Molding You

When we suffer and die for Christ it only means that we will begin living with him in heaven. —2 Timothy 2:11 (TLB) I have a friend who during the Depression lost his job, a fortune, a wife, and a home. But he tenaciously held to his faith—the only thing he had left. One day he stopped to watch some men doing stonework on a huge church. One of them was chiseling a triangular piece of stone. “What are you going to do with that?” asked my friend. The workman said, “See that little opening away up there near the spire? Well, I’m shaping this down here, so it will fit in up there.” Tears filled the eyes of my friend as he walked away, for it seemed that God had spoken through the workman to explain his ordeal through which he was passing, “I’m shaping you down here, so you’ll fit in up there.” Find encouragement in your suffering. Prayer for the day Thank You, Lord, for all the “shaping” in my life, which brings me closer to You.

The Cure for Unbelief

Health Food Devotional July 31, 2017 And he marveled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching. (Mark 6:6) After I left the last church I pastored in 1949, I primarily held meetings in Full Gospel churches until 1962.  Again and again, I had pastors say to me, "Brother Hagin, I don't want to hinder you. I'm so full of unbelief. I'll just get completely out of the way and sit in the back of the auditorium."  And some of them got completely out of the church services. Isn't that a tragedy?  I've laid hands on people with the pastor standing behind me and breathing the hot breath of unbelief down my neck. But God sent me to help them. And I tried to help them.  When they come before the Judgment Seat of Christ, they can't say, "We didn't know."  You see, doubt and unbelief have not only robbed individuals and cities, but doubt and unbelief have also robbed entire churches of the blessings God intended

Spirit Walk

Faith Food Devotional July 31, 2017 "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit" (Rom. 8:1). Conscience is the voice of the human spirit. Reason is the voice of the soul, or the mind. Feeling is the voice of the body. The Holy Spirit does not bear witness with our reasoning. The Holy Spirit does not bear witness with our feelings. The Holy Spirit bears witness with our spirits. I’m very careful about using the word "feeling." When we sense the Presence of God in a service, people often say, "I felt it." But we really don't feel it physically so much as we sense it spiritually. So I am careful to differentiate between the two, because people slip into the feeling realm so easily. Then, when they feel good, they say, "Glory to God! Hallelujah! I'm saved! I'm filled with the Spirit! Everything is fine!" But when they feel bad, they get a long face and

HAVE YOU TAKEN YOUR LOVE BREAK TODAY?

John 15:9 “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. In your workplace, you probably take coffee breaks, lunch breaks, tea breaks and definitely toilet breaks. Why not do the same in your spiritual life—take time out for breaks, especially love breaks? What is a love break? It is the time you take to enjoy and feed on the love of Jesus for you. At any time during the day, wherever you are, find a quiet spot and feed on the love of Jesus. Just sit down and talk to Him. Say to Him, “Thank You, Jesus, for loving me. Nothing is going to happen to me that You don’t already know about. Jesus, when I could not save myself, You died for me. You gave up Your life for me. What else will You not do for me!” Such love breaks are typified in the Old Testament by Aaron the high priest and his sons eating the breast of the animal sacrificed. (Leviticus 7:31) The breast of the animal speaks of the love of Jesus. Today, you are a priest to God. (Revelation 1:6) So

BELIEVERS’ INHERITANCE

MONDAY, JULY 31, 2017 GENESIS 25:1-11 KEY VERSE: "And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac" (Genesis 25:5). A rich man had only one child and many servants. He appointed a favoured servant among his numerous servants as the captain over all other servants, and put all his inheritance under the care of this servant. While on his dying bed, he invited his only child and asked him to pick just one thing out of all his inheritance. The young man, after much reflection, decided to pick the favoured servant. He was convinced that once he chose the favoured servant, he had inherited all his father’s riches. From the text today, we see how Abraham wisely settled his house before he passed on to glory. While he gave gifts to other children, he gave all that he had unto Isaac, through whom the Abrahamic covenant was to be fulfilled. He knew that, "Proverbs 13:22 A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children..." (Proverbs 13:22). Jesus is the onl

A Covenant With Eyes

Keep thyself pure. —1 Timothy 5:22 Someone has said, “You cannot help the first look, but the second is sin.” Jesus indicated that you can engage in immorality by a look. The Bible places the “lust of the eye” right along with other major sins. Listen: “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” Peter spoke of having “eyes full of adultery.” No wonder Job said, “I have made a covenant with my eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?” Your eyes see only what your soul allows them to see. Prayer for the day May my eyes be on You, Lord Jesus, for I need Your purity and love to fill my heart and mind.

Unbelief Will Keep You From the Blessings of God

Health Food Devotional July 30, 2017 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. And he marvelled because of their unbelief.... (Mark 6:5) Let's look at a city that was robbed of God's best. According to Mark 6:5, when Jesus left the city of Nazareth, He left people languishing on beds of sickness and disease. These were people who could have been healed and should have been healed. It was the will of God to heal them.  Now many people say, "God is all powerful and if He wanted to heal them, He could have."  Well, wasn't Jesus God in the flesh? Yes! Jesus said, "He that has seen Me has seen the Father. If you want to see God working, look at Me" (John 14:9). Yet Jesus didn't heal these people. Why? It was because of their unbelief.  The unbelief of that city robbed them of the blessings of God. Unbelief robbed them of the healing God wanted to bring to them.  Confession: It is G

The Dominant One

Faith Food Devotional July 30, 2017 "…Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh" (Gal. 5:16). I learned early in my Christian life to let my spirit, my inward man, dominate my outward man. So even as a teenage boy standing alone without the fellowship of other teenagers who believed like I did, I didn't have the problems some do. If there was anyone in my Sunday school class who was saved besides me, I didn't know it. They would cuss, drink, attend worldly dances, and they were all mixed up with one another in sexual activities. They'd say to me, "Why don't you do those things?" First, my conscience wouldn't allow me to do those things. Also, I'd reply to them, "I'm a new creature." And they would ask, "What's a new creature?" (That pretty well proved they weren't new creatures!) You don't need to be preached to about do's and don'ts; just let your spirit dominate you.

DIVINE ESCORT

SUNDAY, JULY 30, 2017 EXODUS 23:20-33 KEY VERSE: "Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared" (Exodus 23:20). Having delivered the Israelites from the hand of Pharaoh, the Lord kept on leading them through Moses towards the Promised Land. This time around, He decided to lead them by His Angel. He promised to send His Angel to lead and keep Israel through the wilderness into the land of Canaan, the land He had promised and prepared for them. The Lord warned them not to provoke the Angel. For us, believers, we are not to grieve the Holy Spirit. Provoking the Angel of the Lord, would bring great punishment on Israel. The Lord also forewarned them not to serve the idols of the inhabitants of Canaan. They were to serve Him only, the true and living God. After the warning, He promised them that He would bless their bread and water, prevent all forms of epidemic from visiting them, give them good heal

DANGERS OF FINANCIAL STORMS II

OPEN HEAVENS  Sunday July 30th 2017 Memorise:  But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. 1st Timothy 6:11 Read:  1st Timothy 6:6-11 (KJV) 6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.  7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. 9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. THE LORD YOUR REFUGE WILL DELIVER YOU

Psalm 91:3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. Today, we hear of new strains of viruses which were unheard of only a generation ago. The world has yet to find cures for them and many people are afraid of being struck down by these viruses. But as believers, we are not  of  the world, though we are  in  the world. (John 17:15–16) So our protection is not of the world, but of the Lord. And when we say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust,” (Psalm 91:2) then what follows is not “maybe”, but  surely  He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. A couple in our church can testify that surely the Lord delivered and protected their two young children during a Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD) outbreak, which claimed a few lives in Singapore not long ago. When their four-year-old daughter started vomiting and running a fever, the mother brought h

HELP FROM ABOVE

OPEN HEAVENS 2017  Saturday July 29th 2017 Memorise:  My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. Psalm 121:12 Read : Psalm 121:1-4 (KJV) 1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. 3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. 4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. Bible in one year:  1st Kings 7, Ezekiel 16:59-17:10 MESSAGE  The reason why many people pray without getting answers is because their prayers are actually directed to men instead of God. Today, many people seeking for jobs, contracts, spouses or admission into academic institutions prefer to ask for help from those they believe can assist them instead of going to the true source of help: God. The truth about receiving help from man is that men are most unreliable, limited in resources and ability and can be swayed by situations and c

Faith Pleases God

You can never please God without faith, without depending on him. Anyone who wants to come to God must believe that there is a God and that he rewards those who sincerely look for him. —Hebrews 11:6 (TLB) Faith pleases God more than anything else. The Christian life is dependent upon faith. We stand on faith; we live on faith. Faith is loved and honored by God more than any other single thing. The Bible teaches that faith is the only approach that we have to God. No man has sins forgiven, no man goes to heaven, no man has assurance of peace and happiness, until he has faith in Jesus Christ. You may be saying, “God, I believe you are a great person, but I do not believe your Word; I do not believe what you say.” In order to please God, you must believe Him. Perhaps your faith is small and weak. It does not matter how big your faith is, but rather, where your faith is. Is it in Christ, the Son of God, who died on the cross for your sins? ‘NOW MY EYES SEE YOU, LORD!’

Job 42:5 “I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees You. You may have heard of God from a friend or colleague. Perhaps you continue to hear of Him in church services on Sundays. Like Job, you say to God, “I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear.” But God also wants you to be able to say to Him, “But now my eye sees You.” When Job told the Lord, “My eye sees You,” he was not saying that he saw God physically. He was referring to the moment when he had a personal revelation of God. Why was it so important for Job to have a personal revelation of God? You see, God wanted Job to know that without a personal revelation of Him, the devil could easily steal from him. But from the moment that Job had a personal revelation of God, things got a lot better for him, with God restoring to him double of everything that he had lost. (Job 42:10–16) There was a lady who was separated from her husband because he had an affair with his colleague. But when she cam

HE HEARS!!!

SATURDAY, JULY 29, 2017 -PSALM 116:1-6 KEY VERSE: "I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications" (Psalm 116:1). A popular children story named "The giving tree" speaks of the life of an apple tree and a boy with the uncanny capacity to communicate with each other. In the story, the boy only came to the giving tree always because of what he could get at any stage of his life and after which he would leave the tree to itself. The tree gave her apples, branches and trunk until she had nothing to give. And lastly the boy, now old; came once more to the tree because he had need of some place to rest and the giving tree still gave her stump to him, because that was all she had left. Many so called Christians today love the Lord because of what He has done or what He is doing or what they can get from Him. This is further made worse when supposed gospel preachers tell their followers that God is a goody-goody kind of giving tree. Like the boy

A Tender Conscience

Faith Food Devotional July 29, 2017 "Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron" (1 Tim. 4:2).  Keep a tender conscience - don't violate it - because it is your conscience, the voice of your spirit, that relates to your mind what the Spirit of God is saying to you down inside. If you don't keep a tender conscience, spiritual things will not be clear to you.  During the mid-30s, I pastored a country church and usually spent Sunday nights in the home of a dear old gentleman who was about eighty-nine years old. He and I didn't get up as early as the rest of his family on this farm, so we had breakfast together about 8 o'clock.  He'd have one of those old-fashioned coffee pots sitting on the woodstove with the coffee just boiling in it. I've seen him pour that boiling coffee into a mug, hold it up to his mouth, and drink the whole cup of boiling coffee in one gulp. The first time I saw him do it, I felt like I was burni

Don't Believe the Devil's Lies

Health Food Devotional July 29, 2017 ...When he [the devil] speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.  (John 8:44 ) After the woman died, this Assembly of God pastor said to me, "When the doctors performed an autopsy on her, they couldn't find any trace of cancer in any way, shape, or form in her body. Her liver was just as perfect as anyone else's liver. They couldn't find a trace of cancer. They don't know why she died."  I know why she died. She began to doubt. She let the devil in and began to believe that she had cancer. She began to believe his lies. The doctors said, "We can't find any reason why she died."  A miracle began in her life, yet she was robbed of the best that God had for her, because of doubt. I think if Jesus had been there to talk to her personally, He would have said, "O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?" In fact, I've had Him say that to me. And w

Truth and Fiction

. . . make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of his kingdom. —Psalm 145:12 Some years ago I heard about a clergyman who had a friend who was an actor. The actor was drawing large crowds of people, and the clergyman was preaching to a few in the church. He said to his actor friend, “Why is it that you draw great crowds, and I have no audience at all? Your words are sheer fiction, and mine are unchangeable truth.” The actor’s reply was quite simple. “I present my fiction as though it were truth; you present your truth as though it were fiction.” I fear that so often we Christians give the idea that the truth is fiction by the way we live and by the lack of dedication to the teachings of our Lord. We can all grow in our faith.  Browse these spiritual growth topics for answers and guidance. Prayer for the day Lord Jesus, I would completely yield my life to You, so that others may know that the Savior I love and serve is the truth!

ENDURING WORK

FRIDAY, JULY 28, 2017 JUDGES 2:6-10 KEY VERSE: "And the people served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of the LORD, that he did for Israel" (Judges 2:7). Abraham Lincoln, one of the greatest American presidents in history, once said: "Give me six hours to chop down a tree, and I will spend the first four sharpening my axe." This underscores the importance of preparation in any endeavour in life, if a worthwhile feat is to be achieved. Joshua spent the better part of his life preparing for the task of leading the children of Israel into the promised land. He was under the tutelage of Moses for many years. One instance was when he led the battle against the Amalekites as commanded by Moses in Exodus 17. This was the first mention of Joshua in the Bible and he was already taking charge at the battle front. That tells us a lot about him. He had faith in the God of Israel and t
