Monday November 28, 2016 GENESIS 26:1-5   Key Verse: "Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father" (Genesis 26:3). On November 19, 1863 during the United States Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln delivered a graveyard oration that lasted only a few minutes. Known as the Gettysburg Address, the speech has been hailed throughout the ages for its nobility, brevity and capacity to hold out hope in dreary situations, This God-fearing American leader earns more accolades for his speech when it is considered that as he spoke, he was surrounded by famine, death and sorrow. Many still wonder if blessing, life and prosperity can emerge from famine and hopelessness? Despite the desolation and famine around Isaac in the land of Gerar, he remained there and received the blessing God promised Abraham and his seed. Isa...

Live and Declare the Works of the Lord

Image
Health Food Devotional Monday November 27, 2016 I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.  (Ps. 118:17) In this Reader's Digest article, it also stated that a person couldn't be an officer in the United States Navy if he'd ever had a deadly disease. So after he was healed, this admiral couldn't go back to being an officer. He appeared before Congress. I was impressed by the speech that he made. He told them about his healing and then he said, "Since being out of the hospital and reading the Bible daily, I've found that God has promised us at least seventy or eighty years, and I'm not even half that old. "I could get a pension and sit down the rest of my life. But I want you gentlemen to know that I'm going to live my life out. I'm going to live for God first and my country second. Serving my country is all I've ever been trained for, and I want to serve my country. But I'm going to serve God first....

A LIBERAL HEART?

Image
OPEN HEAVENS  Sunday November 27th 2016 Memorise:   Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bossom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. Luke 6:38 Read:   Proverbs 11:25 (KJV) 25 The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself. Bible in one year:   Exodus 1-3, Psalms 109:1-20 MESSAGE When it comes to giving, the truth of the matter is that what you give may leave your hand but it never leaves your life. It is to our own advantage to meet the needs of others around us. When you meet the needs of the Almighty God, He will in turn meet your needs. The truth is that God is the only one who doesn’t have a need. Whenever He tells you He has a need, it is only a strategy by Him to set you up for a miracle. Every child of God should have a liberal heart. You must be very generous in giv...

Forgiveness Is Divine

Sunday November 27, 2016 EXODUS 21:12-25   Key Verse: "But if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbour, to slay him with guile; thou shalt take him from mine altar, that he may die. And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death" (Exodus 21:14,15). An Iranian woman who was blinded and badly disfigured by an acid attack by a spurned suitor recently pardoned her attacker. The woman was severely disfigured in the 2004 incident, when a bucket of acid was poured on her face and body and ultimately went through at least, 17 operations. In a court-ordered retribution, as a doctor was about to put several drops of acid in one of his eyes in a hospital operating room, the man who attacked her waited on his knees and wept. "What do you want to do now?" the doctor asked the 34-year-old woman, who suffered the attack. "I forgive him, I forgive him", she responded, asking the doctor to spare him at the last minute in...

C. H. SPURGEON'S Morning and Evening Devotional

The Morning Devotional "Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord."-Zechariah 3:1 In Joshua the high priest we see a picture of each and every child of God, who has been made nigh by the blood of Christ, and has been taught to minister in holy things, and enter into that which is within the veil. Jesus has made us priests and kings unto God, and even here upon earth we exercise the priesthood of consecrated living and hallowed service. But this high priest is said to be "standing before the angel of the Lord," that is, standing to minister. This should be the perpetual position of every true believer. Every place is now God’s temple, and His people can as truly serve Him in their daily employments as in His house. They are to be always "ministering," offering the spiritual sacrifice of prayer and praise, and presenting themselves a "living sacrifice." But notice where it is that Joshua stands to minister, it is before the ang...

The Witness Of William Miller

November 26 th We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed. 2 Corinthians 4:8, 9. William Miller was disturbing Satan’s kingdom, and the archenemy sought not only to counteract the effect of the message, but to destroy the messenger himself. As Father Miller made a practical application of Scripture truth to the hearts of his hearers, the rage of professed Christians was kindled against him, even as the anger of the Jews was excited against Christ and His apostles. Church members stirred up the baser classes, and upon several occasions enemies plotted to take his life as he should leave the place of meeting. But holy angels were in the throng, and one of these, in the form of a man, took the arm of this servant of the Lord and led him to safety from the angry mob. His work was not yet done, and Satan and his emissaries were disappointed in their purpose. Comparing his own exp...

HEARING FROM GOD

Image
OPEN HEAVENS Saturday November 26th 2016 Memorise:   Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness. Hebrews 3:8 Read:   Hebrews 1:1-3 (KJV) 1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; 3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high: Bible in one year:   Genesis 48-50, Psalms 108 MESSAGE One of the illustrations of the Trinity says; God is the Father in Majesty, Jesus is the son in suffering while the Holy Spirit is the Spirit in Striving. Jesus is the Word of God that became flesh among men. He is the one that the Father appointed over all the things He c...
