POWER OF CONFESSION

MEMORY VERSE: - Pr 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

BIBLE READING: - 2Kings 4: 1 – 37

MESSAGE

The faith of  this Shunammite woman poses a serious challenge to those of us that are under the dispensation of the New Testament with anointed men of God teaching us every now and then about faith; and when simple problem comes, we start complaining and murmuring and sometimes even ask God why me.

The woman did not call the attention of neighbours who can only console her without bringing her son back to life through unnecessary crying; neither did she tell her husband, but demanded to go to the Elisha the prophet of God.

When the husband asked her about it, she said it is well; and to the man of God, she said it is well when the son had kicked the bucket.

God by whom actions are weighed was unable to overlook the woman’s faith and confession and the faith of Elisha the prophet of God.

The scripture makes it clear to us that you get whatever you confess; if you say it is well, then it shall be well with you and those around you and if on the other hand you say I have this ailment or that ailment, then you will surely have it. Let us call to mind the confession of the ten spies sent by Moses to spy the land. They said we are not able to overcome it for we are like grasshoppers before the giants and they were unable to make it to the promise land. Contrariwise, Caleb and Joshua said we are well able to take the land and the eventually possessed the land; they got that which they confessed.

In Joel 3:10 Bible says “…………let the weak say, I am strong”. And in Php 4:13 you confess I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.

From the above inspired word of God we are to confess positive things even if there are no hope, we hope against hope and confess what the word of God says about the problem, not what the doctor, flesh, senses, friends, colleagues, neighbours or relations say about the problem.

To the Shunammite woman it is well when it was not physically well and eventually she got what she confessed and it was well with her son. I do not know what you are passing through today; remember that power to live and to die prematurely is under your tongue, if you want life and life abundantly confess the word of God, say what God says about you and about that situation; even if you have not seen anything happening. And it will surprise you that bye and bye you will have whatsoever you confess.

I can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens me. It is well with me, my soul and my family in Jesus name.
