Blessings of Grace and Peace

Friday September 30, 2016  Blessings of Grace and Peace   Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. —Romans 5:1–2  Scripture reading: 1 Corinthians 1  ou are justified. You are being brought into a place of peace. And remember, the peace of God is different from any other peace. It “surpasses all understanding” (Phil. 4:7); it helps you to keep your composure. You are not shaken by earthly things. It is a deep peace, created by the knowledge of a living faith, which is the living principle of the foundation of all truth. Christ is in us, the hope and the evidence of glory (Col. 1:27).  See how rich you are in Christ: “Through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”  Peter called it a “precious faith” (2 Pet. 1:1). It has passed through Abraham,

What Is Confession?

Health Food Devotional What Is Confession? September 29, 2016 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.   (Rom. 10:9) What is confession? First, it's affirming something that we believe. Second, it's testifying to something that we know. And third, it's witnessing for a truth that we've embraced.   What are we to confess? Well, our confession should center around five things:   What God in Christ has wrought for us in His great plan of redemption.   What God through the Word and the Holy Spirit has wrought in us in the New Birth and the baptism in the Holy Ghost.   What we are to God the Father in Christ Jesus.   What Jesus is doing for us now at the right hand of the Father in His present-day ministry.   What the Word of God will do through our lips. Now you cannot confess or witness about things you do not know about. It's what you personall

Supplicating Appropriately

Friday September 30, 2016 -DANIEL 9:20-27 Key Verse: "At the beginning of thy supplications the com- mandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore under- stand the matter, and consider the vision" (Daniel 9:23). In many contemporary Christian assemblies, there is an over- emphasis on the place of prayer in true worship experience. Good as that trend may appear, the worrisome aspect of this modern practice of praying is the focus and content of such prayers. The Church today seems to have lost the power of purposeful supplication that will bring national revival, restoration and righteousness. Much time is spent praying against enemies, seeking personal wealth or deliverance. In our passage, Daniel is shown as an inspiring example that believers should emulate. He lived in affluence and comfort in the palace in Babylon, but he did not allow the luxury of his circumstance or his busy administrative responsibilities to h

The Plan of the Spirit

Thursday September 29, 2016  The Plan of the Spirit  For all that is in the world; the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life; is not of the Father but is of the world. —1 John 2:16  Scripture reading: 2 Timothy 1:6–14   It has been a long time now since the debt of sin was settled, our redemption was secured, and death was abolished. Mortality is a hindrance, but death no longer has power. Sin no longer has dominion. You reign in Christ; you take hold of His finished work. Don‘t groan and travail for a week if you are in need; “only believe” (Mark 5:36). Don‘t fight to get some special thing; “only believe.” It is according to your faith that you will receive (Matt. 9:29). God blesses you with faith. “Have faith in God” (Mark 11:22). If you are free in God, believe, and it will come to pass.  “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God” (Col. 3:1). Stir yourselves up, beloved! Wher

The Importance of Your Words

Kenneth Hagin Health food Devotional The Importance of Your Words September 28, 2016 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.   (Prov. 18:21) In 1951, I was holding a meeting in a town in Texas. We had day and night teaching services. Between the services, I would walk up and down the aisles of the church, praying and reading my Bible.   One day, I was reading the Book of Mark as I was on my knees near the altar. I got tired, so I sat down on the floor and finished reading the Book of Mark. Now I wasn't even thinking about Mark 11:23.   I was thinking about the sixteenth chapter of Mark, where Jesus said, "Go into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature." Then I got tired of sitting, so I just lay down on my back.   As I was lying there on my back with my hands under my head, staring at the ceiling, I came to the place my mind got quiet. Then I heard these words on the inside of

Folly Of Earthly Possession

Thursday September 29, 2016 -PSALM 49:1-14 Key Verse: "For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others. Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names" (Psalm 49:10,11). A traveler from an ancient land once told a story. According to him, he saw in a desert country, the remains of a huge statues, two vast stone legs standing; and in the sand, half sank, with a shattered head whose ugly, sneering face accurately portrayed its original on the pedestal. He read the proud lines: "My name is Ozymandias, King of kings: look on my work ye mighty, and despair". Many centuries had worn down the statue; the residue was all that remained. No matter how carefully a proud despot may try to be remembered forever, he will finally be conquered by time. Nothing in this world is immutable. Pr

READY AND WAITING

Wednesday September 28, 2016  Ready and Waiting  The carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. —Romans 8:7  Scripture reading: Romans 8:6–25  A man may be saved and still be carnally minded. When many people hear about the baptism of the Holy Spirit, their carnal minds at once arise against the Holy Spirit. One time, Jesus‘ disciples wanted to call down fire from heaven as a punishment against a Samaritan village for not welcoming Him. But Jesus said to them, “You do not know what manner of spirit you are of” (Luke 9:55).  For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life. Polluted Gains

Wednesday September 28, 2016  JAMES 5:1-11   Key Verse: "Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are en- tered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth" (James 5:4). The writer of today's text, having dealt with various issues of interest in previous chapters, now turned his attention to the wealthy class. He had stiff warning for the rich, not because of their riches but for their oppression and wicked exploitation of the poor. The truly rich leaves no debt behind him and he definitely owes no one their just wages or due. The wicked rich is not so. His wealth is largely the result of ruthless and godless business principles and oppression of the poor like delaying, decreasing or keeping back the wages of labourers and workmen. This attitude offends God. Those who become affluent through dishonesty and exploitative domination of others sin greatl
