BE REFILLED

OPEN HEAVENS 2017 BE REFILLED – Thursday June 1st 2017 Memorise:  And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess, but be filled with the Spirit. Ephesians 5:18 Read:  Ephesians 5:17-19 (King James Version) 17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. 18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; 19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Bible in one year:  Acts 22-23, Jeremiah 39:11-40:6, Hymn: Sing hymn 15 MESSAGE The moment you give your life to Christ, a long drawn out battle for your souls begins. While your spirit would want to begin to exercise control over your soul as it rightfully should, your body would resist it and ask you to go in the opposite direction. To be victorious in this protracted battle, you need to understand your new nature and the life of the Spirit, so that you can easily flow ...

God is a Spirit

Faith Food Devotional God is a Spirit June 1, 2017 "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth" (John 4:23-24).  Spiritual things are more real than material things. They have to be, because God, who is a Spirit, created all material things.  God's unseen ability brought into being everything we know upon the earth in the natural realm by simply saying, "Let there be."  You cannot know God, or touch God, or become acquainted with God physically.  You cannot know God, or touch God, or communicate with God mentally.  God is a Spirit. And, thank God, you can reach Him with your spirit. Your human spirit can come to know God. Your spirit can become acquainted with God. Your spirit can communicate with God. Your spirit can worship God!  Confession:  The h...

Exercise Your Authority

Health Food Devotional Exercise Your Authority June 1, 2017 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  (John 14:13) You have a right to freedom from pain and sickness. In Jesus' Name, you can command them to leave.  Many people are always trying to get someone else to do it for them. Sometimes you can exercise your authority for someone else, and sometimes you can't. If you could always receive the blessings of God for others, that would relieve them of all responsibility. But the Bible teaches individual responsibility.  You have certain rights in the natural. For example, as a United States citizen, you have the right to vote in elections. I can't vote for you. You must be the one who exercises your rights, not someone else.  That's also true in the spiritual. God the Father has given you authority over demon forces in the Name of Jesus. So you can use that Name to break the power of the dev...

Need for Inner Change

Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. —2 Corinthians 5:17 The world says that all we need to do is be decent, respectable, and reasonable. True, that is all one needs to do to be a member of the Great Society, but to be a member of the Kingdom of God, there must be an inner change. A Communist in Hyde Park, London, pointed to a tramp and said, “Communism will put a new suit on that man.” A Christian standing nearby said, “Yes, but Christ will put a new man in that suit!” Prayer for the day Thank You, Lord Jesus, for the change that came deep within me when I received You.

‘LORD, I CANNOT, BUT YOU CAN!

Philippians 2:13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. Have you ever tried to break a bad habit on your own? You probably found that when you tried to stop it by sheer willpower, you saw improvement for a while, and then bounced back to square one. Worse, you found yourself binging on the very thing that you were trying not to do. And your condition is worse than before you started your “I’m going to quit” program! The changes were temporary because it was  you  doing it. A church member who had been a chain-smoker used to believe that with willpower, he could quit smoking. He would tell himself, “If there is a will, there is a way!” But he discovered that with willpower, he could stop smoking for a week or two, and then he would succumb to the pull of nicotine again. When he turned his life over to God and learnt about God’s grace, he told God, “I realize that I cannot stop smoking. I ...

Have Faith in God

Health Food Devotional Have Faith in God May 31, 2017 For verily I [Jesus] say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.  (Mark 11:23) Several years ago, I was hemorrhaging from my body. I had serious pain symptoms. It was almost intolerable. The devil was giving me mental visions of cancer. I didn't have any kind of inspiration, and all the feelings I had were negative.  Now I learned the multiplication table many years ago. It still works. Three time three is still nine. I don't ever stop to think, Will that work? Do you suppose three times three is still nine? Do you suppose the multiplication table will work today?  I can't get it to work for me. I see it working for others, but it won't work for me. No, if multiplication doesn't work for you, it...

Working in Me

Faith Food Devotional Working in Me May 31, 2017 "For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure" (Phil. 2:13).  Another translation of this verse reads, "For it is God who is at work within you."  I like to put Philippians 2:13 together with First John 4:4: "Greater is he that is in you; and that means me. God is in me!"  What is God doing in me?  He is at work in me.  What is God working at?  Both to will and to do of His own good pleasure.  What is His own good pleasure?  His pleasure is that I have everything the Word of God says I can have, that I do everything the Word of God says I can do. God is enabling me!  God is in me, and my spirit rejoices. My heart is glad that I can turn God loose in me. I can let God have right-of-way in me. I can put God to work even to a greater degree in my life.  How can I do this?  First, I can do it by believing in my heart that God is in ther...

WHOSE WILL?

OPEN HEAVENS  2017 DAILY DEVOTIONAL WEDNESDAY MAY 31ST 2017 – WHOSE WILL? Memorise: Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:10 Read:  Matthew 6:9-13 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 6:10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread. 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. MESSAGE “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”  Romans 12:2 God is a God of purpose, and He is highly organized. He plans far ahead of His deeds. For instance, Ephesians 1:4 says that long before God laid the foundations of the earth, He had already ch...

A LOOMING JUDGEMENT

WEDNESDAY, MAY 31, 2017 AMOS 5:16-27 KEY VERSE: "Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light" (Amos 5:18). The judgment of God upon sinners is imminent. It is going to be a day of catastrophe and calamity, gloom and misery, desolation and astonishment and indeed, a day of a lamentation and confusion. It is a day that no sinner would wish to pass through. This day of outpouring of God’s fury, indignation and wrath upon the world is referred to as the day of the Lord in the Scripture. The day of the Lord as depicted in the text will be the time when the Lord will make the day dark, dismal, and gloomy upon all impenitent sinners and backsliders. A sinner who escapes one calamity will be pursued and overtaken by another. The people of Israel copied the crimes and iniquities of their forefathers by going into idolatry. God frowns at hypocrisy as well as the pretence of piety. God could not be bribed wi...

The Principle of Faith

Health Food Devotional The Principle of Faith May 30, 2017 For verily I [Jesus] say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.  (Mark 11:23) Once I invited a pastor to go with me to a preaching engagement in California. This pastor was fifty-six years old. At the age of thirty-nine, he discovered that he had diabetes. So for seventeen years, he had given himself a shot of insulin every day.  This pastor was a good man and had a wonderful church. But somehow, he had failed to grasp healing. Now I didn't talk to him personally. I think that sometimes people are sitting around waiting for God to initiate something. And sometimes God does initiate something on His own. But people don't have to just sit around and wait on Him.  I wanted to teach this pastor about th...

More Than Conquerors

Faith Food Devotional More Than Conquerors May 30, 2017 "Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us" (Rom. 8:37).  If God's Word had just told us we were conquerors, it would have been enough, but it tells us that we are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ.  Rather than saying, "I'm defeated," rise up and say what the Bible says about you. Say, "I am a conqueror!"  It may not seem to you that you are a conqueror, but your confession of it because of what you see in God's Word will create the reality of it in your life.  Sooner or later you will become what you confess!  You will not be afraid of any circumstances, if you make the right confession.  You will not be afraid of any disease, if you make the right confession.  You will not be afraid of any conditions, if you make the right confession.  You will face life fearlessly, as a conqueror!  Confession:  In all things I am more...

BETWEEN GOD AND NEIGHBOURS

TUESDAY, MAY 30, 2017 MARK 12:28-37 KEY VERSE: "And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment" (Mark 12:30). Two aspects of Jesus’ personality are here introduced: His humanity and deity. He is both human and divine. In His incarnation, Jesus came to this world in human form in the lineage of David. That is why He is often referred to as the Son of David. However, because He is God, David himself referred to Him as Lord. Jesus, while answering the question of the scribes on which is the greatest commandment, said the most important commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind and with all your strength. We, as believers are commanded to love Jesus Christ our Lord with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. He deserves our love and reverence. We show our love to Him by obeying Him and giving our all, including our ...

THE ULTIMATE DESTINATION

OPEN HEAVENS 2017 THE ULTIMATE DESTINATION – Tuesday May 30 th  2017 Memorise:  Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Matthew 7:13 Read:  Matthew 7:13-14 (King James Version) 13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Bible in one year:  Acts 18-19, Jeremiah 38:14-23, Hymn: Sing hymn 11 MESSAGE God wants to change your life, but beyond this, He wants to change your final destination. Over the ages, many people have had to move from one location to another within the same country. Others have had to relocate to other countries for one reason or the other. However, at the end of the day, irrespective of where we live, we sh...

CONTINUE IN GOD’S GRACE

2Corinthians 3:6 …for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. To the Jews, the feast of Pentecost is a celebration of the giving of God’s law. It takes place 50 days after the Passover feast. When God gave the Israelites the Ten Commandments at Mount Sinai, it was 50 days after they had celebrated their first Passover and come out of slavery in Egypt. But what happened after God gave them the law on the first Pentecost? Three thousand people died! (Exodus 32:28) Contrast this with another Pentecost in the New Testament. In the book of Acts, it says that when Pentecost had fully come, God gave not the law but the Holy Spirit, and what happened? Three thousand people got saved (Acts 2:41), which goes to show that “the letter [the law] kills, but the Spirit gives life!” The law, which was “written and engraved on stones”, ministered death. It killed 3,000 people. That is why the apostle Paul calls it “the ministry of death” and “the ministry of condemnation”. (2 Corinthians...

BREAD OR CRUMBS?

OPEN HEAVENS 2017 BREAD OR CRUMBS?   Monday May 29th 2017 Memorise;  Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me. Proverbs 30:8 Read:  Proverbs 30:7-9 (King James Version) 7 Two things have I required of thee; deny me them not before I die: 8 Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me: 9 Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the Lord? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain. Bible in one year:  Acts 16-17, Jeremiah 38:1-13, Hymn: Sing hymn 10 MESSAGE What you get from God depends on how contented or dissatisfied you are. While some people ask nothing from the Almighty God who has all things and who can do all things, some others ask for crumbs. Your desire and request go a long way in determining what you get in life. In Matthew 15:21-28, when the woman whose daughter was to...

AVENGE NOT YOURSELF

MONDAY, MAY 29, 2017 PROVERBS 25:16-28 KEY VERSE: "If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink" (Proverbs 25:21). The story is told about Jane, a persecuted but non-vindictive and non-retaliatory Christian young lady somewhere in Africa. She sometimes left her clothes on the washing line at the back of their residence. Whenever she went for fellowship or evangelism, her hostile neighbours would never help her pack them inside, perchance there was rain. They never saw anything good in Jane. They maligned, slandered and vilified her whenever she was not at home. It happened, however that one day, Jane was at home reading her Bible when rain started threatening and some of her neighbours left their clothes outside. When she looked outside through the window and saw the clothes, she quickly ran to help pack them inside. When they came back and saw what she had done for them, they were humiliated by shame because, they had n...

A Gradual Healing

Health Food Devotional A Gradual Healing May 29, 2017 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;  They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.  (Mark 16:17-18) Several years ago, I received a letter from a woman who had attended one of my meetings in Houston, Texas.  She wrote, "I was healed of lung cancer at your meeting. Now I'm not saying that I was healed instantly; I wasn't. But the manifestation began the moment you laid hands on me. I am a thirty-two-year-old mother of two young daughters, and my condition was very serious. In fact, the doctors expected me to live only a few weeks. I had multiple malignant tumors in my lungs."  She continued, "Now I was skeptical of your tactics. Each night you laid hands on me [evidently, she got in the healing line every night]...

The Law of Life

Faith Food Devotional May 29, 2017 "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death" (Rom. 8:2).  Dr. John G. Lake went as a missionary to Africa in 1908. The deadly bubonic plague broke out in his area. Hundreds died. He cared for the sick and buried the dead. Finally the British sent a relief ship with medical supplies and a corps of doctors. The doctors sent for Lake to come aboard. They asked him, "What have you been using to protect yourself?"  "Sirs," Lake replied, "I believe the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death. And as long as I walk in the light of that law of life, no germ will attach itself to me."  "You had better use our preventatives." the doctors urged. "No," Lake said, "But I think you would like to experiment with me. Take some of the foam that comes from the victims' lungs after death, and ex...

Keep Moving Forward

For in him we live and move and are! —Acts 17:28 (TLB) When I was seven years old, my father bought me my first bicycle. I had never ridden one. Patiently, my family and friends tried to teach me the art of cycling. I soon found out there was one thing I must do if I was to stay on the bicycle—keep moving forward. If I ceased to go forward, I would fall and hurt myself. So it is in the Christian life. We can never live this life on the highest plane unless we are continually growing and moving forward. You should be closer to God today in heart, soul, and body, than at any other time so far in your life. Prayer for the day Lord, I have progressed far too slowly in my pilgrim walk with You. Might I be drawn closer to the light of Your love and grace.

JESUS HAS YOU COVERED

Leviticus 1:4 Then he shall put his hand on the head of the burnt offering, and it will be accepted on his behalf to make atonement for him. Imagine the perfection of Jesus covering you from head to toe in the sight of God every moment of the day. Does that sound like a dream? My friend, that is your reality today because Jesus became your burnt offering at the cross. In the case of the burnt offering, when the offerer lays his hand on the animal sacrifice (Leviticus 1:3–4), the perfection and beauty of the unblemished sacrifice is transferred to him, and God sees and accepts him in the perfection of the animal. In Hebrew, the word “accepted” implies being treated with favor, delight and acceptance. This means that you, for whom Jesus became a burnt offering, are treated by God with favor, delight and acceptance because the beauty and perfection of Jesus have been transferred to you. As your burnt offering, Jesus has made atonement for you on your behalf. Je...

Should You Take Your Medicine?

Should You Take Your Medicine? May 28, 2017 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.  (Eph. 5:17) People are always asking me if they should take their medicine or not. I tell them to wait until the Lord tells them to stop taking it. Don't stop taking your medicine because I told you to do it. I'm not going to tell you what to do.  I'm not opposed to doctors. Thank God for medical science. They're against the same things I'm against; they're fighting sickness and disease too. Nowadays, it's exciting that more and more doctors also believe in prayer and divine healing.  When people's faith is strong enough and they come to the knowledge of the truth, they may not need medical help. I was healed of two serious organic heart troubles, a body that was almost totally paralyzed, and an incurable blood disease.  I never ran and played like other little children. I became bedfast at the age of fifteen. The doctors s...

No Accident

Faith Food Devotional May 28, 2017 "The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them" (Ps. 34:7).  In May 1952, my wife and children were traveling with me to a tent meeting in New Mexico. When my mother learned of our travel plans, she said, "Be careful on the road! There are so many wrecks. When you're traveling, I stay awake all night praying for your safety and just waiting for the phone to ring with the news that you've been in a wreck. But I know that you're praying every minute you're on the road."  "No, I never do." I replied.  "Oh, Son, what's gotten into you?" she said.  "Nothing but the Word," I said, "Jesus has already said, "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee" (Heb. 13:5). So I don't have to go down the road begging Jesus to be with me. I always start out by saying, "Heavenly Father, I'm so thankful for Your Word. I'm so glad...

HE IS OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS

SUNDAY, MAY 28, 2017 JEREMIAH 23:1-8 KEY VERSE: "In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS" (Jeremiah 23:6). Man is faced with multiple and very complex spiritual problems. In a bid to seek solution to, and freedom from these problems, mankind has adopted different approaches which manifest in the different religions we have all over the world today. The religions reveal the depth of the spiritual hunger and longing of man. Unfortunately, these religions have proved to be incapable of solving man’s problems and giving him the peaceful repose he desires. With all the religious activities going on in different parts of the world, the sin problem with its attendant effects appear not to be abating. Rather, they are in a more terrifying increase. These go to show that the world needs more than religions. They need Christ. In today’s passage, prophet Jeremiah laments the failu...

Invest Your Talents

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above . . .  —James 1:17 God, in His mercy and goodness, has endowed every man with certain gifts, talents, and capabilities. These are not to be used selfishly for our own profit, but for the glory of God and for the building of His kingdom. Our personalities, our intelligence, and our capabilities are gifts from His own bountiful hand. If we divert their use for our own profit, we become guilty of selfishness. It is good business for an employee or junior partner in the firm to work for the profit and interest and glory of the owner. When the owner profits, all members of the firm profit. So, as stewards of our talents, we should invest them for the glory, praise, and honor of God. If God is glorified, we as His partners will be blessed. Our voices, our service, and our abilities are to be employed, primarily, for the glory of God. Prayer for the day Everything I have, You have given me, Father. Now give me wisdom...

JESUS ALWAYS HAS TIME FOR YOU

Revelation 1:8 “I am…the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Ever been too busy to get something done, and then find out that it’s too late when you finally get down to it? As human beings, we live our lives constrained by time. But Jesus, the one who created time, is not time-bound. He always has time for each one of us! Even in His earthly ministry, in His limited form as Man, He always had time to minister to people. Consider a typical day in His ministry: When a severely demon-possessed man cried out from the tombs of a distant region, He had time to sail all the way from Galilee to the country of the Gadarenes to save that lonely, tormented man. On the way there, He had time to respond to the cries of His disciples when a fierce storm arose. He awoke from a much-deserved sleep and calmed the storm for them. After He saved the demonized man and returned to Galilee, another man, Jair...

Jesus Is Matchless

You have your life through Christ Jesus. He showed us God's plan of salvation; he was the one who made us acceptable to God . . .  —1 Corinthians 1:30 (TLB) More and more I am becoming aware of the truth that people change people as much as ideas change people. The power of personality is strong. One could find many illustrations to prove that often personality is greater than the idea. Such is the case with Christianity. The secret of the power of Christianity is not in its ethics. It is not in Christian ideas or philosophy, although Christianity has a philosophical set of ideas. The secret of Christianity is found in a Person, and that Person is the Lord Jesus Christ. Men have discovered other philosophical and ethical systems, but they have not found another Jesus Christ. No one in history can match Him. Prayer for the day When I tell others of Your love, help me to hide my personality in Yours, Lord Jesus.

SWEET SAVOUR TO THE LORD

FRIDAY, MAY 26, 2017 numbered 15:1-16 KEY VERSE: "And will make an offering by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, or a sacrifice in performing a vow, or in a freewill offering, or in your solemn feasts, to make a sweet savour unto the LORD, of the herd, or of the flock" (Numbers 15:3).. Many factors conjoin to make our food enjoyable. Food makers know so well the importance of aroma, mouth-feel and appearance when it comes to food consumption experience. The senses of taste and smell are inexplicably tied together and arc critical in food enjoyment and safety. Except for what we consume strictly for medical reasons, food has to pass the aroma and taste test to get our acceptance or approval. God is also interested in sweet aroma. It could have been the missing element in the rejected offering of Cain as opposed to that of Abel whose sacrifice was accepted by God. When Noah appreciatively offered to God after the deluge, "the LORD smelled a sweet savour". F...

STAND UP FOR SOMETHING

OPEN HEAVENS 2017  Friday May 26th 2017 Memorise:  So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Revelation 3:16 Read:  Revelations 3:15-16 (King James Version) 15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Bible in one year:  Acts 10-11, Jeremiah 36:4-19, MESSAGE “I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.”  Revelation 3:15 If there is one state that God never wants His children to be in, it is the state of lukewarmness. As seen in the above Scripture passage, the Lord speaks His mind on this issue in very strong terms. He says if you want to be hot, be hot, and if you want to be cold, be cold; if you are neither cold nor hot, He will spit you out of His mouth. God has zero tolerance for lukewarmness. As foretold by the Holy S...

GETTING FILLED WITH ALL THE FULLNESS OF GOD

Ephesians 3:19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. We would all like to experience more health, abundance and success in our lives. God, being God, has all of these things, won’t you agree? So to be full of God is to be full of health, abundance and success. But how does one become full of God? In the past, I was told that to be “filled with all the fullness of God”, I had to fast a certain number of days, pray a certain number of hours and speak in tongues incessantly! I am not belittling fasting, praying or speaking in tongues, but to be filled with all the fullness of God is not about what you do. It is not even about your love for Christ. It is actually about  knowing the love of Christ ! No one ever told me that if I knew how much God loves me and focused on His love for me, I would be full of Him. When God made you, He designed you to run at optimal level when you are filled with H...
