God's Word Is Medicine

Image
Kenneth Hagin's Health Food Devotional January 1, 2017 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. (Prov. 4:20-22) According to The New Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible, the Hebrew word in verse 22 translated "health" actually means medicine. In other words, this scripture actually says, "...they (God's words) are life unto those that find them and medicine unto all their flesh." Notice that this passage of Scripture begins, "My son, attend to my words..." What does it mean to attend to God's words? It means to put His words first. Then we are told to incline our ears unto His words, or to listen to them. Finally, we are told to keep His words in the midst of our heart. So there are three things we are told to do with the Word of God: (1)

THE BATTLE BELONGS TO THE LORD

D.L Moody' Daily devotion Read JUDGES 1:1–20   “Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,” says the LORD Almighty Zechariah 4:6 On the 20th of this month, a new American president will move into the White House and assume responsibility for governing the country. During the inauguration, the president will lay a hand on the Bible and swear, with God’s help, to uphold the Constitution. In ancient Israel, political power was transferred after a leader’s death. In fact, every time a leader’s death is announced in the Old Testament, it signals an important historical moment. The book of Judges begins with the announcement that Moses’ successor, Joshua, is dead. (Similarly, the book of Joshua begins with the announcement of Moses’ death.) In contrast to the book of Joshua, however, in Judges, no appointed leader fills the vacancy. The motley crew of Israelite tribes assemble to finish the task given to them by Moses, by Joshua, and most importantly, by God: conquer the

STARTING A NEW YEAR

Ecclesiastes 7:8  Read:   Job 8:5-7 (King James Version) 5 If thou wouldest seek unto God betimes, and make thy supplication to the Almighty; 6 If thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous. 7 Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase. At the dawn of a new year, hopes are renewed, aspirations are born and expectations are high. But when the ups and downs of life take their toll in the course of the year, many people are not able to sustain the zeal and zest that they started the year with. Does this sound familiar? For some, it appe

Beginning With God

Christopher Columbus, the Genoese sailor that world history credited with the discovery of the American continent, died erroneously believing he had opened the route to India. He began his famous sea trip in 1492, hoping to land in spice-rich Asia but ended up elsewhere. Every man-made thing he relied on - compass, tested trade maps, books, bird-flights, charts, etc. failed the great admiral. The story is different with Abraham who had similar adventure thousands of years earlier (Genesis 12:5). What made the difference? while Christopher Columbus depended on unreliable earthly elements, Abraham was led by God, who created the elements. Beginning this year is akin to embarking on

The Name of Jesus Belongs to You

31st December, 2016                    Health Food Devotional By Kenneth Hagin   That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth. (Phil. 2:10) The Name of Jesus belongs to us as believers. We have a right to use the Name of Jesus. The right to use Jesus' Name is a blessing given to the Church, to every child of God. We have a fourfold right to use the Name. ·          First, we're born into the family of God, and the Name belongs to the family.  ·          Second, we're baptized into the Name. And being baptized into the Name, we're baptized into Christ Himself.  ·          Third, the Name was conferred upon us by Jesus. He gave us the power of authority.  ·          And fourth, we're commissioned as ambassadors to go and herald the Name of Jesus among the nations. We're representatives of Christ. Now I can't find in the Bible where it says we need to have any s

James 1:27 Read:   Romans 12:1-2 (KJV) 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Bible in one year:   Numbers 7:84-10:10, Psalms 140 MESSAGE The major difference between David and the other soldiers at the war front was simply the fact that David could not stand the insult and blasphemy against the God of Israel. Looking Back and Looking Forward

Saturday December 31, 2016 Pastor W,F Kumuyi ( DCLM Daily Manna) Read Your Bible Pray Everyday For Spiritual Growth 1 SAMUEL 7:1-12 Key Verse: "Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us" (1 Samuel 7:12). Life is short. However long a journey is, it must surely come to an end. Most men wrongly hold the belief that life will last forever, only to discover that it is like a vapour, seen one moment, yet evaporates the next minute. The children of Israel had suffered much from the hands of the Philistines because of their sins. They were in bondage of fear. The ark of God captured by the Philistines had been released because the Lord poured His wrath upon them. At Bethlehemesh, the Lord had smitten fifty-seven thousand for looking into the ark. The men of Kirjath-jearim came and fetched the ark and brought it into the house of Abinadab, consecrating Eleazer, his s
