauty, power, honour, presence, greatness and authority. The vision Prophet Ezekiel saw brought home some eternal facts: first, that God is omnipresent and therefore, He was present in Babylon as well as Jerusalem. This is a comforting lesson and relief. Second, that the glory of the Lord referred to God in all His fullness and uniqueness especially in His interacti

And these are the singers ... they were employed in that work day and night.” 1 Chronicles 9:33 Well was it so ordered in the temple that the sacred chant never ceased: for evermore did the singers praise the Lord, whose mercy endureth for ever. As mercy did not cease to rule either by day or by night, so neither did music hush its holy ministry. My heart, there is a lesson sweetly taught to thee in the ceaseless song of Zion’s temple, thou too art a constant debtor, and see thou to it that thy gratitude, like charity, never faileth. God’s praise is constant in heaven, which is to be thy final dwelling-place, learn thou to practise the eternal hallelujah. Around the earth as the sun scatters his light, his beams awaken grateful believers to tune their morning hymn, so that by the priesthood of the saints perpetual praise is kept up at all hours, they swathe our globe in a mantle of thanksgiving, and girdle it with a golden belt of song. The Lord always deserves to be praise

Cure for unbelief

Health Food Devotional The Cure for Unbelief July 31, 2016 And he marveled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.  (Mark 6:6) After I left the last church I pastored in 1949, I primarily held meetings in Full Gospel churches until 1962.  Again and again, I had pastors say to me, "Brother Hagin, I don't want to hinder you. I'm so full of unbelief. I'll just get completely out of the way and sit in the back of the auditorium."  And some of them got completely out of the church services. Isn't that a tragedy?  I've laid hands on people with the pastor standing behind me and breathing the hot breath of unbelief down my neck. But God sent me to help them. And I tried to help them.  When they come before the Judgment Seat of Christ, they can't say, "We didn't know."  You see, doubt and unbelief have not only robbed individuals and cities, but doubt and unbelief have also robbed entire churches of

Praise Is Beautiful July 31

Image
P raise the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to our God; For it is pleasant, and praise is beautiful.  Psalm 147:1 Praise is beautiful! Witness the words of the angel when delivering God’s message of salvation to the world, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” (Luke 2:14). Hear Scripture’s testimony of the shepherds, “The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen” (v. 20). They heard the angels, and they saw Jesus! After Pentecost the disciples were “praising God” in the midst of the joyous birthing of the church (Acts 2:47). The lame man was healed, and he was “walking, leaping, and praising God” (Acts 3:8). But, that is not all!  The Disciples praised God in times of distress. Paul and Silas were incarcerated in a Philippian jail. They were taken to court, beaten with many stripes, thrust into the inner prison, feet in stocks, and they were still praising God! Our praise opens the windows of bl

The Dominant One

Image
Faith Food Devotional The Dominant One July 30, 2016 "…Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh" (Gal. 5:16).  I learned early in my Christian life to let my spirit, my inward man, dominate my outward man. So even as a teenage boy standing alone without the fellowship of other teenagers who believed like I did, I didn't have the problems some do.  If there was anyone in my Sunday school class who was saved besides me, I didn't know it. They would cuss, drink, attend worldly dances, and they were all mixed up with one another in sexual activities. They'd say to me, "Why don't you do those things?"  First, my conscience wouldn't allow me to do those things. Also, I'd reply to them, "I'm a new creature." And they would ask, "What's a new creature?" (That pretty well proved they weren't new creatures!)  You don't need to be preached to about do's and don'ts; just let you

UNCEASING COMMUNION

Image
Sunday July 31, 2016 Unceasing Communion -2 SAMUEL 2:1-7 Key Verse: "And it came to pass after this, that David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up into any of the cities of Judah? And the LORD said unto him, Go up. And David said, Whither shall I go up? And he said, Unto Hebron" (2 Samuel 2:1). All through the ages, people of God, through prayers, vision and meditation received answers from the Almighty. Those who in every circumstance sought the face of God were sufficiently guided on what to do and what to expect. One unique attribute of David in his relationship with the almighty God was the rare privilege of communicating with Him. The tribe of Judah publicly anointed David as their king. He was now to officially act as a king. We are to note that in his humility and modesty, he never mentioned to anyone that he had been previously anointed while Saul sought to kill him. He rather gave Saul the honour and respect as the king and God

DIVINE BACKING

OPEN HEAVENS DIVINE BACKING – Sunday July 31st 2016 Memorize:   There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.   Joshua 1:5 Read:   Joshua 1:1-7, (KJV) 1 Now after the death of Moses the servant of the Lord it came to pass, that the Lord spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying, 2 Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel. 3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses. 4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast. 5 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was

"Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.” John 6:37 No limit is set to the duration of this promise. It does not merely say, “I will not cast out a sinner at his first coming,” but, “I will in no wise cast out.” The original reads, “I will not, not cast out,” or “I will never, never cast out.” The text means, that Christ will not at first reject a believer; and that as he will not do it at first, so he will not to the last. But suppose the believer sins after coming? “If any man sin we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” But suppose that believers backslide? “I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.” But believers may fall under temptation! “God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” But the believer may fall into sin as David did! Yes, but he will “Purge t

“I in them.” John 17:23 If such be the union which subsists between our souls and the person of our Lord, how deep and broad is the channel of our communion! This is no narrow pipe through which a thread-like stream may wind its way, it is a channel of amazing depth and breadth, along whose glorious length a ponderous volume of living water may roll its floods. Behold he hath set before us an open door, let us not be slow to enter. This city of communion hath many pearly gates, every several gate is of one pearl, and each gate is thrown open to the uttermost that we may enter, assured of welcome. If there were but one small loophole through which to talk with Jesus, it would be a high privilege to thrust a word of fellowship through the narrow door; how much we are blessed in having so large an entrance! Had the Lord Jesus been far away from us, with many a stormy sea between, we should have longed to send a messenger to him to carry him our loves, and bring us tidings from

UNBELIEF KEEPS YOU FROM THE BLESSINGS OF GOD

Image
Health Food Devotional Unbelief Will Keep You From the Blessings of God July 30, 2016 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. And he marvelled because of their unbelief.... (Mark 6:5) Let's look at a city that was robbed of God's best. According to Mark 6:5, when Jesus left the city of Nazareth, He left people languishing on beds of sickness and disease. These were people who could have been healed and should have been healed. It was the will of God to heal them.  Now many people say, "God is all powerful and if He wanted to heal them, He could have."  Well, wasn't Jesus God in the flesh? Yes! Jesus said, "He that has seen Me has seen the Father. If you want to see God working, look at Me" (John 14:9). Yet Jesus didn't heal these people. Why? It was because of their unbelief.  The unbelief of that city robbed them of the blessings of God. Unbelief robbed them of the healing Go

Reasons to Sing Praise! July 30

Image
Sing praise to the Lord, you saints of His, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name. -Psalm 30:4 Life is filled with ups and downs. The heights of rejoicing can lead us “into dancing” because of the great things God has done for us. The lows can only be described as “the pit” (v. 9). But God is faithful to His people and gives reason for praise and song.   David declares: “You have lifted me up” and “[You] have not let my foes rejoice over me” (v. 1); “You brought my soul up from the grave” and “You have kept me alive” (v. 3). “[God’s] favor is for life” and “joy comes in the morning” (v. 5), “You have turned for me my mourning into dancing,” and “You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness” (v. 11).  The Lord loves His people and is the One who rescues, delivers, and finishes what we could never do for ourselves. Our praise must come from the depths of our hearts. Therefore, David continues, I must “sing praise to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I w

CHILD OF DESTINY

OPEN HEAVENS CHILD OF DESTINY – Saturday July 30th 2016 Memorise:  And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the Lord, to deliver thee. Jeremiah 1:19 Read:  Jeremiah 1:4-8, (KJV) 4 Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, 5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. 6 Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. 7 But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak. 8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord. Bible in one year:  Titus 1-3, Philemon 1, Psalms 22:22-31 According to Psalms 115:3, destiny has its origin in the sovereignty of God. It is also the plan that God had for you before creating you. It is what God says abo

THE CROWNING OF A KING

Saturday July 30, 2016 The Crowning Of A King -1 CHRONICLES 12:23-40 Key Verse: "All these men of war, that could keep rank, came with a perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel: and all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king" (1 Chronicles 12:38). Saul was chosen by the Lord to be king over Israel and as long as he remained obedient to God's commandments, the kingdom prospered as Israel defeated his enemies. However, immediately after he went into disobedience and feared man more than God, he lost God's favour, guidance and protection. A young man after God's heart was about to succeed him. David had been anointed king in Hebron over the two tribes of Judah. Now the time was ripe to anoint him king over the other 10 tribes which had been under the rulership of King Saul. All the men of war numbering over 300, 000 gathered with only one purpose, to make David king. Even the Levites who ought not to be drafted as

DON'T BELIEVE THE DEVIL'S LIES

Health Food Devotional Don't Believe the Devil's Lies July 29, 2016 ...When he [the devil] speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.  (John 8:44 ) After the woman died, this Assembly of God pastor said to me, "When the doctors performed an autopsy on her, they couldn't find any trace of cancer in any way, shape, or form in her body. Her liver was just as perfect as anyone else's liver. They couldn't find a trace of cancer. They don't know why she died."  I know why she died. She began to doubt. She let the devil in and began to believe that she had cancer. She began to believe his lies. The doctors said, "We can't find any reason why she died."  A miracle began in her life, yet she was robbed of the best that God had for her, because of doubt. I think if Jesus had been there to talk to her personally, He would have said, "O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?" In fact

And he said unto him, Say on. 17 And Samuel said, When thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the LORD anointed thee king over Israel? 18 And the LORD sent thee on a journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed. 19 Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the LORD, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of the LORD? 20 And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone the way which the LORD sent me, and have

AT THY WORD

DCLM Daily Manna, July 29 2016 by Pastor Kumuyi - At Thy Word Topic: At Thy Word [July 29, 2016] Text: Luke 5:1-11 Key Verse:   "And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net"  (Luke 5:5). It is said that "if you try and don't succeed try and try again". However, it seems people make their best effort at their first attempt at a task. As soon as failure becomes a chronic cycle, the law of diminishing returns sets in, subsequent efforts decrease in intensity till all hope of success is lost. Peter had gone on fishing with James and John, the sons of Zebedee. They had masterfully spread their net hoping for a good catch. They had probably laid out their plan of how to utilize the proceeds from their sale. But they were disappointed. Jesus gently advised Peter to "launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught". The result was tremendo
