WRONG ZEAL

MEMORY VERSE: - Ro 10:2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.

BIBLE READING: - Rom 10: 1 – 21

MESSAGE

Zeal not according to knowledge, without God’s imputed righteousness through faith in Christ, without genuine salvation is awry, improper, incorrect and wrong zeal. Paul was zealous in his Jewish religion to the extent that he sternly persecuted the early church, bound believers and threw them into the prison. Some nominal, church goers and unconverted believers hate the born again Christians, they speak evil of them, call them names and even join unbelievers to persecute them. Yet in things of God they are zealous; such zeal does not come from God.

If the works of the flesh such as adultery, fornication, hatred, wrath, strife, idolatry, envying, drunkenness, uncleanness, etc. still manifest in your life and you are still a member of the choir, a Sunday school teacher, children leader or a youth leader; it is nothing but fruitless, vain and futile religion propels by wrong zeal – a worker of iniquity that will be denied entry into heaven on the last day.

I counsel you to stop deceiving yourself, for you can hide your sins and wrong doings from men and cover it with self motivated zeal, but you cannot hide it from God who knows all things you do in secret and in the open. He cannot be mocked.

Get out of this wrong zeal of working for God without freedom from sin by confessing your sins to God with determination not to go back into them and accept Jesus as your personal Lord and saviour; then you can be qualified to work for God for the scripture says in:

Isa 52:11 that depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the Lord.

And also in 2Ti 2:21 that If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.

God wants the truthful and sincere spiritual people to serve him not drunkards, womanizers and enchanters using demonic powers to perform miracles or ministers under the anointing of alcohol or another spirit. Don’t be a worker of iniquity it will take you to hell, therefore repent first then your service will be acceptable to God for God says the sacrifice of the wicked(unconverted) is abomination unto Him [Prov 21: 27]

Confession of the Day

I refuse to be a worker of iniquity but of righteousness in Christ Jesus.

Prayer Points

Lord, I am willing to serve in your vineyard in true righteousness, hence search me and if there is any iniquity in me, give me no rest until I make my way right with you; till I take it far away from my tabernacle.
